- Saif al-Islam, one of Muammar Gaddafi's sons, has been the public face of the Libyan regime since the unrest in the country began. He has accused the international media, including Al Jazeera, of blowing the crisis out of proportion. In an interview with Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught, he repeated the allegation and claimed that the West was trying to take over Libya's oil.

Who is watching this video 2021
I am a Libyan citizen. Everything Saif al-Islam said was true. After ten years of chaos and destruction, the Libyans demand in the first presidential elections that Saif be the president of Libya.
Did he win the news in the states is saying the people still hate him over there
she always brought sources from the Western Media and not relying on her on report on what what shre really see & experince on the ground. How the Western Media can say that Gaddaffi's Army kill the Civilians even if the Rebels can wear a Soldiers Uniform in any sequence & not interviewing any Soldiers or caught a footage of it. They say Libya celebrates Gaddaffi's death even though they don't have any sequence of footage in any region that there is a mass celabration they just simply show footage of Rebels & Anti-Gadaffi celebrates and for them tha's all about it that whole Libya celebrates what a delusional reports hiding the real events on the ground
@@nobalance_nb News in the states isnt news. Its propaganda.
Are from Benghazi because it's where most of the rebels are coming from
@@nobalance_nb Which is hogwash. The presidential election got postponed indefinitely because the US knows Saif would win. The US is pressuring ICC to continue to pursue Saif. Meanwhile, the head of ICC met up with the real war criminal Haftar.
I think he had a strong closing statement at the end (20:00).
I personally don't care for Lybia or the ruling family, but I do not like to see countries in chaos. As Saif said, people need to work, eat, and live their lifes.
P
He didn't want to accept reality. He should have told his father to step down. I don't agree with what the rebels did to them either. They were prisoners, they should not have been brutalized and definitely not sodomized. How can you claim you are fighting for human rights then do vile acts yourself. It makes them worse than the people they were fighting against.
@@lauralishes1 What reality was there to accept? Unconditional surrender? They had to project strength to their people, but leak documents in the past decade showed they were actually desperately negotiating behind the scenes to find a way out. Once NATO killed the youngest son Saif al-Arab and several underaged grandchildren in April 2011, it was obvious the war would not end until Gaddafi was dead and from that point on, it became a fight to the death. The whole family knew it and I give them credit for refusing to abandon their father. Family loyalty is something sacred and most Westerners do not understand. Gaddafi will be vindicated by history as a martyr. He was the Joan of Arc, William Wallace, and Spartacus of our time.
The video is 10 years old and yet nothing has changed
Is this how interviews are conducted? By pressuring false information over and over and over rather than asking questions? He should have just gotten up and left. This interview is botched. Though, they would probably make that look bad too.
Watching this in 2020. I wonder how this woman thinks about herself today.
If she can sleep at night she don't know what moral is
She kept asking stupid questions taking the higher ground. Failed journalism.
She probably is still playing white saviour somewhere.

@@lauralishes1 who are you stranger to tell Libians what to do
I see wisdom in him
Libyans that commented here around some 8 years ago, should come back and read what they wrote. I am sure, 99% of them will cry because of their comments.
Mis oraciones con Gadafi y el pueblo Libio
How can Gaddafi manage things during the bombings when his family members were themselves killed! Gaddafi just fought until his death like lot of soldiers fight and actually he was just with few people fighting unaware of what’s happening to other places in Libya!
whether u like him or not .. he is a smart dude
I'm ashamed at Al jazeera for picking sides in a situation that they have little knowledge about. That woman must want Gaddafi to leave the country, because of reasons based on her assumptions.

Al Jazeera is own by the Qatari Govt. And they sent money to the rebels.
I lived my whole life in Libya.
Tnx
Did Gaddafi ever propose you?

