Seems a lovely site but no doubt the CAMC will revamp it into their style and put the prices up even more. Site prices are now so expensive to what they were even 2 years ago. For all we still use the clubs now and then we are using private sites more and more, more facilities for less money.
Yes it's a lovely site with very large spacious pitches hope they don't change it to much. We haven't been away much in caravan this year due to holiday plans we went to Scotland & mostly used independent sites up there which were cheaper. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the heads-up on this site too, never been and didn't realise it was now a club site. No too far for us so this is def on the radar! 🙂🙂 Best wishes, Tim & Jayne, Staffordshire
We stopped using camc sites last year, and haven't renewed our membership this year as we can find lots of independent and farm sites offer as much facilities sometimes more for less money and no membership fee.

Thanks it was nice to be out in the caravan, we did have 3 weeks in Scotland in September but still have videos to edit yet, I didn't film any other footage I did Matlock, Matlock bath, Cromford mill & canal when we visited the site a couple of years ago so videos are on the channel - glad you enjoyed the French videos - thanks for watching 👍
Its 10th November here 2024 and the. Aire we are on in France has 19 vans pitched up but at 24.5 Euros its understandable. Campsites in UK are just too expensive.
Yes both of the clubs are getting to expensive & you pay over £60 yearly to each club for the privilege of supposedly cheaper pitches , there are a lot of independent / private sites with better facilities and cheaper
Thank you, we have a 2019 Ford Kuga, 2 ltr diesel, AWD, we had a detachable tow bar & electrics fitted by local tow bar fitter on our drive cost around £500 pounds over 3 years ago, hope this helps 👍
We actually use independent sites more now, thought we would go back to Lickpenny as it's been purchased by the club just to see if anything has changed and to use the free night voucher, thanks for watching 👍
Thanks for another great video. We were members of both the CCC and CAMC for over 15 years but have not renewed our CCC membership this year because we never use their sites or member services anymore. I'm only staying with the CAMC for their CL's. CAMC and CCC used to offer good discounts on ferry crossings to France too but, it's cheaper to book directly with the ferry company now. I went to Lickpenny some years ago and loved it but, I just won't pay CAMC site prices when I can get 28 nights on a huge fully serviced pitch in Normandy, France using my ACSI card, for less than £500.
Yes it's a lovely site with very large spacious pitches hope they don't change it to much. We haven't been away much in caravan this year due to holiday plans we went to Scotland & mostly used independent sites up there which were cheaper. Were members of both clubs not sure if we will still be next time they are due for renewal - Thanks for watching
Yes if you have seen our French video we went to France for 3 weeks without caravan back in May - stopped in mobile homes total cost of the holiday including ferry to St Malo and back with cabin was less than £1200 - We would certainly do the same again - Thanks for watching
Hi Andrew and Karen nice film 👍 must be over 10 years since we have been there been in caravan club 25:years .. bit steap the fully serviced pitches we rarely use them .. just back from Coniston it was quite 👍 all the best Glyn
Let’s hope the club doesn’t spoil this lovely site. They have a habit of squeezing pitches in any available spaces they can find. We loved our stay here back in March 2020 despite lockdown being announced whilst we were here. It’s a top site 👍. Nice to see the aerial view Andrew and great to see you both back in the caravan, happy touring. Cheers Rob & Gail 😀
Yes it was nice to be away in the caravan even though the weather wasn't great. I can imagine in the future those lovely open grass areas will have the freedom experience pods and cabins on, hope they keep the vast amount of privacy hedges & don't chop them down to save on maintenance costs Etc, Would be interesting to go back in a couple of years time to see how things have changed, thanks for watching 👍
It’s getting so expensive for sites these days, hope they don’t price themselves too far out of the market that people will stop joining and paying for a pitch….
Thinking of not renewing when it's due or utilising the CL network more, when we went to France it was cheaper to book through ferry company than the club
Hi Andrew. Looks a nice site. Suppose now it's a club site the price the price will increase. Might give it a go to use the free night. We mostly use independent site's now find them better value for money. I suppose with electricity wages Ect increaseing it's a sign of the times. Thanks for sharing 👍

