There is a great episode of Hey Arnold where Arnold catches his idols last home run in their career final game, probably worth some cheddar and Arnold returns to bring it back to the athlete for their personal importance. They end up playing catch together at the stadium. Todays cartoons need Hey Arnold.

Yeah, there's not much to say about caught baseballs if they're not signed.
I received an mlb baseball at a game that my 6th grade class was on field trip for. One of the students had a family member who worked for the stadium, and brought all of us in her group used practice balls. Might not be as exciting as catching a home run, but it was certainly a wonderful experience I won't forget. And that ball has a nice little place on my shelf of collectibles to this day.

The jar of mayo bit is a classic. You wash it out, fill it with vanilla pudding, and just go to town.

1:22 That's the rule for every ballgame at every level. If a fan interferes with a ball in play, he/she is automatically ejected. The PA announcer reminds the crowd of this before every game.

The game where Ichiro bumped into the fan later to be known as "Ichiro girl" happened about 10 years ago.
This year when the Mariners put Ichiro into the Mariners Hall of Fame she was chosen to throw out the first pitch of the game to Ichiro.

The ball would be worth more if it was signed by the batter .
or if its the first homerun of a future hall of famer like mike trout or a milestone hits/homerun that could worth millions - like the aaron judge homerun record balls i think it was worth around 2m+ - luckily it dropped into the bullpen lol so he got the ball for free
Home run balls are worth a lot of money if it’s a significant home run.
- A highly touted rookies 1st ever big league HR
- A players singe season HR record ball
- A career HR recorded or a future hall of famers career high HR
- A walkoff HR, game 7 in the World Series
Those HR balls are usually given back to the player that hit them in exchange for something. Some fans are now holding back & waiting for their payday.
Also, home runs are usually signed by the player afterwards & given back to the fan. It’s usually not worth much unless it’s a postseason ball or All-Star player
This was so long ago I don't even remember where or what baseball game it was. We had gotten last minute tickets and we're sitting in the bleachers and there was a guy in the bleachers who picked out the left fielder, of the visiting team , to just harass through the entire game. At first it was kind of annoying but after a while it started getting really funny, mostly because the guy was getting drunker and drunker. The stuff he was saying was so hysterical like "Man, you couldn't carry Ken Griffey Jr's jockstrap."
Ken Griffey Jr wasn't even relevant at the time but it was so funny and out of context it was hysterical. He eventually led the entire bleachers to do a sing song version of the fielders name for about 2 or 3 minutes. It was a pretty boring game and he was the MVP of that game. 🤣🤣
Kabir, I bought a case of bottled water once and it didn't matter how strong you were, you could not open them for anything! I had to put pliers out so we could open them.
I think the end of that video should cue up a fans winning compilation
I'm not saying they all go to the stands because some are scuffed and just get recycled for practice, but over 100 balls are used in a game. But outside of historic moments, those baseballs are sentimental in value, not monetary. It would also be near impossible to authenticate an individual ball hit into the stands for resale down the road.
Also, some of the guys who lost their food going after the ball...... The food was more valuable haha
Getting the ball or puck is usually just a fun souvenir thing. As a kid, I had a collection of pucks that I got during hockey games and was only annoyed at not getting a puck once. I had my head down to put my drink down (no cupholders), looked up again, and a puck was inches away from my face. I threw my hands up, deflected the puck behind me, and some darn kids ran up there an got it. At the time, I was probably nine or ten, and from where it hit my hands, the thing was going to hit me right between the eyes. I was mad at my dad for not grabbing it, but he just always said that he was more concerned that I was okay (darn dad).
Kabir, it's so fun watching your reactions to things. I am a sports lover too. I go for the D-Line in football and hockey. I am a crazy lady that loves to see the gloves come off during the hockey games, especially when the other team ticks me off. LOL Keep bringing the videos. :)

The antics of cycling fans on those big mountain stages are unbelievable. Yup that's the hazard of golfing on some courses in Arizona.
Most of those caught balls, generally, aren't worth much as is, maybe a few bucks; but if it was a home-run ball from a big star, that could be worth 20 or 30 ... but if it was from their last at-bat in their career!?! I heard of one like that ... some collector-fan paid them like $1000 (or was it $2000?) for it! And probably thought it was a steal at that price!

