Awesome I will be sending positive vibes and keep you in prayers. Your videos are what informed me what expect as a bka and I learned as I continued my journey thru this life and just to say thank you.
You are doing so great!!! You are such a great inspiration. Good luck with everything and everyone is behind you.
You are a major inspiration for me, though I just recently subscribed to your RUclips channel, I can already tell that your videos both past and present will be a wonderful thing to help me learn to cope with some things when I become an amputee.
Congratulations on getting your knee, I hope you can get your pains sorted out without meds. Found the pains subsided after a while of using my prosthetics but I'm sure you know how things worked out before. As always love your openness to talk about the problems. 💞
You are doing really well ! Fantastic
Good on Ya Christina! Hang in there.. I know what you're going through. Just gotta keep givin 'er!
Amazing!!! I haven't attempted stairs yet as a RBKA, that's great that you are already doing it!! You rock 😉
You're doing great so far. I'm glad you got a usable knee. Pain may be with you till your residual limb gets accustomed to this new and unexpected strain on it. After three years I still have soreness issues and have to go a day or two without using my prosthesis.
I didnt watch you for years and now i came back to watch your updates and i see from below knee, youre now above the knee amputee. Im still a below knee for 5 years now. Hope you still doing well inspite you going to Above knee🙏
As always you are incredible Chrisyine.Avrum
My Mom had the same amputation 2 weeks ago. She is in Washington state. I am in Alaska. My heart breaks that because of Covid I am not there with her. Thank you for sharing your journey
Your amazing thank you
Yeah that falling is going to happen in the beginning but youll get better and better on it. I just recently had to have my right let amputated because of bloodclots. Now im up walking as well. Happy walking 👋🏾
Always interesting! Your adaptability is admirable. If you have time, please tell us about your library, your interests, and (maybe) your beliefs.
You already walk without crutches, wow!
a.o.t. you will get better and better. next year you will be much better.
I use the same knee for about 5 years and so far is good. But i am thinking always for another one.maybe Rheo knee Ossur. Price is a problem. Christina i wish you all the best!
I guess that an MRI scan would be useful to ascertaining the presence of a neuroma, its location and size. If any interventional surgery is applicable, then investigation in trans muscle innervation at that time be considered, as it reportedly does much to reduce phantom pain and recurrence of a neuroma.
Unfortunately I can’t have MRI’s due to my cochlear implant.
👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻👍🏻keep on walking
suggestion CBD oil might help use it with a carrier oil and massage into painful area I'm using it and it helps a lot.
I'm almost a year in and I have so much nerve pain that I cannot wear a prosthesis yet. I'm so sad.
You will soon can wear it. The pain will surely go away. Im also an amputee for 5 years now. Below Knee
Just a quick question if I may. During a below knee amputation is the fibula a
Do you think you'll have to have another surgery to correct the nerve problems
If the nerve pain persists, maybe osseointegration might be something to look into?
Just a quick question if I may. During a below knee amputation are the fibula and tibia fused together or are they left floating? Thank you.
Depends on the surgeon. It can be done both ways.
this pain will go away...no worries a.o.t. the new collagens are not the same as before.
Two questions: 1) did they get the neuroma thing solved and 2) did you have nerve blocks before and after surgery and a TMR during surgery? (Was that 3 questions 🤔...sorry if it was)?
POWIEDZ ! Jak można amputować funkcjonalne kolano ! ! ? ? ?
"I was afraid I would drop him".
Nonsense you would sacrifice your own body for those you love, it is the way of a parent.
But a bit of caution never hurts.
Good on you and the new leg, you seem to be getting along.
are you going to be getting a bionic leg i think they called c leg
Probably!
You look tired. Hang in there
Accurate! I am tired!
Now you can cross your legs
No offense, but you look a bit tired and stressed. No doubt this is hard work but I am sure you will figure out how to do it all. Happy holidays to you and your awesome family!
The pain does not get any better, it only gets way worse and the only fix is a TMR surgery.
I warned you way before you had your AKA that the TMR surgery would have helped your BKA pain. Take the time to look the surgery up as it originated at Ohio State University. The pain you were experiencing was not a good reaon for an aka and having your femur cut to have your knees line up was also not good.
Your doctor should have brought up all that I have mentioned.
Just wait until you get the phantom pain that feels like a electric knife is being hammered into your bone and twisted , they come on about every 40 seconds, last for 3 seconds and can go on for hours, I am always afraid the cops are going to get called from me screaming out.
I’m sorry you’re struggling so much. Hang in there Sammy.