Hello. We're booking that site nxt year we only use caravan club sites we're off tomorrow to one of our favourite sites Lady Margarets Park chirk. No issues with club sites and they don't allow drones. X
Yes it's a lovely site with very large spacious pitches hope they don't change it to much. Just love the Drone Police, I have the full licence for flying the drone, the drone is under 250 grams & can be flown anywhere as long as it's not above a large gathering of people, I am a considerate drone flyer would not have flown it if there were more units on site, the drone was always above our pitch area so no danger to anyone or any other persons unit, the air space belongs to CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) - Thanks for watching
Hi Andrew & Karen we have booked this site for next year,we were looking at going this year but it had closed, good its been taken on again. Hope to see you out and about soon.
I priced up getting a caravan for weekend trips with the Mrs. £800 to get tow hitch on the car and £7000 for a caravan that wasn't ancient or a shed. At 40 quid a night on campsites vs £80 for a hotel with pools ect or less if you go the B&B route it just didn't make sense.
Yes it's really never been a cheap way to holiday by the time you factor in all the costs, but we love the freedom it gives us, if you follow the channel you will see we vary our types of holidays to give us more freedom 👍
I know the campsites have overheads, increases in energy costs ETC. We haven't been away much in caravan this year due to holiday plans we went to Scotland & mostly used independent sites up there which were cheaper. Thanks for watching
Lickpenny has always been quiet. We have visited once and found the previous owners rude and uninviting. We have a friend that visits aswell he goes during the week more often and comments that it’s always quiet.
CAMC sites are far too expensive now. Private sites have the same, if not better facilities for far less than CAMC. They have list thousands of members lately, it was the members club, but now its a money making buisiness.
Sold caravan because sites have become too expensive not only with the CMHC Club but in general. Thought we would go back to camping but even those prices in places are extortionate. Could not believe it when in Cornwall few weeks ago found a caravan site that charged during summer school holidays. £105.00 per night for caravan pitch. It’s a shame but you can pick up a Travel Lodge for £25 a night for two people. A I did last week in Cirencester. Ok you cannot cook in those but you can certainly eat out for the same price as a night with CMHC.
It's certainly not a cheap hobby now especially when you factor in the price of Caravan, Tow vechicle, fuel ETC - That's why we decided to do 3 weeks in France without caravan staying in Mobile homes on 3 different sites worked out cheaper than taking caravan across it was less than £1200 including ferry to St Malo & back with Cabin both ways
It's never really been a cheap holiday when you factor in everything of owning a caravan or motorhome, suppose it depends on how you want to holiday, we don't use the big club sites as much now found lots of private/ independent sites cheaper with better facilities 👍
This is only the 2nd of their site this year, Englethwaite Hall in Sept, this one to get an expensive night free, we have one 4 night break booked with them next month
Seems to me they have forgotten that they are touring sites & turning them into holiday parks, putting on Pods, lodges, Yerts, Etc. Yes all prices have gone up but you get better & cheaper independent sites.
We've stopped using them as much now - just went to see if anything had changed since our last visit & they took over this lovely site to get free night at least we saved £42.40 👍
I'm sorry but if you think the alternative to the camc is a muddy farmers field you can't have looked far. There's loads of farms that have hardstanding and modern shower blocks, and landscaped atractive sites. Including electric hookup, and the best thing no arsey attitude from wardens who seem to forget they're part of hospitality industry.
Actually theres a lot of private / independent sites with better modern facilities, they don't charge per person all the occupants are in with the pitch price and a lot cheaper than than both the clubs, I personally think both clubs are now very expensive and only use them occasionally 👍
Extortionate site fees and extortionate new van prices are killing the traditional market. Look around at just how many self conversions- many of them stealth - are driving around.
I understand the costs involved running these sites, but the prices are becoming ridiculous compared to the near continent. We will probably drop our CCC membership next year, remaining with the CAMC as we have our van insurance with them, like their CL sites, and also use Abbey Wood if visiting London (great location, close to the Elizabeth Line for quick travel into the centre). Private sites are offering more services for less money, which is sad for the site wardens who do an amazing job on the club sites.
It's a lovely site with very large spacious pitches hope they don't change it to much. We haven't been away much in caravan this year due to holiday plans we went to Scotland & mostly used independent sites up there which were cheaper. Thanks for watching

It's a well laid out site, only time will tell if the CAMC will change it
Great see you back on the road in the uk
Thank you, we actually did 3 weeks in Scotland back in September so those videos are coming soon 👍

Great to see you back in your caravan, we're looking forward to the Matlock & Matlock Bath film.
We both enjoyed watching your films from France.

Hi... Really enjoying your content. We are considering getting a caravan, what car do you have to tow with?. Thanks
Thank you, we have a 2019 Ford Kuga, 2 ltr diesel, AWD, we had a detachable tow bar & electrics fitted by local tow bar fitter on our drive cost around £500 pounds over 3 years ago, hope this helps 👍
@andrew-karens-adventures It helps a lot Thank you.
Nice street lamp.🙂 I like darkness. Can't stand people draping lights everywhere!
Very nice lamp post - Can't do with those flashing flag poles either
We don’t use club site as much now they got too expensive for what they are member for 25 year caravaning since 1974 but still use CL sites
We actually use independent sites more now, thought we would go back to Lickpenny as it's been purchased by the club just to see if anything has changed and to use the free night voucher, thanks for watching 👍

Certainly expensive at £42.40 glad we had our free night, off to Wharfedale next month may be last time we use the clubs larger sites after that

£40+ per night for paid members is absolutely ridiculous
All them clubs deserve to go into administration IMO!!
Yes getting too expensive only went to get my free night so saved £42.40 👍

I have stopped touring now it's cheaper and more convenient to put it on a seasonal pitch.
Yes it is a cheaper option but we like to tour and explore different places so touring suits us at the moment - Thanks for watching
Campsite prices in the UK are a rip off compared to France Spain etc, we very rarely use UK campsites anymore.
I know the campsites have overheads, increases in energy costs ETC. We haven't been away much in caravan this year due to holiday plans we went to Scotland & mostly used independent sites up there which were cheaper. Thanks for watching

Are you a member of caravan & motorhome club as they have taken it over , if you are you can book on there web site
yes I am and when I contacted them you had to ring you couldn’t book online,
We booked our pitch online using the caravan and motorhomes club web site, think it had only just been added to the web site though
I’m with you on the aqua roll Andrew, I always use it even on a serviced pitch, I don’t like the idea of direct to the caravan,
Love the channel

At least if there's an issue outside the caravan it stays outside the caravan + I'm too tight to buy the hose LOL 🤣😂🤣
@@andrew-karens-adventures my thoughts exactly and as a fellow Yorkshire man, I concur with the cost as well 🤣🤣🤣
Not a member no more ..they far to expensive…we find a lot of sites on google maps hell of a lot cheaper & can have camp fires …cheers Chris & Sammy
