First time hearing this work, very appealing, flowing and melodious. It was a pleasant surprise to hear a familiar melody pop up in the 3rd mvt here which is shared in the clarinet and viola concerto op.88 - 1st mvt. I wonder which piece came first.
What a stunning performance! The power, passion and nuance completely blew away any previous misconceptions which I may have had about this beautiful piece of music. Thank you so much Ye, Susanne, Tomek, Cristi and Mischa (and, of course, Max Bruch!) for the enjoyment which I will derive from this recording. You are incredible!
Beautiful music, beautifully played! So alive and passionate! The second movement sounds like the violin concerto. Rewarding to listen, as I imagine it is to play it!
Such a wonderful Max Bruch : String Quintet. Dazzling performance! Pure joy!
The hour is late - but I shall return again to this marvelous performance - DANKE!
Our pleasure!
We are happy that you like it.
This ensemble is undoubtedly belongs to the top leagues of chamber music world. Highly recommend.
Erst 2006 gefunden! Die Werkeinführung in der Beschreibung ist auch lesenswert. Wunderschön, vielen vielen Dank!

I just checked up on this - concerto was written in 1911, this quintet was probably finished in 1919 right near the end of his life.
Beautiful. So much movement in this. These musicians are fantastic!!!
Thank you! 🤗
Fabelhaft Musiker!Bravi!!!

Maravilloso!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 ✨✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Interesting how Max Bruch also used the 2nd theme of the 3rd movement in one of the 8 pieces for Viola, Clarinet and Piano
Grandios !
Amazing performance thanks for the upload
09:41 reminds me of a part on one of Bruch's symphonies.
It's a direct quote from the second theme of the 1st movement of Bruch's Concerto for Clarinet and Viola Op. 88 (1911)!
Symphony No.3, last movement. The symphony came earlier and this was composed afterwards.
Amazing performance!
Thank you! We're glad that you like our performance 😊

BRAVI ! (Ottima ripresa sonora).
Felicitaciones; magníficos intérpretes de una hermosa y poco difundida obra de cámara del genio de Max Bruch
Could someone tell me where I can find the sheet music for this piece?? I looked it up on IMSLP but it wasn't there…
13:08 avid fans of Bruch might recognize this melody!
