Wish I knew about this when my dog was still a puppy and constantly climbed on the door.
Hook & loop is a great idea!
Any advice as to how to remove the scratches/digs after they happen and before your guard is installed???
hey there. for scratches, if they're not too deep you can use a heat gun. go over the damaged area and they will slowly start to go away. careful not to apply too much heat. BTW you can get an inexpensive gun on amazon for about $20
Can I remove the adhesive without damaging my car if I need to
Unfortunately the flaps to help door guard stay in the window is too thick and left deep scratches in my brand new tinted windows (~$300).
I've been a big fan of Kurgo but this is one of the product that I'm not recommending without a redesign. My dog doesn't really scratches car doors but when I got a new car I went ahead and install this just to prevent accidental scratches, and now I'm left with two giant gauge on either side of my back windows due opening the window ONCE while this is installed.
My options are taking off the door guards or leave it on but never open the window again. I wish Kurgo had made the flaps thinner or at least warn the customers with tinted windows to not buy this product.
Update: the warning is apperently in the manual.
These things dont stay in the window, the slightest pressure pulls the tabs out...... no good
What kind of car do you have? I'm concerned about this too
Who’s wants to leave a velcro strip on their car door??? Really
It helps if your dog tries to pull it off.
I guess anyone who'd rather have velcro on their door as opposed to hundreds of scratches from their dog's toenails.
Worse than that, flaps that goes in the window panel to keep it in place actually scratches the tint on my windows.
Ugh me my GSD likes to scratch my door when she sees other dogs so instead of complaining. Get a grip on life and shut up. 😂
