Hello, which of the two projectors would you recommend? the yaber ace k2 or the wimius p62, I don't care about the sound, I have an external home cinema
I care more about the image. Thank you very much!

The K2 is a much better machine, however it did suffer with dust issues as mentioned in my review.
But with a simple modification i solved that issue.
I did a review on the fix but it's not a ideal.
Hopefully Yaber would have solved these issues by now.
But for the money the Wimius p62 is an excellent machine.
But depends how much your willing to spend as the Yaber cost significantly more 🙂👍

@@ReviewingHub I was curious if the projector had a vertical image offset (not lens shift, but how far from the center of the lens is the image projected upward) but I guess that comment did not post. Anyway, I ordered one of these and it does not have a vertical offset. The center of the lens is the center of the image which means you will have to adjust the keystone if you mount it to the ceiling, which isn't great because it means you are losing pixels and ANSI lumens. It's still a very respectable image but it would be nice if it had an offset of 50-100%.
Also, those JBL speakers sound fantastic for a projector. I've owned a lot of cheap projectors over the years and this easily sounds the best. When I do outdoor movie nights with my kids and wife, I usually have to drag out my AV receiver and LCR from my surround sound but I think this projector will do just fine without the surround sound (for outdoor movies, in my home theater I still recommend a dedicated surround sound system).
      Thanks again for the review!

@@jon1913 That's interesting! good to know. 🙂👍 Thankfully this projector has a huge range of keystone so it should be ok for almost any room at most angles.
Yeah the speakers are the best I've tested so far in these budget projectors. I think if projectoring outside it would probably be better to have your projector Infront of you rather than behind.
Because atleat all the sound will be coming from the front, instead of behind you so should be much more immersive 🙂👍
Failing that you can always pair it with a good Bluetooth soundbar 🙂👍
Hope your enjoying your new machine, let me know if you notice any black spots showing up on the image, I'm trying to solve these issues at the moment with modifying this machine.

Hi, I want to buy a projector for home. Which one would you suggest? With my little knowledge, I am planning for Yaber K1, K2s, or Umtilea Apollo P40 or P60. Which one you recken in terms of ANSI lumens and picture quality. Waiting for your prompt suggestion. Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the comment. 🙂
The Yaber machines are far superior to all the models you mentioned.
If you don't need the K2 for the smart capability because you already have a smart device that you can plug into the projector and you already have a Bluetooth speaker or soundbar,.
Then, by far, the K1 is the best option; it has far better dust resistance and build quality and is overall just a better machine.
That being said, if they have sorted out the issues I described with the K2, maybe the K2 is the better choice.
But from my experience with the K2, I think the K1 was far superior.
I hope this answers your question. 🙂👍

If u would set the Projektor in a angle bc ur room has no other change and use keystone auto correction do get a good pic in the middle of ur room, would u lose image quality and sharpness in the edges? I had that problem with a cheap Projektor, this is mid pricey

    • @ReviewingHub
      @ReviewingHub  2 месяца назад +1

Hi there, yes using keystone does affect picture quality on all projectors unfortunately. Ideally you don't want to have any keystone applied as you loose resolution and sharpness.
It's a great feature and definitely works well and can help you in weird shape rooms, but yes it can affect picture quality.
But some people might not even see a difference to picture quality.
There was an update to the hako dongle built into the projector the other day, I updated to the latest android operating system but haven't checked it yet.
There is still sharpness bug on the user preset were it forgets your sharpness settings but only on the user preset.
The rest of the presets are fine though.
      Hope this helps you. 🙂👍

Hi thanks for your comment :) I recommend both projectors, they are both great!
But if price isn't a factor to you, than the K2s has more ANSI lumens leading to a brighter image, so everything pops more...
However, I experienced no bugs with the P64 projector, and since my k2s review, I've experienced a lot more bugs with this projector, so it needs a massive update.
The P64 User interface has none of these problems that I've faced with the K2s.

      @ReviewingHub  11 месяцев назад

Hi yes on paper the K2s is 200 Ansi lumens brighter than the wimius P64 and you can tell the difference in brightness level.
But unless you have both machines like I have and go back and forth constantly with each machine, I'd say you won't be missing much.
The Wimius P64 is an excellent machine for the Price.
If I didn't have all the problems with my K2s then this machine would be the winner over all the machines I've tested.
Simply for the brightness level, the sound from the speakers, and the added technology built into the machine, such as Android TV and NFC etc.

