WHAT to do in RENO NEVADA: TOP 5 THINGS TO DO has some good ideas about how to spend a day if you are visiting North Shore Lake Tahoe. It is a 45 minute drive from the North Shore Lake Tahoe to Reno. Reno, Nevada is known as "The Biggest Little City in the World" with a number of fun things do in for a day visit. This is an easy drive and a great activity to do in the Fall, when the snow has not arrived yet! We explore the riverwalk, an antique store, Atlantis casino and buffet, and the National Automotive Museum. Reno Nevada is a fun place to walk around and see all the beautification that is happening in the downtown area. Reno Nevada has art, food, casinos and the Truckee River and much more to offer. I'm looking for somewhere else to go other than Vegas for my October. I was thinking Atlantic City but flights there are so limited, if any, for me. I could do Biloxi but again pretty much the same as AC. Would you recommend Reno for a solo traveler, for 4 days? No car.

Well Reno is very quiet compared to Vegas! The Fall leaves will be there and if you stay in the Silver Legacy/El Dorado/Circus Circus part they are all in one section connected. You can get to other casinos by an Uber or maybe a bus? It’s spread out. The Peppermill and Atlantis is not within walking distance. If you enjoy a bit of casino time with a little bit of walking around I think solo travel is fine. Maybe you could take a bus to Lake Tahoe and see Harrrah’s and Hard Rock on the South Shore. It’s about 11/2 hours away. North Shore is closer but not much there. I’m not sure if there are any buses to take you around, I think you should see about that first beforehand! I always have a car when I go there. Enjoy yourself!
