Just the fact that members of Congress can be involved in the stock market is unbelievable. No wonder they’re ALL multi-millionaires on upper middle class incomes. 🍺

Well, even the CEO can trade his own stock. I think everyone should be able to invest and we need smart people in politics and often smart people are rich and rich people own stocks. They just need to do it in a transparent way, like CEOs are required to do.

@@TheBoobandifference is a CEO is taking the job to gain wealth. A politician is supposed to be doing the job for civic duty and to help its citizens…not supposed to do anything with them gaining wealth

@@robb5270 that’s your philosophy on it. Google how much a Singaporean politician makes. You know, the corrupt free country that seemingly does everything perfectly? No, we don’t agree with you. Westerners have a thing or two to learn from others. But they always think they know best, don’t you?

I worked in the pharmaceutical industry and met with many members of the FDA. FDA officials are not allowed to invest in drug companies because of their obvious exposure to insider information, I've never understood why congress is allowed to trade on insider information.

Actually, news does impact the market (news events are what triggers the herd initially to react emotionally with predictable outcomes). Yes, just like the black swan was not known months ahead of time, but many are missing an important detail. The market crashed because, we failed to break the previous swing high. The reason we failed is specifically because of the black swan event. Had the event not occurred, we would have broken the swing high, and the crash would not have happened. Effect cannot actually precede cause, even if that is a useful heuristic when analyzing a chart to find patterns to focus on........ I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Sandy Barclays, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

I started my portfolio last year with SCHD, VOO, and VUG after inheriting $300k. In terms of share price, VOO is up! and VUG is doing even better. What stock do you think has the best chance to 10x in 5 years?

The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.

Can't say I love Pelosi's reported trading record. At the same time, she and her husband both come from money, and Paul Pelosi founded his VC firm in the early 80's, so they were rich long before she entered Congress, and the fact that they've done well on stocks from their area (Silicon Valley) isn't much different from me doing well buying TSM decades ago due to my connections with Taiwan.

Buying Apple and Microsoft doesn’t raise a flag for me. They aren’t exactly “under the radar” stocks, that aren’t legitimate investments.
Jennifer Granholm (Sec of Energy) sitting on the board of Proterra (an EV bus company), owning stock options, then steering millions in loans and grants to that company DOES raise flag. It’s especially troublesome considering she made millions before they went bankrupt.
That being said, look for purchases in Intel - who can receive additional massive promises of ChiPs Act money. It could change them from “on the ropes” to “on top of the world” with the stroke of a pen, and Congress knows where that CHiPs money is going before anyone else.

I think there is compromise that can be made, instead of an outright ban put them under insider rules. They (and immediate family) can only trade certain stocks when not in a blackout periods. Blackout periods only open up for a month starting the day after earnings just like internal employees otherwise they are subject to insider trading penalties. If they share inside information with any one, that also puts them under insider trading penalties. Just an idea.

Saying Apple would be 5th largest country in the world using its market cap to countries GDP aka revenue makes Zero sense…….apples revenue is only 391 billion and free cash flow is 108 billion….so you would need to compare those to a countries (1yr gdp) revenue and taxes they collect (profit)
Very confusing why you would compare 1 yr gdp of a country to the market cap (a multiple) of a companies total value

Love your software has done tons for me. But I can't stand the sales pitch. The thought of having to pay for the software for the rest of my life or I lose features lol. All your doing is convincing me I need to learn how to do my own DCF model and finding comparable software. These days content is free. I believe you should just continue to add value. I think ur great teacher and have a good thing here. But the sales pitch makes you seem like car salesmen. I think it out if touch these days. But what do I know.
