Wow, I think the hardest part of nature photography is that you can't ask nature to pose for you. Instead you have to wait as long as you get what you want from the chaos of nature and take too many photos. Good job Nick @nickpage
"Dancing with the Stars"! Sorry, had to say it. Such creative shots. And the juxtaposition with the lighthouse - oh my! What a story about light that conveys! Will watch this one more than once.
You put us wright there with you with time-lapse and the dancing Aurora. Superb Nick, thank you !! If only one could have this as a screen saver, every time we opened our desktop.
In a world seemly gone mad, you bring healing to my Soul. Thank you Nick for your incredible endurance and continued photography that brings so much happiness and inspiration to me.
That last image of the arching aurora over Kirkjufell...just ...wow. I really enjoyed this well made short video. Nice music selection to go with the time lapses. It was great to watch an experiential video like this where the videographer was immersed in the joy of witnessing the aurora.
In a word…amazing! Thank you for your videos. They have helped me get through a four month illness that has kept me from my camera. You have kept me inspired.
Simply unbelievable images, they are awesome. Thank you for doing the hard yards and sharing them us. I’m going to watch this video again and again, it’s so good.
Stunning displays, I'm in the far North of Scotland at 58.5* N and even a good display rarely get the ribbons like that. Great comps with the foregrounds, thanks for bringing us along.
WOW!!! Nick -- these images are INCREDIBLE!! Or as Tom would say --EPIC!!!! I look forward to your videos with anticipation of great information and great images. What you do is such an inspiration to me - thanks for all you do!!
A similar thing happened to me 4yrs ago over Kirkjufell. The night started very quietly with only a few green lights and then the show really started and it was crazy. From 25s exposure, we had to go to less than 1s. It was super light. We left 3h later but it was still ongoing. Hope to live that again this week in Finland.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video👏😍👏It reminds me when I saw the northern light dancing around me. It was such an emotional experience I never will forget.
Wow Nick, you have posted some amazing videos in the past, but this one blows my mind !! Absolutely incredible images AND time Lapses !! Just amazing work. Thank you for sharing !!
Killer images Nick! Reminds me of living in Anchorage, AK. Never seen the lights to the south but one time they were directly overhead. Instead of sheets of light across the sky it was like millions of shafts of light coming straight down at us.
It's been a while since we had a video from you Nick, and I totally understand why, but my god was this worth waiting for, simply stunning my friend, simply stunning. Thank you for sharing totally appreciate how much work went into this.
Wow...this is simply amazing with the time lapse and stills, but man oh man, that Aurora rainbow at the end is like nothing I have ever seen before. Loved how you ended with the fade to black after that shot. Just brilliant from start to finish.
Wow… that was beautiful! To me the photo of the old lighthouse with the curls in the aurora, and the aurora ‘bow over Kirkjuvel’ standing out. But that’s just me. Great video Nick. Thnx.
There's nothing like it really! Always so exciting and humbling. The display we got here in NZ recently was right up there with some of the more memorable ones I've had in Iceland. Managed to film the whole night also, which I look forward to sharing soon. Keep up the great work mate!
Awesome vid Nick! So I’m gonna guess this was around Jan 14-15th timeframe? We had a good week the 11-17th here in Alaska. I’ll let ya in on a trick I do which is gonna sound crazy, but when the aurora explodes and starts zinging to capture that definition and ripples within the makeup I’ll crank up my iso so I can get a faster shutter speed even stop down the aperture as well. Mainly when it’s overhead and cranking out that light and color. I shoot on the R5 as well and I’ll bump 6400-10000 to get that .3”-1” shots and freeze that moment in time. F2.8 or F4 while keeping an eye on my light meter. Call me crazy, haha
Absolutely stunning pictures and footage Nick! Keep on your great work! 👍👍👍 I'm actual in the planning of my Iceland trip end of May.... 😊 Best regards from Germany!