Good interview... RIP colonel
It RIP Libya now
@WieIsDeRat please share the exact min/sec where he says that. Thanks.
@UniversalAwarenessTV do you have any idea you are talking about??
Anita sayed "you can not win a conflict with violent" but the NATO uses violent right now. EPIC FAIL
@xDpancho90 Thank you good sir. that was very enlightening
@radsted
She is not a journalist but a modern presstitute. A so called "freelance" presstitute.
If her intent was to make Gaddafi look like the bad guy then she failed horribly. Gaddafi is the best thing that ever happened to Libya.
I like this guy, WOW!!!
Democracy is not necessary with armor, it's a maturity of a people where each of these latter must pass through a natural process and according to its own rational principles and values and history millennium.
Thank you for your wonderful interview!!! look at Libya today can USA or Europe help Libyan people's because they have nothing to eat 2023 😔🤐
They kill him because he said Africa being one country.
Future leader of Libya
Who is watching this in 2020? what do you feel?
OWNED! I love you Al-Jazeera!
do you still love aljazeera?
Muammar Ghaddafi is the Great Leader of Libya !! i appreciate your Bravery against west !! You will win in this Warplay !!!!
@Dogar230 i would love to know that either. but it's not only aj, but also other newsnetworks who do that.
@BallsOfDesire agree the West needs to stay out of this. They talk about trying Khadafy and his sons for crimes against humanity. What about the US and Britain for invading Iraq? They did so based on lies (there was no weapons of mass distruction). The West needs to be concerned with what and who is really behind these protest. If your govt is open to dialogue, the leaders of a reasonable movement would be open to such discussions.
Osama gets blamed for 9/11 and Saddam and Iraq pay the price. If you think about it only countries rich in natural resources(Venezuela, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc)are the ones that suffer. It is because they want them to be puppets and when they refuse this is what happens!
@siltopian7 I don't see any reports claiming this... can you post a link on my profile
A most excellent interview.
This is all so sad... We wanted what Libya had. Plain and simple.💯
His interview is really intelligent, got me still wondering if he really committed crimes against his won people..all his interview I have seen on the internet is really awesome and he's an open minded guy it seems. #And this is just my opinion, I don't know this man like his ppl may know him
Most US Presidents have been smart people.
Truman killed over 200,000 civilians in 48 hours. The Native Indians were slaughtered by smart people. The people that killed JFK must have been smart to not get caught 40yrs years on.
It was a civil war. If he was committing crimes against his people, so did Abraham Lincoln.
Irregardless of whatever is happening. One must agree at 13:21 - 14:09.
Libya now days engaged in civilian war after death of cool.muammar gaddaf, this case caused by European s and America.
"soon you will see"
Nicely said tech702 :)
@BallsOfDesire , I so agree with you.
That's the thing about al-Islam: He's Saif.
Hélas Il avait parfaitement raison, mais les siens ne l'ont pas entendu de cette oreille. Quel destin magnifique brisé !!😢
They served libya a proper democracy the best of the best 👌🏽 👍🏼
Justice reaches out to touch you now, Saif al-Islam.
@hummer2jatt Your words are 100% CORRECT...SALAAM!!
War of the intellect is the one that wins the day.

