I agree about your sentiments on John Barry. Too bad illness kept him from creating the soundtrack for Licence to Kill., as the music recorded was pretty weak.
@@lukasnummer1 Michael kamen did a fantastic job. This is also one of my favourite tracks too. I have high hopes for hans zimmer in no time to die, especially since we're getting another trailer today.
Sin ninguna duda john Barry fue el mejor compositor para la saga 007 y uno de los mejores compositores de cine junto a Jerry Goldsmith y John Williams los 3 dioses de bandas sonoras originales
Mine was when he started gunning down his own army and having the time of his life. It's like he was having more fun killing his own men then enacting his evil diabolic plan or even trying to kill Bond. He had a naive childish laugh as he were gunning them down, I thought this moment was unique amongst the entire series. I mean you had guys like Blofeld and Number 2 killing their own men to reaffirm their dominance and shit typical villain style but Zorin truly gave no fucks
I've been looking for this theme for ages, it plays over the DVD menu for the movie and it's what Bond music should sound like. Thankyou for putting it up. Roger Moore will always be the best Bond to me, he's a Legend !! Christopher Walken is awesome at everything he ever does, including being Max Zorin. I wish Bond would go back to being like this.
This theme, as well as Golden Gate Fight and Snow Job are without a doubt the high points of this movie. These make for some of the best fight themes I've ever heard. I only wish the verion of the fight in Stacey's house were released on the soundtrack.
Christopher Walken and Grace Jones was amazing in this movie Roger Moore and Louis Maxwell say goodbye james bond and Miss Moneypenny in fantastic role Great job john barry
I was 15 years old when I watched the movie “a view to a kill” in Nairobi (old 20th Century Cinema Hall).....this track stuck in my mind for years. I was later to discover John Barry when I purchased a CD of his hits in 2014...definitely a Musical Genius...👏👏👏
This movie was the very first time I'd ever seen Christopher Walken. There was something about him that told me to follow his cinematic carer. And to date, he has not failed to disappoint!
@Alstom1995 - I take your valid point but the Bond theme was used quite a bit in OHMSS (beginning, fight at Piz Gloria and end titles). Connery's films also utilised it alot and yes they had the 007 theme and it was also used in Moonraker. I just love the James Bond theme in all it's formats - makes Bond unique!
@DarthConnis Nope. the one after; The Living Daylights. It is a combination of electronic instrumentation and funky beats with his classic brass. And it is often proclaimed to be his best score since OHMSS.
I know that part was Pretty Weird but yes he was Hysterical.and that was a good Bond Movie to and Christopher Walken as The Villain in one of these movies was awesome.
this wasnt the worst bond, the worst was diamonds are forever surely... at least this had moore, decent music, and an atmosphere thanks to walken and grace jones
@kaneundertaker4life Uh, back in 1985 James Bond was still supposedly the same guy we had seen in Dr.No in 1962, him being in his 50's made sense. It wasn't until Pierce Brosnan and Goldeneye in 1995 when James Bond truly became a character that never ages. In For your eyes only James Bond visits the grave of his dead wife from On her majesty's secret service. People in the 70's and 80's generally loved Moore as Bond otherwise they wouldn't have let him make 7 movies.
Of all the 'bread and butter' soundtracks barry ever did, i'd say this is by far his best. Argue over the quality of the actual film as much as you want, but the mix of strident, defiant and mellow music works perfectly here.
Well that simply isn't true. Take the very first 007 movie for example. Dr No may be the title character, but he barely appears in the film until the final act.
@deusirae76 Nah, Die Another Day kicks the arse arse of Casino Royale. A lot more memorable, and it plays to his strengths, in other words - seizures of electronics, and digital manipulation of the orchestra.
AVTAK is a underrated bond movie, surely not the worst. It had good music and a classic bond villain, Diamonds Are Forever and Die Another Day are worse and were also swansongs (Connery, Brosnan). It has some ridiculous scenes and yeah Stacey was annoying and Moore was old, but I don`t get all the hate for it.
sort of...they both have their moments though. I found Diamonds are forever to be the most boring. & everyone says View to a Kill was crap but i loved it as a kid.
You know Ian, when I first saw Thunderball I was actually disappointed. I found the plot overly complicated and many parts just undeniably boring. It gets all the love from fans because of the scope but Thunderball is actually the weakest of the first four...Dr No, From Russia with Love and Goldfinger are much better. IMO
I agree, Thunderball is over-rated; however, the music, style, and the set pieces are terrific examples of 60s kitsch. As a Bond film, not the best by any means, but as a celebration of the Swinging Sixties, 1st Class.
R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore (1927-2017)
My favorite Bond dies first! It's a shame!
@@Fanfiktion1988 mines too 😞 better than Sir Sean Connery

I like Michael Kamen's soundtrack for "Licence to Kill". It fits the Americana atmosphere.

