I honestly can't think of a way they top this album. Living Infinite from first to last song is an absolute masterpiece. Not a single bad or weak tune on the entire thing.
Absolutely! And Strid as well. I only learned of David Andersson's death today. And at some point I thought that it must be pretty tough for him especially, bc I think Andersson was probably his closest creative partner over the last decade. They wrote most of current era Soilwork's and NFO's material, much of it together. And working together creatively can be a pretty intimate thing, so I think in David Andersson he probably lost someone incredibly important in his life. And thinking further, he had already had to part ways with an big creative partner before in Peter Wichers. So I really hope he can recover from this and keep his spirits high. All the best wishes to him and everybody affected by David Andersson's way too early passing ❤
Great song guys! Love the direction you chose for this album. This tune is a mega fretboard workout. The guitars just barely let off the gas pedal in a few spots, making this song a true exercise in finger agility. Keep it coming guys!
The thing about labeling subgenres is that they are accurate descriptions for people who know what they mean and what to expect from them. For instance, Personally, I don't like most Death Metal. However, I love Melodic Death Metal. It's easier than listing out Death Metal bands I dislike and Melodic Death Metal bands I do like. Yes, overarching genres are valuable, but for people who know what they are looking for, subgenres are considerably more useful.
It excels at blending the two into a unique sound that, in my opinion, surpasses the sound of both death and power. Not to mention, with them both being opposite extremes of metal genre spectrum, you're going to get some pretty cheesy lyrical content and theatrics. Melodic Death Metal is considerably more, for the lack of a better term, grounded in reality.
I do know that you were talking about more than breakdowns that's why I talked about growls and such. It doesn't need to be at a certain heaviness to be considered melodic death metal, it needs to exhibit the traits of melodic death metal, such as riffs and guitar harmonies, which this band most certainly does.
post-clayman in flames is my favorite band ever. Them and Dark tranquillity and insomnium. I dont listen to as much soilwork as i used to but this album sounds like it'll be dope as fuck. I actually just listened to dissections most recent for the first time ever and i was actually impressed, even though im a big fan of their first 2 black metalish albums. but yea, it doesnt have to sound like gothenburg style to be good, look at the original mdm, carcass, who are in fact from GB,just my 2 cents
that's not what I meant to say. There are so many people whining about how bad spelling and grammar is on the internet, but most of them seem to forget, that far more than 50% of the people here don't write in their native language. I would even say that it's great to see, how people achieve to communicate even if they're from totally different countries and only have their school-taught english in common. I am german, I enjoy this very much, and I think no one should bitch about a mistake:)
A Lioness and a Vixen were talking together about their young, as mothers will, and saying how healthy and well-grown they were, and what beautiful coats they had, and how they were the image of their parents. "My litter of cubs is a joy to see," said the Fox; and then she added, rather maliciously, "But I notice you never have more than one." "No," said the Lioness grimly, "but that one's a lion." - Quality, not quantity.
When you break down music and it's components it's important to label things. Is it a freezer or is it a fridge? Who cares man, it chills stuff down, its a "chill-down-all-my-condoments". Just enjoy the chilled condoments and let it be? That wasn't a good analogy, but hope you got my point :d
I like the dath growler guy, and that's more than can be said for other death metal bands like wintersun or frosttide. and the singer is amazing. I wish the singer was featured a LOT more than he is. or are they the same guy? rare, but it happens.
My postulates, if you were going to properly name them or find some organization for them, would be something like a combination between The Lion's Share and The Kansas City Shuffle.
I think the living infinite is Soil's finest album to date. The old schoolers will prolly disagree, but I dont think Im alone here
The only problem is that it has some filler boring tracks imo
@@omegazx7236 Not many, but let's be honest, the bar is pretty high.
One of the best albums, so many melodies out of this world. Cant desciribe it :D
@@omegazx7236 yeah, for a 20 track, double CD. There is so much more great musical content on this album than so many others from any band.
there is a metal band called Soil so - careful there
I honestly can't think of a way they top this album. Living Infinite from first to last song is an absolute masterpiece. Not a single bad or weak tune on the entire thing.
they almost did with the ride majestic imo !!!!
I agree! Apart from Owls Predict, Oracles Stand Guard... the weirdest shit ever
Soilwork deserves 50x the listens they get.
Hell yeah

