      @@KB-qk1ic playing in the NBA for more than 5 years puts anyone who is smart enough to use their money wisely in a position where they’re good for it for the rest of their lives. 10+ years and we can start thinking of generational wealth. At the end of the day, it’s just a high paying job to some people and questioning a players passion to a sport is weird when there’s quite a few examples of people who don’t necessarily devote all their resources to a sport but still have relatively successful careers.

      He is great. But a lot of this is just flat out not true. He doesn’t teach robotics and he wasn’t o even on his schools chess team. The first is extremely exaggerated (he started a camp that host a multi day event at MIT, so robotics professionals come and teach at his camp.) the 2nd is just straight not true and has been repeated over and over again at this point.

    Here as he is about to win his first NBA championship. He went to my high school (a grade above me) and I distinctly remember the story of how one of his teachers told him he wouldn’t go anywhere in life and how she would probably end up seeing his picture listed in the county jail 5 years from then.