I have a YAber K2s modification video it's on my channel my friend I show how to fully clean the LCD and remove dust from this machine, and how to prevent it in the future.
If you don't want to do it this way, on the bottom of the projector there is a label on the bottom, you peel this up and there should be a door underneath, you lift up the door and buy yourself a rocket blower of eBay have the door facing the floor with it open and blast air into the bottom of the machine with the rocket blower and dust should fall out of the bottom.
That's the simplest way without taking the machine apart, but you could always watch my video for a modification that stops the dust alltogether. 🙂👍

That motor sound was very concerning and the 5ghz wifi issue was very disappointing, however, not a dealbreaker for me as I plan to hook up my projector directly to a PC. THat dust issue seemed quite annoying too (but I've dealt with worse lol my local cinema that I worked for had a giant black splot on their projector lens for an entire year, even after hundreds of customer complaints, they never bothered to fix it, deciding to buy a brand new projector instead), but I'm glad the picture quality didn't disappoint. My main reason wanting this over the K1 was the extra brightness and your video did it justice. I can actually see how good the image looks and the sound was noticeably better.

      @ReviewingHub  Год назад +1

Hi thanks for Your comment, it's entirely up to you they are both pretty close in terms of specifications..
I haven't tested the Anker Cosmos yet so I can't comment on the picture quality.
The best bang for buck would be the Yaber hands down! It has the best technology inside a projector for the price..
However, they need to fix the software in this projector before I can fully recommend it..
Don't get me wrong its an amazing projector and the picture and sound performance is excellent!
But the UI needs fixing first, before it has my full support, I'm sure Yaber are currently working on a fix right now after my video..
      Well fingers 🤞 anyway.
The decision is completely yours my friend.
I would probably recommend the Anker over the Yaber right now, because in the Anker the UI is probably running as it should be .
As owning a projector is about the user experience when operating it as well..

      Hi

Yaber looks good - including the JBL speakers. But the grinding noise on lesne is unlikely to change with a software update. The dust accumulation is likely to be a long term problem. Also come across some users saying corners are possibly blurry.
With the points mentioned I think the Nebula cosmos would be a better choice. Although an older projector - 2020 with older tech - 2017/18 parts. However maybe more robust and a more refined projector for now.
Any thoughts on the above be great. Thanks again great work and knowledge 👍

They said they have watched my videos, and they are passing all the information off to the correct team.
So hopefully the software will soon be fixed.
I don't think it will take them long to fix these issues, I'm hoping they are working on a fix right now to send over the air in an update..
Don't let my lens issue put you off, I think mine was damaged during transportation as my box was crushed quite a bit upon delivery .
If you can't wait for a projector I'd say Anker Cosmos would be a great choice, and I don't think you would be disappointed with it's performance.
However if you can wait a while and you want to save some money, Yaber K2s would be the best bang for buck in terms of picture quality, sound quality, and all the technology inside the projector.
It's just the bugs they need to fix first, which I'm sure won't be that long.
But for now Anker would be a great choice for sure for the higher ANSI lumens.
If you are after a low cost, budget projector with excellent picture performance, then Wimius is a good option. :)

I did read the grinding lense somewhere else, too, so I guess it's a common dominator. Thought maybe some WD40 may do some magic, but not ideal.
Software issues should be ironed out soon with a software update. Think Yaba will need to check in on the grinding lense and dust accumulation. The K1 seemed to be rated very well for being anti dust.
So, guess maybe 2 steps forward and one step back.
Keep up the good work and keep in touch with viewers. Yes your get a lot of naysayers - majority but also some genuine folk too.
On this occasion I will likely give the Yaba a miss. Having a look at Dangbei, nebula (from 2020) or xgimi. As it's a first projector be nice to get something decent while not also paying too much = )

Hi thanks for you comment, the K2s is suppose to have a closed engine yes, but looking round my lens I do see a gap where the dust is getting through, maybe this is a one off.

