    Emma, I am so impressed by your use and organization of your creative studio space! The depth of your work is breathtaking taking. So many Pastel artists prefer to keep their art extremely stylistic. My grandfather taught me that there can be a world for a style between the two. He also told me to allow my subject dictate the style I should use. Your work, your style is so inspirational...Thank you!!! In this troubling time, it is so wonderful to find an artist who makes my soul sing with joy!😊

    So interesting and relaxing to watch!!! From the quality of the work I would not have expected that you work in a motorhome because we tend to assume that great artists have big spaces, but you do it so well and make it look so charming. Keep up the amazing work!!!

    Hi Emma. This is Mary Anne from Southern California. When I saw your first (stationary) image, I knew I had to see your videos. I live in a motorhome, too. She’s 40 feet long & about 8 1/2 feet wide! I’m working on turning her into my art studio. Seeing you has given me a strong push. And I also have several fur babies: 2 small dogs & 2 cats. They’re my family. I am looking forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you.

      Hi Mary Anne! So great to hear of other artists in other parts of the world having similar ideas! We've spent the past almost 2 years living in ours. She sounds a lot smaller than yours! You can definitely have a good studio in there. Thanks for visiting my channel here and good luck with your studio transformation!

    Hello Emma, I like your work and video's. I also have not much space in my 'studio'. I see that you use such handy boxes for your pastels. Can you share with me where I can buy that boxes.

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  3 года назад

      Hi Tjaard, the boxes are made by Prym. Search Prym craft storage, they have a website but you can also find on Amazon, Ebay etc. Another video showing these boxes better ruclips.net/video/0IyRop6PwQg/видео.html

    I would love to learn more from you. I don't have soft pastels, only nupastels, pan pastels, and pastel pencils. Would I be able to use the same or similar techniques with those supplies through your patreon channel?

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  4 года назад

      Yes a lot of the techniques I'm teaching are about colour and how to build up the painting looking at composition, backgrounds as well as the main subjects. I don't think all Patrons are working with the same materials as me, although you will of course find it easier to work along if you are. If it's tips to apply to your own work that you're after then I would say you can still learn lots.

    Hi Emma, I realise this is an old video but it seems so perfect to find this considering my current plans for the future.
    I would love to be able to make and sell my art whilst on the road (aiming to buy a camper van). Did you find it difficult to package and send off your art from a van? how did you manage to scan your drawings if you did? And finally can you think of some ways besides online to market and sell your art on the road? I had thought of attending craft fairs for this purpose. Sorry for the many questions and any help is much appreciated 😊thank you.

    • @EmmaColbertArt

      The containers are made by a company called Prym. They're actually for craft but they work great for pastel. You can see more about them in this video ruclips.net/video/0IyRop6PwQg/видео.html
      Prym have a website but also try googling these storage boxes or Amazon sometimes have them too.

    Hi Emma, I’ve just discovered your channel and I love it! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I suffer from a condition which doesn’t allow me to do art for long periods of time and pastels, as you say, are ideal to pick up and put down. I’ve completed a few portrait pieces and animal portrait pieces but they were more trial and error than knowledge based about techniques etc. I’ve learnt so much from just watching the video of the little girl you uploaded about a year ago. It was beautiful, by the way, and I love the way you teach. Your voice is very easy to listen to and your teaching style is very calming:). I’m going to watch all your videos and maybe will follow you on patreon. Are your lessons on pardon in real time? Thanks for sharing your tips and expertise. I’m looking forward to learning:)

    • @EmmaColbertArt
      @EmmaColbertArt  5 лет назад +1

      Hi and thank you for the amazing feedback! I think pastels sound perfect for you as I love how immediate they are. Of course there's a learning curve like with anything worth doing, but it can be fun to see yourself progress.
      Definitely have a look through all the videos I have here as I also have some real time videos to get you started. The videos on Patreon are mostly in real time except when I'm doing something extremely repetitive, then rather than cut it all out, I speed it up by a small amount. Most of what I make is in real time, but there is a speed painting video to accompany each project.
      Happy pastelling!
      Emma
