Great video🎉🎉🎉 In the 30 years I've been wrenching, I have always been amazed by the amount of people that turn their nose at used tools. Whether it's yard sale, auction, online, or whatever they act like the stuff has the plague. Most all of my best tool scores came from used deals. It's just crazy to me.
Amen! I've been to auctions and watched a guy buy a whole row of small short school buses. Why? I asked him. He said for the few hundred bucks he was paying for each, he was getting county maintained engine and transmission identical to what his dump trucks used. I understood I was probably standing next to a wise and wealthy man.
When I was 16 and learning to drive I'd drive my mother and grandmother around to garage sales, didnt take me long to realize there were a ton of old tools at garage sales on the cheap.
If I had a million dollar shop I still could not fabricate even a fraction of what you accomplish. Your talent comes from both skills and imagination, very few people could do what you do, especially those who claim they can.
Hell yeah, taking a misguided negative comment, addressing it while also generating content which in turn is making money off a hater! Nice!!! Keep up the good work.
I miss auctions and swap meets. In winter everyone goes in till spring. And I look fwd to your videos. Julie looked to cute earlier, I hope and Pray she is doing better!
Great scores on the new to you tools. Loved the video. Man, it sucks when you get a crappy comment and not sure why people have to be downers but very cool how you turned into positivity. You do you and know that you have lots of people that support you and enjoy what your doing. You give me inspiration, that's for sure. Keep it up man! Cheers!
I had an uncle whose favorite activity was attending farm auctions all over Kansas. I remember him buying a barn. Me and my cousin (and the local town drunk) demolished it and my uncle sold the lumber over the next year.
Wow, what cool timing. I purchase a cherry picker and pipe bender from a local auction for $110 for both, now I don't have to borrow my dads or my friends. Awesome Video!
I love auctions. Estate Sales are fun in this area, but a day spent at an auction with a BBQ sandwich in hand, is like a vacation for me. The busted caster was really the deal of the day....
In my passion/hobby what ever you want to call it, I have done the same at auctions. Knowledge is power. I have bought a fair bit of machinist tooling, some I needed or could use the rest sold or traded off to friends for something I could use. The last good buy I made was a “scrap pile” had a lot of new drops that were clean. In amongst the mess was a bunch of gears all stacked up and fastened together they were for a couple of lathes I knew for sure. Along with that was some tooling that I knew exactly what it was as well. Bought the whole pile for less than $100, had the gears and tooling sold before I loaded it up, cleared a cool $1600 that day. As you mentioned some folks think we just went out and buy stuff, my equipment and gear has been amassed/accumulated 28:15 over 30+ years. FYI I despise paying full retail.
Thanks for sharing. You guys do great work. You do not need to l have the high dollar toy to do a great job. I have wrench for many years and have always looked for the deals on tools. And yes some times you get bit, but some times its just a easy fix to get it up and going. Thanks again for sharing.
Anthony you and your wife are doing a great job and your son I hit you up about a year ago this is Lonnie from Michigan I buy a lot of used tools also and fix them up all my welders are used I wasn’t gonna send you a picture of my car because I’ve been moving kind of slow on it but you guys have a good Christmasafter this video I’m sending you a picture you’ll notice some of the work is your designYou guys have a merry Christmas and keep up the good work
Ignore the knockers, they're jealous or lazy, I used to be one of those doubters about doing it on a budget.... but I'm there myself now. Hardly ever buy new now and all bought for a pittance from auction or Marketplace. I hope you are both well, (especially Julie, hope she is feeling good) and merry Christmas to you all from Somerset, England, ❤❤❤❤
@HardCoreFab it really is, even though it's winter solctace and yet another storm. 😆. But at the moment, we live at the top of a hill on the coast, we can watch the sun set over the tropic of Capricorn on a clear night. It's beautiful but wet n cold n windy. (I'll try and send a pic.) But no complaints, God bless, Joe
I love tool auctions and the back rows of old tools at the flea markets. Some people think they have little boutiques with their prices, but there's always some deals. I never pass a clamp, coffee can of drill bits, files ermtc.
Lol a million in tools might be nice. I've been in your old shop, watched your videos and seen how innovative you are and how your able to accomplish what you set out to. Your shop is extremely nice and well equipped. But IMO your talent and knowledge definitely is the biggest part of why you can accomplish what you do, not a million dollars in tools and a shop. FWIW I guessed cherry picker about 1/2 way thru showing it, what do I win😂 Merry Christmas to you all!
Haters gonna hate. Dude prolly hasn't even subscribed to your channel. The real followers know what you have been through to get to where you are at. Merry CHRISTmas Hardcore fab
You made out good at that auction. And they guy that said he could do better he definitely don’t know you because you definitely don’t have a million dollar shop or tools and you have worked your ass off to get where you are today. So people should speak if they don’t know what they are talking about.
I have no idea what some of those tools are used for but that's why your a gifted fabber and I"M NOT!! I appreciate the fact you are frugal with your finances especially in your type of business which can be prosperous at times and lean during others. DO NOT throw the chop saw away I feel it can be fixed but that's just me!! I LOVE your channel and enjoy watching you take a piece of metal and turn it into something beautiful and useful and that my friend is a gift!
Most things you can do with a machine you can do by hand ,but a hell of a lot easier when you have the machines, congratulations on all the new toy's 😂😅 I'm jealous 😂😅 na wouldn't fit them in with what I got 😂😅 hope your wife is doing well, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, Have a Happy Festive Season,
It also help if you have some friends with the same interests as you, if you find something you don't need but they want you can take a phonecall and help them out, and the other way around.
You don't have to justify anything to anyone about what you buy or how you run your business. I don't in mine. My Mrs rarely asks why I buy something or do something. At the last auction that we went to for the AG class at the school, I was buying stuff just to run it up. I got caught with a 26' camper for $400. She said we don't need another camper. I told her that I would sell it. She said ok. I sold it 2 days later for $1000. It more than paid for my entire auction buys. Lol. I was questioned by my previous wife once about a car that I bought. I turned that $700 car into $3500. She didn't question much after that. Anyway, you do you. Good buys.
F#^~ that dude, Anthony u just keep on making the content that we as subscribers love and wait weekly to watch, I used to get excited about my John Deere magazines that come once a month, know I get excited for hardcore fab on Wednesdays
You hand punch step flanger might oil,I had 2 that I bought both didn’t work put them aside and was going to get a rebuild kit watch a RUclips video and took screw out added oil and both worked fine already had oil on hand don’t remember what kind it needs, air tool or compressor, jack oil have them all.
Over the last years used tools have been selling at great prices.....in part because guys could not find people to work on their houses...so they bought the tools, did a few jobs then sold the house for 200,000 more than they paid six years earlier. They wanted the house sold, they never wanted the tools.
That person that said he could do as good as you is a jealous person you are an awesome fabricator keep up the good work and have a merry Christmas!!!

