    Such beautiful skies!
    Love Mt Jefferson area...
(When you see the green vs all the burned area!)

When you camp in an area that has other hikers/campers, do you ever socialize with them in the evening or is everyone too tired and just wanting to turn in early?

For the most part, everyone did their own thing: cooking dinner and going to bed. At this stage of the hike, the hikers who are left on the trail are very focused on making it to Canada (or whatever their end goal is) and are hiking long days to make that happen. They tend to go to bed early.

Are you not seeing deer everywhere on this part of the trail?

We saw no deer really in this part of the trail. Or very few.

@@movingforward5599 well, those Oregon deer are dumb then. There were so many lush and beautiful areas you just walked through. If I were a deer I would be hanging out in those meadows.

@@deonlee373 too many cougars nowadays and the deer are seriously thinned out. They changed the hunting laws in last 20-30 years and......presto chango. By bye Bambi.

@@deonlee373 Cougars on average kill/eat one deer per week - doing the math, that's a lot of deer, in a year.

I dunno...are you going to be content with your little patch of northern Idaho when you are done with this adventure?

We already have plans for other adventures! Some of which will be in Idaho to get to know our new home state better, but others will be in other areas
