As a new player to Azur Lane, I just want to say thank you for the info and the vid!
Iron Blood is my favorite. Why? Completely silly reasons I guess. in the Anime I just LOVED the characters especially Eugen. As an artist myself, I love their character designs, with the shark teeth riggings their histories, and in the game i chose Z-23 and married her first. I was also lucky before my 8 day challenge to actually build Eugen so she was strong already before i got her second copy. I guess just got attached to my sexy german girls and they seem to be strong ships in the fleet. I'm not as advanced in the gaming/mathematical strength side of things which is why I love your vids. they help me with that a lot.
Thank you so much for this guide! I've played semi-casually for about a year, and got to a point where my level didn't keep pace with the difficulty (Siren battles with level 108 enemy ships = no bueno). I never paid too close attention to synergies, just what "cool" skills/abilities were on my ship girls. The way you explained it, brought it back to when I played MTG. Gotta play off synergies. I'm new to the game but so far from everything I've seen Iron blood is my favorite hands down, I love their theme and design, and I like them as waifus there a bit more than the others, I mean Hindenburg is my number one goal atm, and pretty much carries the nation on her own already, but then you have Friedrich, Agir, Heinrich, Eugen, August, Rupprecht and Regensburg, not only do they look awesome, but gorgeous too.
Royal navy is a close 2nd
For me it's Eagle Union. Eagle union has overwhealming fire power, Good anti-air, and can work well with almost any combo of ships. Add in beauts like Enterprise who's skill is basically a giant uno reverse card, helena who makes sure you an't getting snuck up on, and Laffey who, true to her ships types name, destroys everything and one in her path. Your pretty much set. I've been playing for a bit but I've always kept Laffey in my first fleet, which because I am weird, I named Eagle.

Eagle Union, been waiting for the Iowas since I started playing AL 2 years ago. I took an 8 month hiatus and got lucky when I returned during the last 2 weeks of Mirror Involution and 10 pulled New Jersey.
I just put what I wanted on my fleet. So I put Suruga, Ryuuhou and Retrofit Bogue for the back. Kawakaze, Shimakaze, and Chicago to soak in the damage. Chicago and Bogue have been there since the beginning, so I haven't replaced them.

if you happen to have perseus and aquila you can use those and any barrage bb with laffy as mob until ch 12 4 without much problem and full clearing for star

I can't stand using Unicorn because I have her at 90 affinity and whenever she talks when I want to gear her I feel like I'm committing a crime...
Bruh unicorn is 100% worth it especially if you retrofit her. She attac, she protec, and most importantly she heal.
I played Azur Lane for months without knowing anything about this game like Stats, Skills and stuff. The only thing i cared about is waifus. But now that i reach stage 10, things become more serious.
Now im gonna try to fix my fleet, before this i only put my waifu on a fleet and surround her with ships who have the highest Total Stats :)

I have Richelieu, Jeanne d'Arc, Jean Bart and im really close to finishing research for St. Louis. I was just wandering in wich type of fleet they would work better

I'm currently playing an all ironblood fleet with Bismarck, Graf Zeppelin and Peter Strasser in the main fleet and Z23 (retrofit), Roon and Z1 (retrofit) tho i'm trying to replace Roon or Z1 by Prinz Heinrich. Any tips for improvement?

Hey there! Really appreciate this guide as I'm new to the game and this gave me some guidance. I was thinking about my fleets and wanted to ask if they make sense like that. I'm pretty limited on ships so I gotta paly around. mobbing: rodney (flagship), queen eli, unicorn, phoenix (for tank), leander (also have london and not sure if I should still do leander or her), dido μ ..... for boss fleet: maryland (flag, will replace with monarch once I'm done research), saratoga, ranger, portland (tank), helena, cleveland
Since you are just starting out any fleet combo will work as long as they are overleveled against the map. You actually have good ships right now with great fleet composition. I suggest to focus your upgrades(bulins, skill books, and enhancements) to saratoga, cleveland, helena, dido μ and unicorn(highest priority). QE, leander and portland too but prioritized the said earlier. (portland's red skill is not important, yellow is great)
about london or leander, it depends. London is better but cost more oils. If you are playing casually (doing dailies only and not grinding for any maps), i suggest to use London. But if you are playing for hours, leander will be the better choice.
@@AdmiralNeldrin Thank you! I also got the muse Taihou from event, would she be better than Ranger? I assume for boss fleet the oil costs isn‘t too important as they only gonna do one battle. And I wonder for event maps would you do those humanoid fleets with your boss fleet as well?
@@robbiebubble3670 Yes, Taiho is better. Also Sirens(humanoid ships) are great source of exp if you want to level up fast (and grind for PR exp ships, you can check my other video about it) :)
@@AdmiralNeldrin definitely will check your other videos too! Is Princeton any good? As with Portland, Helena and Cleveland I‘ll have plenty Eagle Union ships if that skill of Princeton matters.

