Got a szco Kentucky Bowie, and man I’m surprised on how it survived the beating I put it through for my trip. Was glad it didn’t fall apart on me.

I have a SZCO account as well, and I like these Bowies. Unfortunately, with 11" circumference palms, I doubt I'd be able to hold onto thr handles.

@@HisDadsBar the only knife I have so far, is the SZCO High Carbon Steel Bowie. I bought it off Amazon. It needed some modification to the handle, as the fit and finish was poor. For a $21 knife, it performs extremely well when sharpened. I have XXL hands in width, so the brass cross guard that curves backwards on the lower part of the blade, hits my knuckles. I should have solved this by sanding down and refinishing the wooden handle, due to its squared off nature. Instead, I bent the brass guards forward. The knife can still be modified and polished, I just wish I hadn't messed with the guard.

@@HisDadsBar I need to buy $100 minimum on the SZCO website, in order to make a purchase. Given how inexpensive items are on their website. I've found it difficult to buy enough items to make it to $100. I had enough the other day, but the Sable Bowie is currently out of stock. I'm pretty sure the SZCO Sable Bowie is identical to the Timber Rattler Western Outlaw Bowie. I once ordered both from Amazon, but returned them. They were both handle-heavy, instead of blade-heavy. That said, for the price on the SZCO website, it's definitely worth buying. Of all the SZCO blades, the high carbon Bowie is still my favorite. I'm not sure what it's made from, but it seems to be some variant of 420HC or something even more high carbon, because it rusts like crazy. I know it has a nice flat ground edge, and it swings the way a Bowie should. A big part of the reason I haven't purchased the Cold Steel Wild West Bowie, is because it has a hollow grind, and it's way too large. I actually prefer the SZCO to the Cold Steel WW.

@@HisDadsBar you ever notice that you see the SZCO High Carbon Bowie for sake under another name, on stores like Etsy, for $100+? I guess they buy them in bulk, because the price is very low. Then they sand and stain the handles, and sell them for 6+ times the price.
