SUPER Cool Accordion Wallet Pattern From Japan!
District Leather Supply sent us over a super cool Japanese Leather Wallet Pattern Book to try out, and we made this rad accordion leather wallet from one of the projects. This leather wallet is a really really fun project and gives you a good intro into making more dimensional leather work if you're used to doing mostly single flat pieces. It was tons of fun to make this leather pattern into a wallet - give it a try!
We made this leather wallet out of natural vegetable tanned leather and hand sewed it together with poly threads also from Japan. A good trick is to transfer the pattern from the Japanese leather pattern book to heavy card stock for your pattern - from there you can make multiple pieces from that pattern as card stock is easy to trace onto leather with an awl.
