I think it is a result of a piss poor education system which is totally under the control of the left, and the saturation of society, by social and main stream media. We now have a substantial cohort who value nothing. They are too stupid and bitter to realise. That when you value nothing. You are valueless. Because the only true way to measure a person's value. I, like 99% of people, support social security (we all need it to an extent) but the expansive generosity of the system has thwarted what should be a natural meritocracy - A system where these people would be relegated to the place most suitable for their intelligence. It also helps fuel open borders. We need a model where there is a welfare safety net but the bulk of unemployment support (among other support like health care) is not tax contribution based, but a percentage of your wages forcibly saved into a personal account. I don't like the nanny state, as a responsible man, but it is becoming increasingly clear to me that the Western "democracies" don't really have many good options for dealing with their multi-generational stupified populace.
