It’s unsafe for her to be pregnant again so soon after hear birth. She recently had a hernia surgery, and her doctor told her not to get pregnant for a while because she needed to recover. She is putting a huge amount of strain on her body. This isn’t cute, this is concerning. She needed time to heal, and her husband should’ve taken the necessary steps to ensure that she didn’t get pregnant again.
Yes, God gave her a child and chose her among the thousands of people who are in pain to get one. You should say thank God. If I were that kid and grew up to see this reaction from the person who should be the happiest. I will feel that I was not born loved for the rest of my life. what a hurt .
There's a great Australian drama series about a girl who didn't know she was pregnant. It's called bump. And in it the baby's nickname is 'sorpresa' which is spanish for surprise. I think it's so sweet.
Me and my husband found out we were pregnant with my second at 4 months pp! Complete shock! We struggled with infertility with our first, I never thought I could get pregnant so easy the second time. I now have a 3yr old and a 2yr old. They are the best of friends! I will admit in the beginning...it was extremely hard to adjust to having a 1yr old and a newborn. It does get better though. And when you see your babies playing together and being inseparable you will realize how great it is to have them so close together! You guys got this ❤

Aww!! We have two girls who are 14 months apart, ages 16 months and 2.5 and it’s so sweet. So so busy but so sweet seeing them start to play together! I love hearing people talk about having a similar gap and them being best friends.

I AGREE! This happened to me with my 4th and 5th children (I've come to believe that my birth control quit working for me) and I scoured you tube looking for raw footage of some one like this in the same shoes. These were my exact feelings and I cried heavy tears for weeks after. Not because I didn't love children or want them but because I was so overwhelmed with going through pregnancy again and having a newborn. It's no small deal.❤

I am a single mom here! I am doing it all alone. I am 24 years old. I have 2 under 2 I felt the same way you did when you found out! yes it is hard and scary. However I love it so much! Not a lot of people put up the real reactions to such things unless they are really happy about it in that moment. But it was so different and refreshing to see you guys, especially Abby go through the whole series of real emotions. Each thing she mentioned was a thing to be actually worried about. I think it's perfectly fine to have this reaction, share it for other people and I think it's perfectly fine for the child to see/know that at an older age. I'm from a teen pregnancy and always always knew that when I was announced it wasn't easy on my mom, my firstborn will probably learn someday from his father who had been abusing me emotionally at the time that, though I was ecstatic and absolutely in love with him immediately, he was not and was very cruel about the pregnancy. It's just the reality of some pregnancies, and being transparent about feelings instead of lying to your kids really pays off and goes a long way and doesn't set up false expectations for them.

Aww, Matt's reaction reminds me of my hubby when we found out I was pregnant 11 years after our 2nd kid. Huge shock for me, I cried as we were not trying to get pregnant. But he told me, "It's ok, it'll be ok. I'll take of you." ❤ His excitement did make it much easier. Our suprise baby is 2.5 now and we can't imagine life without him.

This! This was exactly how I felt! So I'm here to tell you, my girls are the best of little friends! They're 15 months apart. When #2 wasn't even a month old, we moved 800 miles from home. Y'all got this! And this life with two babes so close is what you will know. You won't know life having kiddos further apart. This is your normal and that's okay! It's all hard - whether they're closer together or far apart. You have a great support system in each other and family. Y'all got this!!

We know you guys are excited about this baby, but I appreciate that you normalized that feeling fear, uncertainty, and anxiety in that moment is also a valid response to this news. Jumping up and down for joy is not the only okay response to have. Other emotions are just as valid (and are NOT an indication of not loving your child or being a bad parent) and I appreciate you sharing that with us for those out there who maybe felt ashamed that joy wasn't their immediate response...sometimes there's just a lot to process and it takes a while to feel the joy.
I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd when my first was just 7 months old. I had to laugh because my husband also said "Well we wanted two" and all I could say, as I pointed to my son in my husband's arms, "I just use to him!" I was soooo upset but I kept putting my hand on my stomach and saying " I do want you but NOT SO SOON!" My sons have both grown into fantastic men and they are very close. Never an accident, just a surprise. Something you didn't expect, but so happy that you got it!
I love how real this is. A "accident" baby is not any less wanted or loved then a planned baby. Same thing happened to me. My baby was 6 months old when I fell pregnant again. SURPRISE it's twins. Mia is now 3 and my twin boys Keith and Ethan are now 18 months

Abby this was my same reaction when I found out about my second I was literally in tears. Now looking back holding my 5th baby in my arms I wouldn’t change it for the world. You both are amazing parents.