At late game, back line is usually affected by burn damage. Princeton yellow skill only affect vanguards.
Maybe her blue skill is good since TBF avenger is strong. But i have doubts if these are comparable to yellow skill of independence. Havent tested her yet
I have british flee as second fleet, they can take so much damage and still alive, unicorn, illustrious, warspite then I have belfast, neptune and sirius

I assume the idea behind the mob fleet and boss fleet is for non 3 star runs, or runs after you complete the kill all escort fleet requirements? I'm at level 8 and it often takes every bit of ammo I have on both fleets assuming no failed evasions to get the destroy all escort fleet requirement.
At later stages, it will take 6-7 battles before the boss spawns. There are instances (depending on the fleet) that even with full hp, most ships will be heavily damaged or sink during boss fight

Hello! Just to answer your question at the start, my favorite is Ironblood, because it's the Kriegsmarine and I just love that stuff
Anyway, at the moment I'm trying to make a ironblood fleet, and I have a pretty good set up for it
But I only have one ironblood main fleet, the Zeppelin, the other two I usually have are the Yorktown and Arizona, is there a specific zone that can get me a ironblood ship somewhere?
I've been building ships but I still have yet to get another main fleet

About your question, you can get Tirpitz via Heavy construction pool (6hrs construction time) and Scharnhorst in the core data shop (for 1200 cores). If zeppy is also your thing (the child version of Graf zeppelin), She is available at Special construction pool (4hrs 30mins).
FDR and Odin are good IB ships too, but they are PR ships that needs some tedious work.
Sadly, Bismarck is event only and she just had her rerun event recently. I think it will take a while before it will be available again.

@@justagamingchannel3521 You can get it via hard mode of non event stages. The higher the stage, more core data. However, it is limited to 3 attempts per day (failing or retreating does not count)

My fleet is a royal nave with Belfast, Sirius, Dido and my back have new jersey and enterprise with the aircraft of sardegna empire
Idk why I am having so much trouble with this, i feel like what it essentially is, is that for mob fleets you need ships that buff your other ships. However, for boss fleets you want ships that focus more on their own damage. Is that close enough.
Basically, mob fleets need to be able to withstand 5+ enemy nodes sometimes so they need healing and support primarily to keep their health up. Boss fleets just need raw power since they'll be mainly used on the one node so the player can focus on damage/defense rather than sustaining health.
I like when u show a whole bunch of combos lmao i just put random ships and hope it works

Yes you can. Tho I prefer some spread barrage like hood, king george V or monarch for easy clearing of enemies. If you will be using neptune, place her in the frontmost similar to 5:30

no, oathing ships increases all stats except for their speed and the gear boosts.

I've never been able to find a solid answer to this but I'm pretty sure either result, I shouldn't be doing it LOL. I've been using a USS fleet with Helena, Phoenix, and Brooklyn, and the other with Chicago, Houston, and Northhampton because I assumed for both class sets of cruisers, their "All out Assault" skills would trigger each other (ie Chicago would trigger All out Assault for the other 2 and vice versa) and would mean big burst damage.
I'm still unsure if this is the case, but I'm gathering that even if it is, there are more powerful fleet compositions to be had since I rarely see anyone running them all together like me.
Any input/advice?
I think you got it wrong. AoA of the same ship class (example helena phoenix and brooklyn) meant they have the same aoa pattern. They dont activate each other.

I'm about to build a same faction ship fleet. I'm thinking for Eagle Union Enterprise and Essex for CV and Arizona as Flagship since i don't have many battleships for vanguard helena laffey portland i don't have sandy. For the Royal Navy I'll use Hood Warspite or KGV and lusty idol vanguard will be Bel javelin London. Is the lineup good?
Yes, both are good. Just take note that your eagle union fleet might be too squishy. Especially if Arizona and portland skills did not activate
But if they are overleveled against the enemy, nothing to worry about.