For sure I should have add that in the list too!
I've gotten a lot of my tools for "free" buying all the tools at a garage or yard sale and reselling what I don't need or want.
Brother you have rapidly rose to one of 5-top fave channels.
If I had a million dollar shop I still could not fabricate even a fraction of what you accomplish.

Thanks for the kind words!
If I had three times the resources you have I could not even begin to do anything you do. You are gifted and uniquely talented.😊
Thanks you Larry!
Super well said Larry

Thank you so much Lonnie! I can't wait to see the picture! Also thanks again for dinner and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Really good guidance regarding auctions, thanks
Great trip to an auction, marketplace can also be a good place sometimes, you just have to be patient and look for deals!

You don't have to explain why you have what you have. Obviously you've worked hard to be where your at. Keep being you and drive on driver.

Before a million dollars arrives there are 500 thousand decisions that need to be made. You made the right choices in life while others did not.

I wish we had auctions around me still, mostly completely gone now
If I had cash I would be after the stuff you showed at the end. The break, the planishing hammer, welding clamps, English wheel, oxy cel tanks.
GenX 👊🏻😎 We are a different breed brother..
100%

Gotta save money wherever you can. I love used tools!
100%
Bud Palmer's, my mom used to drag me there every Friday night
Heck you can build a project anywhere. With nearly nothing. Some of my favorite builds I did in my driveway. Sounds like he has a lack of drive.
I have to stick with market place. I can't understand a thing they were saying. Lol Thanks for the video.
that cut off saw might only be a simple fix of new brushes or a bad wire. Might be worth a few minutes of trouble shooting...
The saw might just need a starting capacitor
I have bought tools at auctions and keep what I want and sell the rest.
I like what you do
You hand punch step flanger might oil,I had 2 that I bought both didn’t work put them aside and was going to get a rebuild kit watch a RUclips video and took screw out added oil and both worked fine already had oil on hand don’t remember what kind it needs, air tool or compressor, jack oil have them all.

AWESOME
Over the last years used tools have been selling at great prices.....in part because guys could not find people to work on their houses...so they bought the tools, did a few jobs then sold the house for 200,000 more than they paid six years earlier.
They wanted the house sold, they never wanted the tools.
Granger has the electric motor for that saw.
Hmm I'll look into that!
Probably just needs new brushes in that chop saw
I normally build my own big tools.
Damn knew I should of went to that auction, wife would of killed me for dragging more shit home but atleast I would of met you in person.
There is always next time!
Was that the same guy who told you to " put an LS in it? ".
I guess we can ask him,
...actually we can't, his mom called him upstairs for dinner.
LOL
Ignore the haters 🤯
The saw may just need new brushes
Maybe it had wires hanging out of it so so someone was already in it. Oh Well!
Wait till they learn about purple wave or hibid
LOL
Those haters are people who just want attention and more than likely blowoffs.
Yes sir!