Definitely one of most awesomely consist metal bands around. This whole album rapes face
1:17 to 1:31 is the best goddamn guitar I've ever heard in my life. I can't NOT headbang to that part. \m/
the guitar on the panic broadcast and a predator's portrait is fucking stellar. listened to any of that lately?
You're right, that part goes so fucking hard 😍😍😍
Perfect blend of speed, heaviness, melody and the GROOVES!
Best album

One of my favorite soilwork songs ❤
This is so amazing I actually teared up a little when the solos hit me. Oh, how I've missed Soilwork.
Great song guys! Love the direction you chose for this album. This tune is a mega fretboard workout. The guitars just barely let off the gas pedal in a few spots, making this song a true exercise in finger agility. Keep it coming guys!
The abnormal can never become the normal, but the extraordinary can become orthodox.
The intro still blows me away

You're are correct sir. I'm warming up to it a bit more now as well.

Every new single they have released have been absolutely mind-blowing. I swear I will buy this album the day it comes out.

Try listen to an ucranian band named Jinjer that is exploding right now everywhere. They have many parts alike the part you focus there.

Old comment but I have to say I fully agree
first time listening to this band: impressed :)

great for you.
Plus, the name of this song is, "Long Live the Misanthrope", So, I might be the only one who belongs here anyway.
A Lioness and a Vixen were talking together about their young, as mothers will, and saying how healthy and well-grown they were, and what beautiful coats they had, and how they were the image of their parents. "My litter of cubs is a joy to see," said the Fox; and then she added, rather maliciously, "But I notice you never have more than one." "No," said the Lioness grimly, "but that one's a lion."

makes my day
That which is below is as that which is above and that which is above is as that which is below in order to accomplish the miracles of the one.
one of the highlights
I'm into Soilwork!
So today it's metalcore/melodic groove metal, and in this song you can hear the strong metalcore elements.
When you break down music and it's components it's important to label things.
Is it a freezer or is it a fridge? Who cares man, it chills stuff down, its a "chill-down-all-my-condoments". Just enjoy the chilled condoments and let it be? That wasn't a good analogy, but hope you got my point :d
an anthem for shy folk! love it!
i love the new sologuitar sound and the new (old) way of screaming!
Another masterpiece!!
I would pay good money to get this album right now.

This is not a warfare, it's music ! Please enjoy... or leave....
This song would be perfect for the follow-up animated video to Delieverance is Mine. The lyrics kinda match too.
Couldn't disagree more... this is my favorite so far. Pre-ordered. Can't wait.
The whole song kicks ass.... 1:43 kicks even more!
WONDAFULLLLLL
WOW!!
I like the dath growler guy, and that's more than can be said for other death metal bands like wintersun or frosttide. and the singer is amazing. I wish the singer was featured a LOT more than he is. or are they the same guy? rare, but it happens.
It's the same guy.
Donald Webb huh.
Alleluia!
i just like soilwork's music =]
Well said.
It's useful to organize things for purposes of better recall, Mnemosyne is the mother of the Muses.
A good amount of people even some sites have em under metal core. I know there not but the miss labeling of em is common.
when everyone else learns flawless swedish i promise i will devote all my time to learning flawless english ;)
Awesome ;)
My postulates, if you were going to properly name them or find some organization for them, would be something like a combination between The Lion's Share and The Kansas City Shuffle.
oh yeah!
An awesome CD found it just thumbing the music at A local store, Like finding gold in with the crap!
Put all your love in hate, my friend.
It's time for our work to begin.
I love every fucking album by them but this is probably the best one since Natural Born Chaos. That was the shit.
