2016 and 2017 were some kickass years for thrash --Division of Blood by Suicidal Angels (If you've found this video I probably don't need to explain) --Mass Confusion by Dust Bolt (They have some sick riffs, kind of like Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies' illegitimate child) --Welcome to the Green Zone by Godslave (Sick Germanic thrash, really headbangable. See "Demon" from this album) --Ride Forth by Exmortus (These guys are like a thrash/death orchestra, some really amazing musicianship without compromising badassery) --Extermination by Condition Critical (Chunky bass, tight riffs, killer vocals \m/) --Braindead by Lost Society (Most mature album from them to date. Songs like "Riot" and "Rage me Up" will make your neck snap from headbanging. Really memorable riffs) --Line of Fear by Blaakyum (These guys come from Lebanon, respect+. Vocals remind me of Testament, guitar reminds me of Megadeth) --Terminal Redux by Vektor (Technical thrash. Very technical thrash) --Woe to the Vanquished by Warbringer (YOU HAVE THE RIGHT... TO REMAIN VIOLENT! Shit, this album impressed the hell outta me. Their best album yet. Some instant classics on here like "Remain Violent" and "Divinity of Flesh." Memorable riffs) --The Omniclasm by Lich King (Like "Handle With Care" era Nuclear Assault. Some really good crossover with chunky bass and complimenting riffs. Can almost hold its own against Municipal Waste) --From Blue to Black by Crisix (HIGHLY RECCOMEND, is a little more intricate than a lot of the other modern thrash bands, but headbangable as hell. Thrash some Spain) --Siberian Meat Grinder by Siberian Meat Grinder (These guys are kinda out there. Imagine if AC/DC produced thrash... it would probably sound something like this. They have backing choruses that remind me of them. The album conjures images of being on a old ship where the crew is exclusively made up of metalheads) --Conformicide by Havok (Some weird production, and taking a small step into the technical thrash zone, this album is a lil different. But it has some good songs, like "Circling the Drain" and "Peace is in Pieces") --Crush the Sublime Gods by Doctor Living Dead! (Have some good riffs but are trying too hard to be like Suicidal Tendencies, and not really pulling it off) --Kneel Before None by Death of Kings (They have an old school vibe, harsh vocals, album was featured on Metal Injection) Even old school bands had some good releases --Brotherhood of the Snake by Testament --The Evil Divide by Death Angel --For All Kings by Anthrax probably deserves a place on the list too, it kicks 10x more ass than Metallica's new album --World Gone Mad by Suicidal Tendencies Am I missing anything? Not in any particular order. But if you like new wave thrash like this song and have been living under a rock, check out some of these albums. For me personally I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to thrash this year, and Vektor has been one of the few bands in the genre to get my attention. I like them for probably the same reason that you describe, that they have long, shifting songs that aren't just straight-forward head-bangers all the time, though they still remain heavy. I love the riffs that they come up with. I'll be sure to check the other releases on this list though - should never pass up some good thrash.

One of the fastest heavy store releasing systems on the planet! These have been upgraded many times over the years. Still a bad ass aircraft.