Please... come on... listen...
Saif al-islam Gaddafi for Libyan president.
He should continue his father work
This son is still alive.
Saif al-Islam "living in another reality" LMTO
Talk about objectivity! She is being paid to force that bullshit in people's brains,Qatar is no more than a toy in the hands of the Americans, they say jump and Qatar pulls out the trampoline. So basically, this is what Algzeera does here. But I admire Saif's attitude, very focused and doesn't flinch. He took her down,am proud of u Saif, May God be with you now
It is so obvious right! I can’t believe there is actually people that trust or believe in this news outlet. Qatar was one of the biggest supporters of the militias fighting Col. Gaddafi’s regime(too many interests). It still has a lot of influence in Libya and also one of the biggest sponsors of the GNA. 40+ years the country was stable and very good financially. They also said that Gaddafi stole a lot of the money and it was later found all saved in banks. Their main argument is that there were protests in the country against Gaddafi and his government, but they seem to forget that most of the country’s population were not protesting maybe it’s just selective amnesia. You can watch any of Gaddafi’s old interviews that were pretty much the same types of accusations with no basis, everything he says that was going to happen did. For some reason he was smart enough to keep the tribes and the rest of the population under control.
He thought that the throne was given for granted.
Denial, lies, idiocy, blindness, dumb, unaware, sly...all these words come to mind as I think of him and his father.
THOSE ARE THE WORDS ONE CAN AFFILIATE WITH EVERY GOVERNMENT HEADS AND THEIR FAMILIES
@erdal0 when I wrote that I had read that they captured him alive... I don't see anything confirming he's dead, can you send me a link on my profile if you have the story. thanks.
can some 1 count how many times he said please? O.o lol
All those who commented criticising the guy, how do you feel today 2021. Thats if u still alive.........
Hopefully corona got em out of here
RIP
Great interviewer. Well done.
wow she is a brave woman to speak to him like that. Gaddafis it is time for you to go.
saif, stay strong. africans and people of the global south will come to libya .,. wave by wave. the flag will be raised
His father was slowly changing to Western Friendly, and then it got ruined by the Arab Spring.
Lol like the arab spring wasn't made by Westerns themselves.? And like if NATO and usa was not the actual real reason geddafi was downed u know that without usa and nato gaddafi would of been in power untill today
The comment about the west being cats when your strong and tigers when your weak is so true. Otherwise this guy is so out of touch.
@hummer2jatt So true!!!
12:10 "the arms they have, they seized from your army."
That would be a lovely site... unarmed peaceful protester able to seize arms from the Libyan Army to fight and defeat the Libbyan Army.
You just cant make thease things up.
I like Gaddafi but he must leave now for peace to reign in Libya. I oppose the intervention of outside forces because they don't really care about the Libyans all they want is the oil. Gaddafi should dialogue with the oppositions and set a timetable for his exit as soon as possible. Gaddafi should learn to accept the decision of the majority and not put the country in a mess.
He’s dead and y’all country is 10x worse then before so I guess he should have stayed and y’all should have had his back
Libyan people are suffering and they are living in misery please help them under un peace keeper, and collect all the arms
@WeSaluteYou888 that's a statement?
I am Chinese.....it seems Libya has a long way to go. Good luck to you guys.
Oh, so does China.
Great Saif ,,,,,,,,
@kinglatif2008 The Libyan people did not take arms until Gaddafi instructed the military to begin slaughtering them. You can see the videos in Benghazi and in Tripoli, where people in the streets were just marching like anywhere else as protests. The army started slaughtering them and the people then took over the military base with bulldozers and knives. You can see the videos, they are everywhere.
@2conscious The reason they overcame Muammar is because of the obvious NATO support. Also, don't forget that this revolution began twice. It began first after Tunisia, but before Egypt, but the first time the people had demands of reform not overthrow. Gaddafi gave in, said take any empty home (to solve housing crisis). After Mubarak, Gaddafi says to evict anyone who didn't pay for a home (his daughter owns the real estate) and everyone has had enough and takes to the street.
@maliiisima yeah she was being offensive irrupting him being very biased
You can't expect every despot to just follow the Egyptian game plan... the world isn't so black and white. Freedom comes with a price and you never know just what price you may have to pay demanding your freedom. Whatever price it is worth it. Lets hope whatever happens in Libya will happen with some sense of compassion and healing in the end.
This is what a man losing grip on the situation looks like.
This lady is asking stupid questions. 🙄 very smart upcoming leader. Confident.
Not all though just the ones in Tripoli mainly
democracy was something that was short lived in accent Greece
VECNA SLAVA GATAFIJU! ZIVEO SAIF!
@2conscious i am the one that is inconsistent? i haven't said anything positive about the rebels. and i obviously condemn the crimes they committed against migrants and civilians. i call wrong as wrong no matter who does it. that was exactly my point. people that liked gaddafi somehow see all the rebel crimes but don't condemn or see any crimes done by gaddafi, vice versa it is the same with rebel supporters. I see crimes by both sides and i have no problem condemning it no matter who does it.
EXCELLENT REPORTER!!!!!!!!
@ltamas21 I so agree with you.
@PrimaGymnast47 They sure are :)
This interview will become legendary! Propog.*cough* Public Relations advisers (spin-doctors) will have a field day with this material of How Not To Present Your Regime to the Public or The World.
This interview merits a split screen version where the countenance and gesticulations of the interviewer and interviewee can be seen at the same time.
Yea she made him look stupid but if your still alive, go look a Libya now. It’s even worse and still no government
are of vapor and we all come here naked and leave here naked. We all reap what we sew. I o ot waste any time angry. I pray and entrust in my father and I have had miracles from cancer to all sorts of things that were gloom and doom in my 40 years. I pray and leave it to my father. I do not hate ones who are mean to me. I forgibve them and I just keep being who I am meant to be. Is it hard? No. It is easy. That is all I have to say.Thank you.
Look how he didnt watch on here eyes at all.
Free people of Belarus support free Libyans!! :)
' There are six million people in Libya'.....'There are 2 million people in Tripoli'...... '70% of the population is in Tripoli alone'. It sounds he's quite good at math ! 200 militia men are involved in the uprising. When you don't buy your daily food, you lose the ability to count ! even when the numbers involve human lives !
Save the civilians of Libya !!! ......Stop mad monster Ghaddafi !!!
Are you happy now
I think Saif had too much 'IceTea' hehe
Just look when he almost havent make any eye contact with her.
Thats the way he talks, now stfu were all paying the price for not believing him and his father.
Everyone deserved a second chance, so does Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.
another background is not fair. Perhaps the majority do not have this love which I do for everyone and do not care for everyone but I have peace and nothing but love everyday in my heart for all and it feels very good.People in general are mean to me everyday unprovoked and it is not personal. They do not know what they do. I just ride things off my back. It is no big eal. I know who I am and I am at peace. Even if the majority is mean I would rather remain the minority. In the end, our lives
Keep Ghadaffi, we need Ghadaffi. The west does not understand if the Ghadafi government falls - we will have an Islamic Government.
How high has she climbed the Career ladder through this Interview.
This lady is a foreign journalist, but acts like a judge from ICC and only try hard to prove her point...
saif al islam is good man and he well lead libya.
This is the result of insanity, keeps repeating himself even knowing he is wrong! I guess we will see the end of it.
Anita McNaught sure is brave. She should receive a reward for outstanding journalism.
On the basis of this interview alone I would say Gaddafi's days are numbered. This situation gets more bizarre by the minute as I also have a serious crush on the Al Jazeera journalist which interfered a little with my interpretation of this.
