  • SIGN UP TO SEE JOHN CURTICE IN PERSON
Join UKICE Director Professor Anand Menon for a special conversation with the “doyen of British elections”, Sir John Curtice.
Sir John needs little introduction to followers of British politics, as one of the UK’s best-known political scientists and the man who guides the nation through election nights for the BBC. Recently he calculated that on current polling, the Labour Party have a 99% chance of forming the next government.
With the election looming, join us for a very special audience with Sir John as we look ahead to the vote. He will reflect on historic election shocks such as 1992, through to the changes of government in 1997 and 2010. He will also offer an insight into what it is like to crunch the numbers on polling day while the nation awaits the exit poll.
This is a rare opportunity to hear from the man behind the numbers and promises to be a hotly anticipated event.
Please note that doors will open at 6.30pm, and that the event will start at 7pm.

Even a few tories....... They really don't get it. The British people want rid of them but they just keep moving further away from cente ground politics because 'that's what the people want'. Loonies, rich privileged loonies.

I don't understand the first question. Basically - "John, the government (with a majority in both Houses) has managed to finally get a piece of legislation through, will this win them the election?".

A very sad day for a country that has lost its way , on St George’s day as well , you know that international Turkish martyr that died in Palestine refusing to make sacrifices to false deities , on this day of all days our country has sunk to a new low with this Rwanda plan , leaving us creeping ever closer to a fascist dictatorship! Never mind Singapore on the Thames we are becoming the North Korea of Europe.
No wonder the union is on the verge of collapse.

Rwanda should know that their national interest is best served by not accepting refugees from the U.K.

Some people will be happy if the boats are slowed but so many others now acknowledge that after Brexit, immigration is actually vital to the economy.

Literally no-one says that Immigration is the highest its ever been yet we've had 14 years of low growth.
80% + of Immigration don't pay for themselves. Only the high skilled ones do.
