The chanting "Go Nas" by these little suburban kids and him telling them to shoot for their dreams. In that moment, a line was blurred. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it. Whatever, music brings people together and this is a real moment.
As a 14 year old Black kid from a middle class family, living in an integrated middle class neighborhood and going to a majority White & Hispanic grammar school at the time (Fall of 1996), I know EXACTLY what you mean... These kids today have NO idea what it's like to be a child of the 80s and teen in the 90s...I feel sorry for them, LOL!
All the young shorties yelling "Go Nas" was so priceless, I can only imagine what that did for his pride, you saw the smiles on their faces. That was the best thing about that, this man was able to vibe with the youth, and that record is so powerful man, the message in the street dreams remix is amazing, I wish the youth of this generation gained that privilege now.

Rappers performed at the KCA and stuff it was more common back cause there were more live sketch shows back then compared to now where everything is a sitcom, game show, or cartoon. But yeah this wouldn’t fly now, lyrics about cigar smoking and gun toting and an R. Kelly chorus in the background weren’t as sensitive at the time
Still my favourite video up here. Literally rappin' jewels into the kids' minds.. and the kids shouting "Go Nas" is their perfect response 💆🏾#Nostalgia

It's sad when these new rappers don't respect old school rappers, I guess they don't understand it is Nas and his A-alikes that made hip-hop commercial and profitable for them to become rich. Can one imagine a street corner art being played on All that.