I found out I was pregnant, 5 months postpartum with my first daughter. I have 3 beautiful girls now and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also cried alot, and watching this video just reminded me how scared I was. Congratulations, and nothing beats God's timing. 💓
My first 2 kids are 14 months apart. Second pregnancy was a total surprise. My son is now 28 years old and my daughter is 27 years old. Also had another boy 3 years later and he is 24 years old now. I remember telling my husband while our 6 month old was bouncing in a bouncer, I was crying and my husband did not believe me at first. It turned out great! Been married for 32 years. Now my two older kids are married, and my youngest son is at school getting his masters degree.

That pregnant test video of Abby’s second pregnancy was how I discovered you guys. The way Matt was so instantly supportive, even though still half asleep, and the way Abby shared her emotions made me want to see what more you guys had to offer. I love the dynamic you have between you, and how well you reflect over things. I am in kind of an opposite situation from you. We tried about a year to get pregnant with our first child. It’s was not an easy pregnancy, so we decided to wait a few years to try for number 2. It took us over 5 years for number 2 to come to us, so we have 10 years between our children 😊 I wish you all the best with what’s ahead of you. ❤

My mom got pregnant with me when my brother was 8 months and she had to get help by a doctor and were told that they couldn't not pregnant without help so it was REALLY a shock for them. Now my mom and I are besties and closer than her and my brother. So I am just here to say that things happen and they are meant to be no matter how cliche that sounds. Really thank you for showing your true emotions.. I got pregnant with my second I think 4-5 month postpartum. Closer to the time of having my second baby my fear just grew and wondering how I was just going to handle two babies. But I just had to trust God and give all my fear to Him really. I’m so grateful for my family and my husband My second was born 2 weeks after my oldest turned 1 year. Everyday is a new day to get better at it I’m so glad I had them together. Amazing hearing you say “we’re at Disney land struggling to enjoy ourselves with just one”. Purely because that’s just so honest and so real for many of us. Lord it is hard!!! I fell pregnant with my second when my first was 9months old and the pregnancy with a toddler was the hardest part. Baby boy is now 6 weeks old and it’s magical. I found going from 1 to 2 children way easier than the transition of becoming a first time mum. It’s weirdly easier with two. It almost helps everything not being perfect way easier. Thank you so much for the vulnerability and honesty. In my family they made us feel ashamed for having a child so soon that we actually hid it for 6 months. Now I have a beautiful 24 year old college educated, married to the love of her life (together since 8th grade) and doing just fine. I'm so proud of her she's truly my gift from God.
I can so relate to this, Abby! I found out I was pregnant with my only child just after my 36th birthday. It was February of 2020. I was on birth control. I had previously been overweight and lost 100 pounds. And then came the boom! I just stared at that test in total disbelief. Your emotions are so relatable. The possibility never entered my mind. I remember telling the doctor that she might as well tell me that I was an astronaut on the moon. It finally sunk in when my daughter was born, no denying it at that point. 😊 My daughter is almost three now and she's difficult but she's the best thing I ever did!

Every time I see the part when Abby expresses feeling guilt over having ridden the rides and drinking a beer, my heart tears in two. I love watching Momma Doctor Jones here on RUclips and she gives reactions to episodes of 'I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant'. Something she says in every one of those is that "you do the best you can with the information that you have". There's understandably going to be some guilt there, but you should be allowed to forgive yourself because if you had known about the pregnancy you wouldn't have done certain things
There is also, as far as I know, a sort of protection (to an extent of course) in the first few weeks of conception since the embryo isn't yet "connected" to you through the placenta. So of course it is in your body and grows by what you have in your body but you aren't directly feeding it like later on pregnancy. Also the rides: if that would have been an issue she probably would have miscarried early on but again, hiiiighly unlikely to cause any damage. The developing embryo is VERY protected in there.

My brothers are 14 months apart, my mum also got pregnant 5 months post partum. My brothers are so close its insane because the age gap wasn't very big they went through all the puberty stuff and all the growing up stuff together they experienced that together making them so close. Honestly it was a blessing they support each other in ways you can't imagine. Then my parents had me 5 years later and they are the best big brothers protective, loving and loyal the age gap is a blessing!

