First time hearing this work, very appealing, flowing and melodious. It was a pleasant surprise to hear a familiar melody pop up in the 3rd mvt here which is shared in the clarinet and viola concerto op.88 - 1st mvt. I wonder which piece came first.

I just checked up on this - concerto was written in 1911, this quintet was probably finished in 1919 right near the end of his life.

Interesting how Max Bruch also used the 2nd theme of the 3rd movement in one of the 8 pieces for Viola, Clarinet and Piano
09:41 reminds me of a part on one of Bruch's symphonies.
It's a direct quote from the second theme of the 1st movement of Bruch's Concerto for Clarinet and Viola Op. 88 (1911)!
Symphony No.3, last movement. The symphony came earlier and this was composed afterwards.