So maybe it sustained a whack during transportation it's hard to say.
But yes my projector is sucking in quite a bit of dust.
So I'm hoping for all that buys this projector that there's will be fine..
Odvioisly I'm a reviewer so I have to point these things out when I spot them.
As for the sound, this projector is the best on the market, nothing even comes close at the moment, it has the best sound of any projector that I've tested.
Don't let the small issues affect your decision because it's still an amazing projector, and I'm in talks with yaber, and have pointed out all these issues that I've found.
I'm hoping they are working on a software fix for all the bugs that I've found in the operating system.

Hi buddy welcome to the channel, I've never owned a bulb projector, I've only tested LED projectors so I can't compare them to a BenQ, Vewsonic, or Optimo.
The Yaber K2s produces ritch colours, some might say a little saturated, but I personally love that look, in my colours,.
I would say you can fully customise each of the presets to your liking, such as contrast, hue, and saturation, to make the colours how you prefer them.
However, after my review, I've found several bugs in the operating system. If you change any of the presets, the picture doesn't change. And if you manually change them, by taking down all the sliders, such as contrasts, sharpness, hue, the image still doesn't change.
So that whole section doesn't work, neither does the colour temperature section.
I've reached out to Yaber, and sent them a video of all the bugs I've found in the operating system, but they are yet to reply.
So if colours are your main concern, I would hold off for a while, untill they update the software, and fix these bugs.
Because right now, none of the presets do nothing, and neither does changing any of the sliders.
      Hope this helps :)

I don't have any experience with the VIZONY FHD, I would love to get it on the channel for a review.
It looks like a lovely projector, with all the right specifications.

I will reach out to VIZONY and see if they are willing to send one in for a product review.
I'm not sure they will, as this channel has only been running for a month.
I'm actually curious myself it looks like a lovely projector.
May I ask what concerns did you have with your K2s?
Are you experiencing the same bugs as me?
I've reached out to Yaber and sent them a video of all the issues I've found in the UI.
They said they will pass this information on to the team.

That's why I reached out to them multiple times, but they have now seen my video, so hopefully a fix will be coming for it soon.
I'm sure most the bugs can be ironed out over an update, and the black spots can be removed easily from the image so it's not the end of the world.
I just mearly wanted to point out that the optically sealed engine wasn't working properly, so they can improve the design.

Then I think thier software engineers will get to work right away on it, as it's probably affecting a large amount of machines.
I told them I'm happy to work with them in the future, so thinks like this doesn't happen again in the future.

Yeah mines the same mate, it's not sharp across the whole frame, but it's acceptable, does yours make that horrible grinding noise when focusing?
With projectors in general, it's luck of the draw when it comes to sharpness, some are better than others, even when it's the same model of projector, its a bit like TVs you can get a good panel, with no backlight bleed or dead pixels etc.. or get one with both them problems.
It can also depend on how kind your delivery driver was, if it's been bashed about a lot, lens elements can move slightly in the optics causing a soft image.
You could send your projector back, and hope to get a better one, but you could get a replacement with less focus.
It's luck of the draw on these types of products sadly.

Yes...we contacted them yesterday and to our pleasant surprise they sent a response this morning to some of our concerns. Since you are now quite well versed on this projector, I wanted to share their response. I have not yet had the time to try the fixes Yaber suggests, but let me know if any of these resolve any of the issues that we share with the K2s or if these respond to the same "bugs" on your K2s. as ours! Appreciate your response
Hello Support. We recently purchased a Yaber K2s. We chose this unit because of its reviews, and for the fact it boasted 800 ANSI and other features. Previous units we tested were 500 ANSI and were just not bright enough either with in subdued light or in darkness. The Yaber K2s seemed to be the correct fit but we still have some issues that we hope you can help us resolve:
      1. The image on the projector screen is still too dark and there seems to be no way to increase the brightness. The brightness control defaults to 100% and I can darken the image but I cannot increase the brightness. This is the most important feature that needs to be improved otherwise the unit will need to be returned. The color is great ... just too dark. Watching Netflix movies, it is often so dark that faces have no features.
      2. Some adjustments in the picture quality (user mode) do not seem to result in any change. Hue does absolutely nothing, the sharpness continually defaults to 0 no matter where I manually set it, and the brightness issue is still not resolvable.
      3. I adjust the zoom control to fit the image to my screen (to about 90%) but whenever I press the focus button, the zoom control returns to maximum 100%. This is really frustrating since I then need to go back to the settings and return the zoom to my screen size.
      4. The K2s boasts an internal JBL Dolby audio system. The sound is really good but unfortunately when I watch something using the internal tv dongle, the sound needs to be place at maximum just to be heard correctly ... and the projector is only a few feet away from us. A great audio system like JBL is useless if I need to use my bluetooth speakers just to be able to enjoy the movie we are watching.
      5. Is Yaber going to provide software updates/fixes for these problems, or should I just return this unit and look elsewhere for a good projector?
      Response:
Thank you for your message. We are very sorry for not replying to you in time.