James bond, Hollywoods greatest action hero
My favourite bit is when Zorin is looking at Bond's file on that 1980s ZX Spectrum computer and chuckles when he reads that Bond is highly dangerous!
One of my favorite parts too. Trademark Christopher Walken chuckle.

@@BluBoulzor definitely made him one of the greatest villians, he was truly a mad lad
And the whole time he is pretending to be processing data about horses.
John Barry, the cornerstone of this entire franchise.
Definitely hearing some On Her Majesty's Secret Service in there.
And that's not a bad thing, that song kicks ass.
You're right about that!! the one from OHMSS seems like it was missing something though.. this score hits the right notes
There's a recording where the two themes are mixed together. They blend nicely, too!

"More. More powaaah!"
That fire truck chase scene!
This is the music that'll play at my funeral as my coffin leaves the church.
A axe seems like a fitting weapon for Zorin, especially with that piercing laugh of his
i like how he conects the clasic with modern music
He's Dangerous - definitely
Holy understatement , Batman.....he he ;)
"Swing Me Back"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christopher is da bomb!
more cowbell!!
I love that Movie Im a loyal bond fan
'Where's the fire?' 'On ya rear end!'
😳 👏🏽 good one 👌🏽
I really like the guitar, it made the movie awesome.
'More...MORE POWER!'
+Londonfogey Moore! Moore powah!
This music is from the firetruck chase. Golden Gate Fight is with the blimp.
I thought this was from when he fights the goons at Sutton's house with the rock salt gun
they're both very similar, but this one is shorter. SWING ME BACK
''FULL THRUTTLE''
Rip Roger Moore you will be missed

The first minute is so great.....the tension...it's exciting and dangerous. I can just visualize the fight on the bridge!
'Do come along Tibbitt!'
I think people are only now realising how amazing a villain Walken was as Zorin.
Respect 4 John Barry..He is the Best Composer In the World
I listen to this everyday. Everything in this track I love.
I´m crying now... Goodbye Barry. God bless you. Your great scores lives forever.
The triple bass drum hit at 0:06 really gives it that extra "oomph", something I never really noticed before.
a view to a kill has the best Bond score of the 80s!
OMG, I just went back in time to my childhood days! Lovely tune.
That was a great scream by Stacey !
@NJshoreDJ I'm having a you tube tearathon too, I'm pleased that John Barry had such an Impact on Someone else's childhood too
Damn I LOVE that electric guitar!
I love this song it fitted perfectly with the ending fight on the blimp in the movie.
Thank you for everything John! You were ,are and will be always the best!
John Barry : best composer ever!
Go get him, GO!
"Max! MAAAAAAAAX!!!!"
"LOL!"
This music is thrilling and tantalizing! it goes perfect with James bond
Best theme in the film. Love how this kicks-in when the two police cars smash into each other and get stuck! It fits that whole chase scene so well.
LOVE IT,
Roger Moore R.I.P.
Go get him....... GO!
That's my favourite line too...
Let's be honest, Christopher Walken was born to play a Bond Villain.
Rutger Hauer would have done a great job tho.
it´s just amazing...
This soundtrack just fits to any action scene whatsoever! From stunts to fights to chases! ANYTHING!!
Bond film composer John Barry dies aged 77. Thanks and goodbye to John!!

sweet sounding song from the movie.

same here the guitars are great they express the height and situation on the bridge perfectly.

Like loads of times, also in the new DVD menu
Max Zorin was one of the best villains of the franchise. No words.
Right on schedule.
tealeafandco This music would fit good to the mine slaughter
great john barry theme - nothing to say
One last time for Roger Moore. John Barry will never you let you down. The Bond series ended for me with this movie.

Roger Moore the best
0:17 you can hear the firetruck
The echo reminds me of the music in the lethal weapon movies
So good
without a doubt.

Sheriff J.W. Pepper-esque SFPD Captain: To all units intercept murder suspect in stolen fire truck. He maybe armed and he's sure dangerous!

And this is how I became a fan of Christopher Walken.
Good thing they didn't give David Bowie the role of Max Zorin.
Go and watch the movie "Labyrinth", David Bowie is an excellent actor and proved he can play a villain.
Bowie would have gotten the role if there hadn't been other movie commitments he had to fulfill.
hey...John Barry and James Bond have the same initials!
This is the last film that he worked on?
He may be armed and he sure dangerous
Where can i get this song? I can't find it anywhere...
These Bond movies are never about Bond..always about the villains.
Well that simply isn't true. Take the very first 007 movie for example. Dr No may be the title character, but he barely appears in the film until the final act.