I'm building a sakura empire fleet to I'll use akagi and kaga for cv and kii as Flagship since she's a sr battleship and for vanguard I'll use takao kawakaze. I don't have an iron blood fleet because i don't have good ships from that faction only eugen and Bismarck does iron blood has a carrier aside from graf?
@@patrickandres4414 there's only few BBs on eagle union. Maryland South dakota and Washington are good too but not much. Alabama is the best i think but event exclusive

For iron blood. You can get leipzig if you do the collection reward of konigsberg sisters. Z1 and z23 are great too. You should prioritize doing roon too in your pr ship, she's one of the best CA
Graf and zeppy (little version of graf) are the only Kms carriers.
10 days in Hows this boss fleet Sataroga (I have enterprise not sure if I should replace Sataroga), Vittorio, Aquilia vanguard duca degli retro laffey and for my last one should I use takao or Portland? (not currently retrofit) any changes or recommendations Im right now farming for Helena, Thanks
if you just recently got enterprise, no need to replace saratoga. Both are are good anyway. But I suggest to catchup the level since enterprise is better in PvP.
On vanguard, I highly suggest portland due to lesser oil consumption with slightly better performance than takao due to CA and DD gun equipment (if played in auto mode; retrofit her too, pls). She's strong even without Indianapolis (no need to level up her red skill)
Neldrin one question is Hamman worth to have it in my fleet?
If you really like her (as your waifu) then yes! But if you are planning to bring her on high difficulty maps (stage 12-13; Opsi stronghold), then clearing the said maps might be a challenge.

Yes they're good combo. Just make sure that FDG is at least dev 15 to be usable. (dev 25 preferred if you want her to hit hard)
3rd slot for back line you can go for either graf or strasser
for Vanguards:
(tank) Roon, Roon u, Prinz Heinrich
(AA) Leipzig, Mainz
(FP) Z23
(if you will use 2 CA, bring Z23 or your vanguard will move too slow)(or any DD, z23 is best imo)
Not yet tested how good the IB ships at high difficult levels when running strasser and graf at the same fleet.

Thanks man! regarding leveling up, make sure that your ships are in dorm for the passive exp gain. The game is currently on event. You can do the SP maps since they offer more exp compare to main story maps (battle the humanoid enemies aka sirens)
also, are you enhancing your ships?
@@AdmiralNeldrin Thanks for the reply and yes i am enhancing my ships but i can only do SP 2 and can do do SP 3 but i need to manual it cuz my ships just like to run into shells and torps, and even then i could barely survive hahaha.
@@tugan3677 bit late but anyway, as he mentions put ships in your dorm not only for passive EXP but also for the morale boost which increases EXP gain (+20%).

Do all the possible Exercises per day as they give a ridiculous amount of EXP even if you lose.
If you are at level 50 you can use the Lecture Hall to gain extra passive EXP.
Sending ships on the Comission that lasts 9 to 10 hours is also a viable option for casual play however it is not recommended if you actually farm since the oil to EXP ratio isn't good compared to farming but it does give a lot of exp if you can't play much in the day.
Using "Training" ships can also help. These ships increase the EXP gained by a specific Ship type:
DD : Amazon
CL/CA : Yuubari (which you get from the start)
CV : Langley/Houshou (can stack)
SS : Nürnberg
After that you can always place the ship that requires training in the flagship position for the extra EXP for backline ships.
For frontline ships there isn't much outside of having them go on sorties with a "worse" fleet so they can nab MVP every fight for instance you could give the ship that you are training your highest LV equipment and have the rest equip worse weapons.

Nagato will always be the best flagship to have. Kii, amagi and tosa will do too. However these are all event exclusive. The rest of the backline are decent (fox, bunny and swan duo might work but need 1 strong BB)
For vanguard kitakaze(pr) yukikaze, jintsuu and suzutsuki(event) are the best. Ayanami, takao and atago are great choices as well. Isuzu(retrofit) for late game AA
Edit:i completely forgot noshiro and naganami are great too but event exclusive

(most bb are trash except georgia and arizona)
Vanguard, go for helena portland and sandy. Cleveland or montpelier in case you dont have sandy, both works well with helena. (cleve is cheaper to upgrade, mont has better skill and stats) Seattle also good but pr ship

