    fyi tip. to keep your solder iron from getting too hot after letting it sit, use it on a scrap piece of leather first before going back to work on the piece so as not to over burn your work as what happened in the vid when he started burning the "C".

      I would do a pencil sketch on paper of the idea you have the use a practice piece of leather before you try it on the purse.

    wow looks so nice! I tried it myself some time ago but I was totally put off by the lines not being consistent (like getting bigger and smaller dots here and there) but I think it's just something that has to be accepted while doing pyro on leather.
    But also I used another tip, the one that resembles a blade, it makes the edges of the cut really nasty... Not recommending

    • @shout2g
      @shout2g 10 месяцев назад

      As an artist, I’ve always accepted that, whether painting, carving, etching or burning, the lines will vary. And, to me... that shows that it’s handmade. If a design has symmetry, it will still be beautiful, despite the thinner or fatter lines/dots, etc. When a die is cast into the leather, it looks fine, but it’s not personal. Thanks, for the tip on the blade accessory - I’m new at this, so I appreciate you sharing that.

    Hello Bruce, My burning tool came today with 6 tips but I don't have the fine tip that you are using in this video! My tip is fat and wide and hard to use. Can I buy more tips or different tips? I would like a tip you are using in the video! Thanks! Jacque

    Hello Bruce, My new tips came today! Got the tip I needed! It works just fine but when I burn my leather it is not getting that real dark black color like you get! I can not get it to darken! do you know whats going on! I used dry leather now it is a darker color but not as dark as I would like it to be! Thank you! Jacque

    • @cheaneysaddles
      @cheaneysaddles  6 лет назад +1

      I have noticed to burn dark designs I must go extremely slow to get the color I want. If there is any dark buildup on the tip I clean it off with a finger nail file.