It’s okay to be scared out of your mind and also know that you wouldn’t change it, concurrently. I was terrified when I found out about each of my pregnancies because of life during those times, and I felt like I had to put on a face and pretend to just be thrilled and blessed. I have 4 children. I found out about our 3rd when my daughter was 6 months old. I remember taking the test in the bathroom by myself and said “oh f….” It’s going to be ok, and it’s ok to feel caught off guard or not ready, you will be ready when the time comes and it is so special having siblings close together.
I think your initial reaction is fairly typical. It happened to me as well. Just after we had decided that our family was complete with two daughters. The second daughter was a preemie. She got up and walked just days before her little brother.

I'm new to your channel. My last 2 kids are less than a year apart. My daughter turned 21 on February and my son turned 20 in July. I found the situations ideal, especially because my oldest daughter was in elementary school at the moment. Me and my husband found out we were pregnant with my second at 4 months pp! Complete shock! We struggled with infertility with our first, I never thought I could get pregnant so easy the second time. I now have a 3yr old and a 2yr old. They are the best of friends! I will admit in the beginning...it was extremely hard to adjust to having a 1yr old and a newborn. It does get better though. And when you see your babies playing together and being inseparable you will realize how great it is to have them so close together! You guys got this ❤

Aww!! We have two girls who are 14 months apart, ages 16 months and 2.5 and it’s so sweet. So so busy but so sweet seeing them start to play together! I love hearing people talk about having a similar gap and them being best friends.

I AGREE! This happened to me with my 4th and 5th children (I've come to believe that my birth control quit working for me) and I scoured you tube looking for raw footage of some one like this in the same shoes. These were my exact feelings and I cried heavy tears for weeks after. Not because I didn't love children or want them but because I was so overwhelmed with going through pregnancy again and having a newborn. It's no small deal.❤

Not a lot of people put up the real reactions to such things unless they are really happy about it in that moment. But it was so different and refreshing to see you guys, especially Abby go through the whole series of real emotions. Each thing she mentioned was a thing to be actually worried about. I think it's perfectly fine to have this reaction, share it for other people and I think it's perfectly fine for the child to see/know that at an older age. I'm from a teen pregnancy and always always knew that when I was announced it wasn't easy on my mom, my firstborn will probably learn someday from his father who had been abusing me emotionally at the time that, though I was ecstatic and absolutely in love with him immediately, he was not and was very cruel about the pregnancy. It's just the reality of some pregnancies, and being transparent about feelings instead of lying to your kids really pays off and goes a long way and doesn't set up false expectations for them.
The way Matt was still so tierd and he still was being supportive and comforting you. You two are made for eachother and it shows. I hope you two have an amazing journey together!

Aww, Matt's reaction reminds me of my hubby when we found out I was pregnant 11 years after our 2nd kid. Huge shock for me, I cried as we were not trying to get pregnant. But he told me, "It's ok, it'll be ok. I'll take of you." ❤ His excitement did make it much easier. Our suprise baby is 2.5 now and we can't imagine life without him.

This! This was exactly how I felt! So I'm here to tell you, my girls are the best of little friends! They're 15 months apart. When #2 wasn't even a month old, we moved 800 miles from home. Y'all got this! And this life with two babes so close is what you will know. You won't know life having kiddos further apart. This is your normal and that's okay! Jumping up and down for joy is not the only okay response to have. Other emotions are just as valid (and are NOT an indication of not loving your child or being a bad parent) and I appreciate you sharing that with us for those out there who maybe felt ashamed that joy wasn't their immediate response...sometimes there's just a lot to process and it takes a while to feel the joy.

I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd when my first was just 7 months old. I had to laugh because my husband also said "Well we wanted two" and all I could say, as I pointed to my son in my husband's arms, "I just use to him!" I was soooo upset but I kept putting my hand on my stomach and saying " I do want you but NOT SO SOON!" My sons have both grown into fantastic men and they are very close. Never an accident, just a surprise. Something you didn't expect, but so happy that you got it!

I found out I was pregnant, 5 months postpartum with my first daughter.
I have 3 beautiful girls now and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also cried alot, and watching this video just reminded me how scared I was. Congratulations, and nothing beats God's timing. 💓
My first 2 kids are 14 months apart. Second pregnancy was a total surprise. My son is now 28 years old and my daughter is 27 years old. Also had another boy 3 years later and he is 24 years old now. I remember telling my husband while our 6 month old was bouncing in a bouncer, I was crying and my husband did not believe me at first. It turned out great! Been married for 32 years. Now my two older kids are married, and my youngest son is at school getting his masters degree.