I had the hockey glass beer splash happen to me at a semi pro game. It's sucks
Baseballs were considered team property and had to be returned to the team. An 11 year old boy Robert Cotter refused to return the ball at a Phillies game in 1922 and the owner of the Phillies insisted he be arrested and charged. The following day Judge Brown dismissed the charges. Newspapers around the country ran stories about it and blasted major league baseball and the owners. baseball got such bad press from this incident that they began the tradition that foul balls can be kept by the fans.

Mostly, the balls are just good souvenirs. Unless it was a meaningful home run. Like, if a player hit a home run to win the World Series, or a player's very first home run. Then the player would be interested in buying the ball from the fan that ended up with it.
It’s a tradition to try to get a ball but it’s also a tradition if you’re older and there is a youngster by you, you toss it to the kid

1:23 - yeah, you interfere with a ball in play, you're going to be asked to leave. A ball that is beyond the fence is fair game for fans, even if a fielder is trying to catch it, but you can't reach beyond the fence into the field.
12:15 - with the exception of specific historic ones (milestone or record-breaking home runs, playoff winners), they're really not worth much. It's mostly tradition. Cubs fans always throw it back if it's a home run hit by a visiting player.
Kicking them out seems a little harsh, if they apologise might they be allowed to stay?

It depends usually on the play as far as the worth of baseballs and their worth ...also the level of the player and what the circumstances were of the game. But man so much fun whether they are worth a million or not :)

14:04 - I understand what you're saying but the players and officials hate fans running on the field. It delays and disrupts the game, and you never know if these guys are just drunk or dangerous.
A few years ago a couple fans came out of the stands at a baseball game and beat up the 1st base coach.
And remember years ago when a psychopath came onto a court during a Tennis match in Germany and stabbed Stefi Graf.
There are a lot of fucked up people out there, and when someone's crazy enough to run onto a field during a game, athletes, and officials don't know if they're a threat or not.
Chicken (bites, or fillets) and Coca Cola, as long as it has ice in it, is actually surprisingly nice.

You catch a baseball, give it to kid nearest you. Especially if you're a grown ass man.
There's a screen behind the batter. The woman who dropped her beer when the batter fouled one straight back didn't have to jump out of the way, because there was no way for the ball to hit her. I think it was a reflex action on her part.
I was at an Oakland A's game once when a fan got on the field and managed to evade the security people for a while. He eventually stopped to catch his breath near second base, and the second base umpire picked him up and body-slammed him.
I was at a Brewers game with a friend and her parents, including her mother who had a stroke and no longer had good reflexes. We were in the mezzanine seats which get a decent number of foul balls. One came straight at us and it is amazing how fast those things are. It was heading straight for Mom's face but the guy next to her reached out. He didn't get the ball (it bounced off his hand to the seats below) but he got our eternal gratitude and a free beer.

I remember Morgana the Kissing Bandit. I was at a Brewers game when she ran on to the field to kiss Robin Yount. She would get thrown out of the game, but was never banned. Granted, this was mostly the 70's and 80's

The balls basically aren't worth anything except bragging rights. Value goes up if it is signed by the batter. Value goes sky high if it is a special ball like a player's 3000'th hit or the last out in a World Series win.
@kabirconsiders The clip of the lady @20:26 is funny because as you said, she’s sitting right behind the batter. Baseball stadiums have nets strung up behind home plate specifically to catch wild pitches and/or foul balls hit back towards the stands. She didn’t have to flinch.
It’s fun to see them run on the field, I’m like though you paid $100+ for that ticket and now your spending your night in jail.
I think the night in jail is worth it for the buzz they get running into the field 😂
I collect game used memorabilia. MLB game balls vary greatly in value. Just a regular "into the seats" foul is worth very little mainly because there is no way to really prove authenticity. The common fouls that stay in the park are authenticated by MLB and can be purchased in the team shops for a reasonable amount. The really expensive ones are the MLB authenticated hits and home runs from star players. Milestone balls can sell for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, although this is pretty rare. At the end of the day, without the MLB authentics sticker on the ball, they really have very little value.
Cant touch the ball while in play. It will get you kicked out every single time. Look up the Cubs guy in the world series think it was it was around 2008 ish

There are something like 2.7 million baseballs used in a season. If you want a ‘game used’ baseball they aren’t that hard to find.