      1.
      ✔ 1) When you try to adjust the picture mode, please don't adjust it in the main interface, but in the interface where you play the video or any other interface;
(Since the main interface doesn't do image processing, it will look unchanged after you adjust it)
✔ 2) You can adjust the picture mode when you use the built-in Android TV, TV Stick, HDMI connection, USB connection, or even iOS cast screen. (Long press the K2s Remote "Menu" button can directly call up the system settings)
      2.
      After you have adjusted the projection size to 90%, please go to "Settings" - "Projection Settings" - turn off "Auto Keystone". The projection size will not change even if you move the projector or auto-focus after the setting is completed;
      3.
When you play the content of the built-in Android TV, the sound is controlled by multiple parties. At this time, not only the remote of the K2s projector can control the volume, but also the remote of the Android TV can control the volume.
      ✔ 1) Please use the remote of the K2s projector to increase the volume of the projector itself;
      ✔ 2) Please use the remote of Android TV to increase the volume of the built-in streaming program;
      ✔ 3) If you want to control the projector with only one remote control, please turn on the "HDMI CEC" function of K2s and the "HDMI CEC" function of Android TV;
Please feel free to let us know whether your issue has been resolved or not.
If the problem persists, please contact us again and we will do our best to resolve it for you.
We sincerely apologize again and hope we can get your understanding and forgiveness. Looking forward to your reply, I wish you a happy life!

@user-wn1yp4fb9y I'm glad you got a reply, yep they are 100% correct on the picture settings not working on the main user interface they only work when on a video source such as the android TV part or on a HDMI source. You need hold the menu button down and this brings up the picture presets.
Very strange that it don't work on the main UI they really need to sort that issue out.
As for the sound to be honest I never used the android dongle in my Tests, I was using a Google Chromecast I think.
I will check this for you tomo, and see if I get low sound on netflix via the Android TV dongle.
My dongle is useless in my projector just keeps kicking me off WiFi so I'm not using that altogether.
As for your brightness issue, they have the brightness in the wrong category.
If you launch netflix or go onto a video source hold down the menu button the one that has the 3 lines. It will bring up your settings.
      Scroll down to projection settings.
      You will see.
      Projection mode.
      Projection settings.
      Brightness settings.
Click on brightness settings and you can change the brightness from 50% - 100%
Use the Yaber remote, not the android remote.

Hi I just checked the Netflix volume and you are completely right! Netflix volume is a lot lower than all other platforms. It's very low compared to RUclips and prime.
This is for the built in JBL speakers, and even for a set of Bluetooth speakers very strange.
This has to be a Netflix issue on the Hako Mini dongle inside the projector.
Even with both volumes turned up on each remote, it's relatively low compared to the rest of the apps.
Also for your brightness problem not only check my previous comment, but I must add make sure you do not have the quiet mode setting on. Because this reduces the brightness by atleat a couple of hundred lumens. 🙂👍

Although its not a smart projector so doesn't have android built into the machine like the K2.
The K2 is also an excellent machine but I did have a few quality control issues with the one I received, so I can't recommend it over the K1.
The K1 has far better dust resistance, better build quality, and the contrast and sharpness was better on the K1..

I know this can be vary annoying!
But your machine can be fixed with a quick clean of the LCD and this should remove those black and white spots on the image.

  • @theac1984

the main dust fault is where the lens pops forward and back, all the dust that accumulates on the side of the lens while it's out then gets dragged back into the system when the lens retracts back inside the unit, and the the fans just have a game of footie with the dust and kick it about till it finds the gaps in the so called sealed engines, will not be purchasing any more projectors till they irradicate these issues, they are not cheap just to watch dust!