I am in kind of an opposite situation from you. We tried about a year to get pregnant with our first child. It’s was not an easy pregnancy, so we decided to wait a few years to try for number 2. It took us over 5 years for number 2 to come to us, so we have 10 years between our children 😊

My mom got pregnant with me when my brother was 8 months and she had to get help by a doctor and were told that they couldn't not pregnant without help so it was REALLY a shock for them. Closer to the time of having my second baby my fear just grew and wondering how I was just going to handle two babies. But I just had to trust God and give all my fear to Him really. Amazing hearing you say “we’re at Disney land struggling to enjoy ourselves with just one”. Purely because that’s just so honest and so real for many of us. Lord it is hard!!! I fell pregnant with my second when my first was 9months old and the pregnancy with a toddler was the hardest part. Baby boy is now 6 weeks old and it’s magical. I found going from 1 to 2 children way easier than the transition of becoming a first time mum. It’s weirdly easier with two. It almost helps everything not being perfect way easier. Thank you so much for the vulnerability and honesty. In my family they made us feel ashamed for having a child so soon that we actually hid it for 6 months. Now I have a beautiful 24 year old college educated, married to the love of her life (together since 8th grade) and doing just fine. I'm so proud of her she's truly my gift from God.
I can so relate to this, Abby! I found out I was pregnant with my only child just after my 36th birthday. It was February of 2020. I was on birth control. I had previously been overweight and lost 100 pounds. And then came the boom! I just stared at that test in total disbelief. Your emotions are so relatable. The possibility never entered my mind. I remember telling the doctor that she might as well tell me that I was an astronaut on the moon. It finally sunk in when my daughter was born, no denying it at that point. 😊 My daughter is almost three now and she's difficult but she's the best thing I ever did!

I love watching Momma Doctor Jones here on RUclips and she gives reactions to episodes of 'I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant'. Something she says in every one of those is that "you do the best you can with the information that you have". There's understandably going to be some guilt there, but you should be allowed to forgive yourself because if you had known about the pregnancy you wouldn't have done certain things
There is also, as far as I know, a sort of protection (to an extent of course) in the first few weeks of conception since the embryo isn't yet "connected" to you through the placenta. So of course it is in your body and grows by what you have in your body but you aren't directly feeding it like later on pregnancy. Also the rides: if that would have been an issue she probably would have miscarried early on but again, hiiiighly unlikely to cause any damage. The developing embryo is VERY protected in there.

I lost a baby in 98, had my first son is 9/99, my 2nd son in 9/2000, my 3rd son in 3/02, and our last son in 6/03!! I was extremely busy when they were little!! Congratulations Matt and Abby!! My brothers are 14 months apart, my mum also got pregnant 5 months post partum. My brothers are so close its insane because the age gap wasn't very big they went through all the puberty stuff and all the growing up stuff together they experienced that together making them so close. Honestly it was a blessing they support each other in ways you can't imagine. Then my parents had me 5 years later and they are the best big brothers protective, loving and loyal the age gap is a blessing!
This is such an important video! I’m so thankful y’all were willing to share this *very common* reaction. It’s okay to be scared out of your mind and also know that you wouldn’t change it, concurrently. I was terrified when I found out about each of my pregnancies because of life during those times, and I felt like I had to put on a face and pretend to just be thrilled and blessed. I was, but I was also scared, and nervous and anxious, and no one told me that was ok. People will know that thanks to your video!!
I have 4 children. I found out about our 3rd when my daughter was 6 months old. I remember taking the test in the bathroom by myself and said “oh f….”
It’s going to be ok, and it’s ok to feel caught off guard or not ready, you will be ready when the time comes and it is so special having siblings close together.
I think your initial reaction is fairly typical. It happened to me as well. Just after we had decided that our family was complete with two daughters. The second daughter was a preemie. She got up and walked just days before her little brother.
Had had the same reaction when I fell pregnant with a 7month old. I was so upset at first. She is the most amazing human and I cannot imagine life without her precious soul. Blessing to your family!!
I'm new to your channel. My last 2 kids are less than a year apart. My daughter turned 21 on February and my son turned 20 in July. I found the situations ideal, especially because my oldest daughter was in elementary school at the moment. Raising them at the same time was a godsend without being as overwhelming as if they have been twins. Y'all got this. Blessings!