Yes. Especially ijn with nagato. Hms fleet can work even without queen elizabeth since some hms back line are strong (hood, monarch, centaur king george, howe, unicorn, perseus)
Kms usually need bismarck to work

by equipping fast launch planes ( Me-155A, A6M5 Zero, DD4Y Susei, Fulmar). You can also give her Homing Beacon

Since the barrage will target the farthest enemy, you can position her anywhere. Regarding the aircraft carrier, it is case to case basis, but I suggest to bring at least 1. Stages 9 or 10 and onwards, you might be needing to bring at least 2 per fleet (since there will be lots of planes in those stages and AA guns will be not enough)

Hello, im quite enjoying playing Azur Lane despite me being more of a casual and not having as many great gear, however i am planning on making some Fleets but i wish i could fine tune them:
1 - KMS Fleet: Currently i have Bismarck, Graf, Strasser, Roon, Z23 and Leipzig here but i feel i could do the fleet better, while i do plan to replace Strasser with FDG later when im able even if it will take some time.
2 - IJN Fleet, this one is a bit complicated for me since while i have Nagato and can run with Retrofit Hiryuu/Soryuu, i dont have much of a good idea for a Vanguard, since i also want to use Kashino in it eveb if she is weak because i quite like her so id like any ideas if possible.
3 - Mixed Fleet, i want to be able to use some of my favorite ships in here later (like Littorio and when i get her: Bremerton here) but it feels like i will have to fine tune the fleet a lot for it to work being honest since most buffs come from Faction Specific Fleets from what i see.

1. KMS fleet is already good.
2. IJN vanguard is a bit tricky for me too. you can run full torp here ( naganami + any of ff: yukikaze ayanami jintsuu) but i think they suck at later stages due to lack of AA. haven't tested it since only yukikaze is high level on me
You can also use (if you have) any takao class (takao as the best), suzutsuki, kitakaze, noshiro and isuzu retrofit
@@AdmiralNeldrin thanks for the tips, in the case of the IJN i do have some already that are good (Suzutsuki, Atago, Takao, Yukikaze) i guess i wanna strike up a balance (since i play on Auto i believe having 1 DD, 1 CL and 1 CA would be better, can't go for Azuma yet since im farming FDG, but i could use Takao/Atago, Jintsu & Yukikaze/Suzutsuki here.
On the Mixed Fleet i think when i dont' have much trouble i might make the Vanguard Kashino, San Diego & Bremerton usually, but if its tough then ill just switch Kashino for a DD or CA (im more of a CA guy since they don't rely on Torp damage, but that is my playstyle), might use Prince of Wales too since she buffs the EU ships.
I want to make a fleet with Azuma but I don't find any ship that fits with her.
What should I do ?
Azuma actually fits with most fleet comp unless you are aiming for faction-specific fleet comp.
She's a great tank like most PR heavy cruiser available right now

I think if you will be using QE, you should commit with full HMS fleet (royal navy). Tho, at the moment this is fine, if you are just in lower stages

exactly like her? nope. but if u didn't want to build a us fleet you could replace her with other tier 0 cv like enterprise & formidable and expect a similiar performance curve

Yes you can as long as they are royal navy if you are using queen elizabeth

Sure, you can have cleveland (or montpelier/birmingham, they are better than cleveland). You can check your exchange shop (in Build) to see if Sandy is available.
recommended ships? hmmm, it depends on what you have and on what stage you're in.
stage 1-9: any ships will do as long as you are overleveled
stage 10-11: probably proper fleet building required from here
stage 12-13: high AA and carriers are mandatory

Considering the stats and skill buff, cleveland has higher AA.
However:
cleveland have self FP debuff once AA mode is activated
while Birmingham have self FP buff when red skill is activated
Another thing you want to consider is cleveland has team buff while Birmingham have self Evasion buff

