3:20 is one of the most emotionally powerful parts in all of modern music to me. I always imagine holding the hand of somebody that I love as they die in a hospital bed. A feeling that very few artists can produce. It's that hopeless moment of knowing that it's all over, and then you turn and ask yourself "This can't really be happening right now, can it?" I never fail to burst out in tears.

I had to give some love to this Masterpiece of a record and to this amazing song. I bought this on vinyl even though I don't own a recordplayer and I ´m not a collector but this next to a few others is deserved to be owned in it's purest form, next to the experience of a live show of course.

this song is so fucking catchy...
What defines the "melodic" aspect is not strictly the guitar riffs, it's the other instruments such as violin, piano etc. which add more variety to the music.

Melodic death metal is not defined by the vocals. There are only a few bands who actually sing their songs. What defines the melodic aspect is the guitar riffs wich are written within a certain scale.

+Péter D. They adopted this generic groove/nu-metal style that could have been done a lot better, but they just went with a really predictable formula and stuck with it for the whole album. It felt like a contractual obligation more than a genuine songwriting effort.

Melodic Death Metal is not defined by the vocals, true. But it doesn't depend on guitar "riffs" at all, it's the whole instrumentalisation. The music doesn't have to be written in a certain mode or scale at all, some bands also often use dissonances, like Prey For Nothing, yet it's Melodic Death Metal. The difference is if you have a mere rhythmic song structure or a melodic one, but both evoke emotions.
