10:19 is one of the most important part of the swing - especially when trying to fix issues with the ball sailing long. I think many coaches overlook this as well. Thanks for pointing it out great video!
You have no clue how awesome you are! You probably know you’re awesome, but you are beyond awesome! You helped me and my husband 10X our game!!! We’ve been sending our “arm on a ‘lone mission’” (your words 😊) because we’ve heard coaches say ‘C-prep’, Nike swoosh prep, racket take back and so many more on our forehand. You explained everything in such a sensible way! You are a Godsend. Thank you so much! More power to you and your channel! Wishing you heaps of blessings! 😊🏆🏅🥇
Best instructions ever! So many checkpoints to know if you are doing it right. I have been struggling to change my technique from pushing the ball to topspin but could not get it right as I did not have all the checkpoints. Thanks to you Vincent, I got my aha moment today! It’s so effortless and looks so clean, unbelievable!
I think this is more common sence because some teachers practise that we should stay low during the swing forward, can it be beacuse of balance or could it be because it's easier to mishit when you "get up" into toe position at the moment of hit? But your variation feels more powerful in converting the energy of the legs into kinetic energy and forward power. To catch the racket seems to be individual and not so important as long as you get ready for next splitstep and readyposition? Educational and very good video, Thanks!
And also how to adjust the pace of the forehand for example going over how to control or change the pace of the ball to either hit with slow, average, or fast pace?
Many coaches advise to catch the racket over your shoulder, like Serena Williams, Dominic Thiem, and many other pros. They say it's "the most important tip" they can give. How do you reconcile that with the below the shoulder finish you advocate ?
I think it all depends on the ball you're trying to hit. Below the shoulder is a flatter shot. The higher up you finish the more shape/loopy the shot will be. Nadal is a good example of doing both: When he's looking to drive a ball, he finishes below the shoulder or right at it. When he's trying to hit a heavy topspin, he'll finish even over the head with a buggy-whip.
In your teaser at the beginning your forehand looks totally different (like mine tbh). You open the racket early and your elbow doesn't look loose. I may be wrong. Can u elaborate how to get to a stretched arm? I have the impression that before rolling the shoulder against the clock you need to rotate it clockwise to initiate the stretched arm and don't open the racket to the side too early.
Hi Vincent, great video. The unit turn makes sense if the ball comes back in the general area where you're standing, but what if the ball moves around different parts of the court? I'm not sure how to incorporate the unit turn if the balls come fast on the other side of where you are. Can you cover this in a video please?
I'm not a coach so take my advise with a grain of salt but at least you'll get a reply :D. My coach teaches my like this: the first thing you do is - turn. Then run. So rather than side stepping to the ball along the baseline with the stomach towards the net, you should as soon as you see if it's a forehand or back hand, do the unit turn and then run, towards your position. When running your stomach should be entirely facing to the side, rather than towards the net. When you get in position, plant your feet and initiate the swing. If we say you get a deep forehand and you're a righty: Splitstep, unit turn, first step should be with the right foot out towards the right, You should push yourself with the left foot. Sprint along baseline. When in position, plant your right foot and either hit an open or closed stance.
The rule is prepare early (quick unit turn) Compact swing to hit the ball back (the faster the ball, the shorter the swing, kind of blocking) Use your body turn, not your arm to meet the ball.
Mr. Coach.. what about your left arm importance during your forehand? You have completely neglected I suppose though your Federer thumbnail got it right.😅During your unit turn back when hitting the ball.. you need balance and power.. try keeping left arm straight parallel to the floor.. and complete the swing.. you will the both the power and the base line landing. Now try without those straight left land.. you will notice a big difference .. no power and not deep enough!! 😊
He is teaching the ATP(men's tennis) style technique because that is what he understands the most. Don't be outraged, he is not saying "for men" to be a misogynist. Men and women have different techniques at the professional level.
As a woman you can do exactly the same , don’t worry. I have a 15 year old girl with a ATP forehand and she has to practice with men that’s how hard it goes
Try charging at the the end of first 30-days instead of pay now, then money back. Allow cancel on or before the first 30-days. You will likely get many more sign-ups. In other words, a free, no cc required, trial.
I am surprised by the idea of rising through the shot and being on your toes- I have been taught to stay down low through the shot and be grounded with weight transfer from back foot to front foot'
Hey man, check out the typo in the thumbnail. If this video gets enough views, you'll start taking flak for it... Especially since, "pusing" could probably be used as a joke at your expense if out on the right trolling hands. Feel free to delete this comment once you fix the problem and thanks for your great work 🙂.
preparation is very stiff and not allowing energy to flow. 'Patting a dog'? oh dear. And no rotation - neutral stance - oh dear. You don't get it - you don;t understand the laws of physics and how you use it to its optimum. sorry. a no go -
Unit turn? New concept? No been used in teaching for decades. Pat the dog? That might be one of the oldest teaching metaphors. Not a good one i might add. I get you're a young coach. Information is mostly correct. Sounds like im listening to someone read the stock market. Gotta be engaging and excite your clients to learn.