I have oathed 3 and have 3 rings still. I haven't paid for any, but I also have been playing since the very first day. I think they give a ring out every year, at the very least.
I am new (4days playing) I got from event Veneto and Aquila and they are my base ships for the other spot in the back I have Saratoga, Nelson, Pennsylvania, Erebus, Long Island, Arizona, Shouhou and others I believe are not worth to mention and can't decide from them, in the vanguard I have Portland, Javelin (my starter) and I am using Maestrale for now because the buff from Veneto, I know I will get my Prinz Eugen from 8-days log and I have 7,8k event points of 8k for Abruzzi, I also have Indianapolis and I am not sure what to put then????? I feel like Maestrale isn't good enough for my main fleet and I am working in the Portland retrofit then she is my tank but I will get soon Prinz and Abrucci and not sure if using a 3 cruiser front??? 2 cruisers + javelin??? then I am CONFUSE which ones keep in the main fleet, I am also working in a Fletcher fleet low oil cost to frame and farming for Phoenix because I have Erubus then can use a zombie or a Fletcher fleet to farm, but all in the game takes time and right now my main problem is I used Tennesse at the beginning bc didn't had a BB and now get in shape and level up Saratoga Nelson or any other is hard to catch Veneto lvl 85 Aquila lvl 72 and I used event points for Oil to keep leveling up and using exercising to get some quick xp but I am lost don't know which ships to prioritize I like all of them :S but cant use all of them at same time :S please can any give me some advice?
Since you are just starting out, any ship that you like will do. Once you reach higher commander level, there are plenty of methods to level up meta/top tier ships quickly.
If you really like to use meta ship already then, venetto aquila and abruzzi will do ( i hope you can buy abruzzi soon)
Saratoga or Arizona will do for that last backline slot.
(long explanation: Arizona because BB are more useful at early stages. At later stages, CV/CVLs are more needed due to high ACV requirement. Either of them will do but I will more likely to use Saratoga here due to the buff she gives to your frontlines.)
For your frontline, I suggest go for Portland + Javelin + Abruzzi. (use anyone while waiting to buy abruzzi).
the rest will go to your 2nd fleet (Nelson, arizona, Prinz, + any 3 you like )
Some Notes:
1. Don't mind the oil consumption, there are a lot of oil rewards at EASY Rookie. I don't really recommend running oil efficient fleet, especially at early stages. It's a waste of EXP points. Only use oil efficient fleet when farming for specific ship/equipment/event points for whole day. Which you also need powerful equipment too.
2. Again, at early stages, any ships you like using will do. You don't really need to think of proper fleet composition until later stages of the game
@@AdmiralNeldrin First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH for answering me, definitely underrated youtube channel you have a lot of great videos that really helps me up to improve in the game, I like your advice ;3, right now I am happy because I got my Abruzzi and still few days to get a second copy, My Flagship Veneto is now Lvl 90 but I m afraid and in panic because I don't have another copy of her and I am stuck because only allows me to use 1 MarkII of the 2 materials I have 4 MarkII but doesn't allows me to use 2 of them to limit break her and this issue made me rethink my whole plan :S because means Aquila (now lvl 70 already broken limit for 80) and Abruzzi (lvl24) will get stuck as well at 90 because I don't believe be able to get super rare pulls frequently this absolutely mined my morale and my love for my Italian fleet :'( they will stuck forever at 90 because they are event limited and after event ends if I don't get more copies of them I will need to switch to another fleet and also question my resolve to keep playing the game because that means this will happen again in the next events and I will be simple losing my time working in half limit break fleets, I am stuck my Saint Louis in the oven, My Queen Elizabeth is trying to comfort me besides Nelson whispering me we will be fine because we only need to pull one more strong piece like Illustrious or Hood for a royal Navy fleet, while my Portland is saying come on let's bring Arizona Saratoga in the back I will tank and we have other good light American cruisers and destroyers and who Knows maybe an Enterprise fall in love with us and join us with a Phoenix and THE NUMBER 1 he he (Sandy) then right now my moralke is super down and I am really sorry to bombar you with all my crazy thoughts but you probably the ONLY ONE youtuber really willing to help us (new players) all the other just talk about a lot of things we don't have and will take us for ever to get :S

trying to get the carrier catapult and the fighters in the Fox mines we end getting the FOXES O.o wasn't my intention :S because I don't have other Sakura empire ships :S literally almost NONE sakura I only have 1 common DD and the Foxes O.o No idea what to do with them O.O

you have a lot of great ships in your dock. And somewhat you can build flexible fleet from them. For me you can go to this setup:
Unicorn, Hood, QE
Belfast, London, Javelin
or
Unicorn, Monarch, Warspite
London +
note:
-I think Javelin is better choice than Sheffield. London can buff whole vanguard.
- is more flexible since no QE to restrict your options to Royal navy only
-If you will go 2 CAs, make sure to have at least 1 DD, or your vanguard will be too slow moving.
-You can use Hood here if you think using Monarch is overkill (since you have Warspite here)
