Just started to study product design and just searched for good tutorials to improve my sketching skills. Your Videos are simply awesome! Very professional and clear, also detailed enough but still not too long - everything just right. Love it!
This was what I needed. All the other tutorials I've found try to explain this concept on complex objects like faces, characters. It became challenging trying to apply what they were showing on simple forms. Thanks!!!!
I love where this channel is going :D and can't wait to learn much more about adding color, volume and texture to sketches *,* Thank you so much for sharing Reid 😊
Learning lots of great tips. I went to design school but it's been a while now so this is all coming back quick thanks to you. When will you be uploading more videos?
Your videos got a really cool flow. Coming back from 10h of work, I am sitting here, having dinner and watch your videos for enjoyment and to get better at drawing. Love it! Thanks for sharing!
I've learnt so much after watching your videos! Simply thankful to chance upon your Instagram 2 years back, and now being able to learn from you is definitely amazing! Really hope you can drop by my school in Singapore and prolly teach us a thing or two about product & industrial design :((
Thank you for following my work and I am glad to hear that you found it helpful. It would be great to visit your school. My email address is in my instagram bio.
Airship Hi, if you mean for underlay sketching it is because marker blends into the background and basically eras s itself where pencils are oil based and a line never goes away
Thanks for the tips and personally this kind of videos motivate me to continue learning. I have a little question. With other marker you recommend beside the paper mate flair because I can't find it here I'm Argentina...
Hi, I want to do designing as a career mainly product design which is similar, I'm currently one year away from uni but my subjects choices doesn't meet the requirements for what the university want, I'm currently doing Product design, fine art and applied science however the uni I want to go to requires maths or physics which I don't do, I just wanted to ask if you really needed to do maths or physics in order to get a placement for doing product/ industrial Design?
Lesd3 Guzman Hi, yes they both apply especially if you go down a more engineering heavy route. There are plenty of universities globally that teach industrial design. Make sure you are applying to the correct course
Car designers... Take this with a grain of salt. Having a thick line all the way around your design will end up flattening it when you're talking about a shape as complex as a car.
When you believe perspective is the most difficult thing, and a simple clear and well done tutorial destroys that belief and gives you hope!
It all comes down to practice. Keep at it!
Thanks for the feedback. i plan on doing more videos over the next few months!
Thank you!

This single video delivered more precise understandable information than the last ten I watched combined. You have an excellent talent for delivery.
Why are there not more views on this??? It's so easy to understand!!! Makes more damn sense than when my art teacher tried to teach us.

Loved all five of the basics/quick tips you've done so far, Reid. Is there a reason why you use markers instead of pencils?
Airship Hi, if you mean for underlay sketching it is because marker blends into the background and basically eras s itself where pencils are oil based and a line never goes away
Reid Schlegel Ah, that makes sense. Great videos, Reid. You do a good job explaining those concepts.
Excellent , thanks