Hi buddy thanks for your comment the projection distanced of the p64 are as follows 1.6m 49"
      2m 60"
      2.5m 75"
      3m 93"
      3.5 105"
      4m 125"
      4.5m 141"
      5m 157"
      6m 300"
The projection distances of the K2s are not listed In the manual, all it states is the correct distances is between 2-3 meters.
I have a 80 inch screen, and I only can project around 84 inches being 3 meters away so anything over 100" would prob be 3.5 is my guess..
If you go to this website it will tell you the correct distance you need to be for the required image
      www.projectorcentral.com/Yaber-K2s-projection-calculator-pro.htm
As for the AC3 key I'm not sure mate as I stream all my movies from Netflix, prime, Kodi, etc so I haven't ran into this issue..
You can download VLC or Kodi, or Plex to a Chrome cast or firestick when using the p64 or K1 and these players should play AC3 I would have thought..
The k2s has built in android dongle so you can download any of these straight to the Hako Dongle that's inside the K2s..
As for the sound of the fan the K2s is a lot quieter than the k1, because it has a quiet mode, but the quite mode reduces the brightness level so you lose performance when in this mode.
I'm not sure if the fans can be changed I haven't experimented with this yet, it might be something I look into at a later date.
The k2s has an amazing picture, but it does suffer from a lot of dust entering the projector, so I can't recommend the K2s over the K1, the K1 has far better build quality, and better dust resistance, plug any smart device into the k1 hdmi and in my opinion you still have a better projector.
You just lose NFC and a little rated brightness, and not much else.
I will have a new K2s video out in the next few days showing some of these dust issues, and the struggles I had to solve some of this dust issue.
I did solve it, but I don't recommend the modification.

I haven't tried this yet, but I think I am going to try this, because I'm thinking the signal is suffering because the dongle is built into the bottom of the projector, and with the underbelly of the projector resting on the floor I think the signal can't escape very well.
Had they built the dongle into the side of the projector the signal wouldn't have suffered so much.

@@gordonbrown-k2k Yep they seem to be working now, I haven't a clue why? As I've checked the software and there's hasn't been any update so it's very strange.
But the picture settings do now work, but not on the home screen, you have to be on a specific source for the presets to work and kick in.
The presets do not work on the home screen for some reason, only when watching a video source.
But it's great that they are now working 🙂👍

I received my k2s. I'm a little surprised...it's less bright than the P64! I checked that it was not in energy saving mode. The image is beautiful but dark, even when making the adjustments...I tested it during the day with the shutters closed and there was still a little light... But with the P64 everything was fine even during the day.. I also have this squeaking noise on the lens when it focuses... Otherwise the sound is impressive, and Android works well. But this lack of light worries me...

Thanks for letting me know, make sure the quiet mode is not turned on, this will reduce the brightness considerably.
Also the brightness level is in the wrong setting, it's in the projection settings.
So you can turn up the brightness level in there.
Let me know if that helps 🙂👍

@@tofclaire9466 Ok this seems strange to me it shouldn't be dark, maybe you could have a problem with the machine.
I know this is not what you want to here, as you have already sent multiple projectors back.
But the image shouldn't be dark, so clearly you have a problem there.
Maybe send it back and get a replacement, or contact Yaber themselves, hopefully they can help you more with this. 🙂👍

@@ReviewingHub Hello to you, finally after multiple tests, the problem seems to come from my screen (sheet stretched over a wooden frame) and the viewing distance, the k2s being 5m from the screen... I ordered a stand screen to see.
I tested it on a very white wall, but only 3m away, and it was already better...so I'll see tomorrow when I get the screen. That said, the p64 was still more pleasant.

@tofclaire9466 Oh ok that explains it .
Yeah you really do need a proper projector screen, shining on a sheet type screen, light shines through the sheet so you loose a lot of light.
Even shining on a plain white wall you still lose light, it's all about the bounce back of light when it comes to picture clarity, so the screen is a massive factor.
You need a proper screen to get the most out of your projector, ideally you want a 1.0 or a 1.1 screen ratio.
Were the light that comes out of your projector hits the screen, and the same light bounces back at you.
So no light is lost in the process.
      My screen is a 1.1
This is why sheets or walls are no good for projection.
You lose a lot of detail, sharpness, and picture performance without a real projector screen.
      What screen did you get?
My screen was only £56 pounds and it's been amazing.
Hopefully you will see a massive difference when it arrives 🙂👍