Love this! This fills in a lot of detail I’ve needed as an adult learner. I feel like a lot is presumed in my lessons & I need it ALL broken down 😂
One of the best forehand mechanism lesson.
Thanks!
Can you make a video on continuing the pace of ur hits so that you can hit the ball and create slow medium or fast pace?
Finally somebody in the tennis field talking real biomechanics about Tennis specifics..

The explanation works well with a non-native speaker like me. Thank you for your clear English voice.
Awesome lesson, Vicent ! Tks a lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing video! Really clear instructions, won my tennis match because of your tips. Many thanks

Great coaching
would like to see some tennis racquet reviews and comparisons. thanks

Perhaps experiment with both to recognize the advantages and disadvantages to each 🌍🐣🐥

You did everything right, but the best way , is to show us, from start to finish in one motion . In slow motion

@@nicolashornewall8800 Thanks mate that makes a lot of sense actually! Cheers
Sei bravissimo grazie!
Good video!
Great content- one question: can this technique be used to with an Eastern forehand grip? I'd rather not switch to a Western grip. Thanks!
Yes, the grip does not matter
Don't have to go Eastern to Western ... the best is right in the middle: semi-western!
In step 3, how do you prevent yourself from coming up too high before hitting? I have an issue of coming up and hitting into the net?
If the ball is half court and low , should I still employ this method to hit and normally my ball alway long in this suitation?
Why do a lot of the pros finish high or wrapping around the head when stretched-out really wide or doing a running FH? (especially Federer)
Can you make a video on hitting slow balls with very little to no pace?
Is this semi western or western grip?
Please demonstrate the full shot
It is demonstrated in the beginning of the video.
love this
good
How to handle/return fast incoming pace?
You have to shorten or compact everything in the swing. The ball already has pace and power, just have to redirect it.
The rule is
prepare early (quick unit turn)
Compact swing to hit the ball back (the faster the ball, the shorter the swing, kind of blocking)
Use your body turn, not your arm to meet the ball.
Wise and young coach👍

I was loving this up to the point where you said - this video is for MEN! Do you have different advice for the other 50% of the human race?

You need to follow what coach said, or you will get hurt like many wta players injuerd badly after switching to ATP forhand

I started doing this and my ball is still going wayyyy too long or won’t even clear the net. Any tips?
Change your grip to Western
They probably just need to attend your class.😊
I am surprised by the idea of rising through the shot and being on your toes- I have been taught to stay down low through the shot and be grounded with weight transfer from back foot to front foot'
Yes, in high-speed tennis, it is better to stay down.
Good but Your standard stance locks out . For most good players best standart stance is Semi .
Of course you need all stances depending on ....
I like belly bottom and the butt cap part. Thanks
👍👍👍
👍👍👍
At the contact point your hitting shoulder should be ahead of the non-hitting shoulder, not behind it as you demonstrated.

What? Unit turn is your own new concept??
So, it seems that Nadal has been wrong on his forehand his entire career 😅
dude, you spend too much time talking theory. people wants to see how to do it, not to listen your lengthy and boring explanation
like
If Kendall Roy was a tennis instructor
preparation is very stiff and not allowing energy to flow. 'Patting a dog'? oh dear. And no rotation - neutral stance - oh dear. You don't get it - you don;t understand the laws of physics and how you use it to its optimum. sorry. a no go -

And the windshield wiper is from MTM ‘s Wagner. All old stuff.
I think he is being sarcastic. It is obviously not a new concept
So y’all are all 50 years old
He's definitely engaging. What do you want him to do? A tap dance? Honestly, the negativity....so unfortunate