@@kabirconsiders there's over 2400 games per season and if there is even the slightest scratch the ball is thrown out.
The balls caught in games, if they were worth anything, most likely whoever hit the ball would be looking to own it because it is some kind of milestone. So, 99.999% of the balls caught are not worth anything on the market. Those rare ones are like a future hall of famers first homerun or a homerun that sets a new record. Maybe a world series winning walk off homerun. Usually a representative of the player or team or even the league will approach the fan during the game and try to make a deal. Occasionally, it is something that might not be immediate but almost always, they end up giving it up to the player/team/league. Maybe trhey get a decent payoff for it. If they refuse, they will probably be lambasted in the sports media.

The only time a foul ball or a home run ball is worth anything significant if it won a playoff game or series, broke a record like a home run or hit record etc. A general run of the mill foul ball or homerun isn’t gonna be worth much.

Most home runs aren’t worth much money unless it’s a record setting home run ball like if somebody breaks a home run record and you catch that ball it could be like hitting the lottery
If its a milestone for a player you can usually get a signed bat or some tickets or something like that for a foul ball. If its a major milestone it can be worth quite a bit (Barry Bonds career home run record ball sold at auction for over $750,000). Regular run of the mill foul balls are fairly worthless outside of a souvenir/memento of the game, literally dozens can go into the stands by bat or being tossed by players every game.
Unrelated running onto the field isn't necessarily about "ruining the game" its dangerous for players. Who knows someone's intent when they willingly go on a field knowing they face legal action and a lifetime ban. See what happened to Monica Seles for reference.

MLB baseballs are generally $8-10 a piece, unless they have some sort of historical relevance.
We got a baseball that Dave Justice home run ball. They took us to the office and gave us a certificate to prove it was his 36 home run ball.
The fan that grabbed Albert Puljol’s 700th home run ball has put it on sale. It will bring in a lot of money.
99.9% of balls caught by fans are worth nothing. Now home runs that win playoff games are worth something, and homeruns that break the homerun records are worth millions. Check Barry Bonds 72 record breaking homerun and the crowds reaction, I think that ball sold for 3 million. Aaron Judge broke the record this year not on steroids, and that ball is worth millions also. Sometimes the homerun is worth something to the individual player, and they send someone from the team to talk to the fan to see if he will exchange the ball for autographed bats and jerseys and other goodies from the player, and most fans accept.

I never have really understood the mania for baseballs. But I guess its more the memories it stirs later than intrinsic value. Still, its worth 30 bucks brand new for an "official" MLB ball. Is it really worth getting a concussion diving for one?
Chicken dipped in Coke is ok. I bit one and part of the chicken fell in my soda and I ate it.
Coke (Soda or pop for everyone North of the Mason Dixon Line) is a great marinade for meats. I cook a pretty decent slow roasted Dr. Pepper pulled brisket. Coke was a marinade staple in my house growing up. Long way to say chicken dipped in Coke is not a deal breaker. 🐓🥤
No these foul balls or even real home runs balls are worth basically the same as buying one. Unless it’s a record breaking hit or home run, catch it, act like a beast and then give it to a kid that was trying too
Game used baseballs have virtually no value unless it’s part of a milestone like a record breaking home run. Or if it’s signed by a famous player.
DALLMYD has dived to find many a lost engagement ring, and has found them, along with phones, guns and so many other things. May be worth reacting to. Adventures with Purpose has found missing people - also may be worth reacting to. Very popular channels with huge followings.

Unless its a milestone hit (for example, one of my team's players recently gave a fan $5,000 for his 100th Home Run ball) the balls aren't really worth anything. Its just more for the story of "I went to a game and caught a ball"
Went to a lot of games over the years and I still have the 1 foul ball I caught 30 years ago when I was 6-7 years old.

a million isnt early retirement unless you fid a good financial advisor and even then your monthly pay is still average like me i retired off a million at 22 and locked it all in an investment where i get paid an allowance of the intrest every month of $2,231.21 plus $10,000 every 5th febuary so 2012 2017 2022 and so on until I'm 105 or if i die the payments will continue until 2095. getting paid an allowance from money i already have from an insureance settlement means no taxes until the point i start getting more than the million i put in and making around $27,000 a year thatll take awhile 37 years and by then ill be rounding the age of getting old age pension
