This song is rare to say the least for the times we're in, yet there's no mention of what has become the norm. Just the simple truth of what's really important and where focus should be. No crowds, bars, bands, stages, or unnecessary subject matter. Glad to see someone can still put out a song with no glamour, just truth and honesty about family and values. We need more of this. I lost my daddy almost 8 years ago. Growing up he would take me with him in his 68 Chevy listening to country music. What I’d give to hug him once more. I miss him so badd. I love this song, although I cry.
My dad died an alcoholic in his early 50's. I was in my early 20s. My teen years were full of fights, beatings and abuse from my old man. But before that, he was a good man. Today I am 60, and often find myself wondering what it would have been like if things were different. Would I have turned out different? Could I have done more to help him? I can't change the past, but I made sure I was the best dad I could be to my son. He has turned out well, and our bond remains strong. Thanks Creed. So many of your songs hit me to the core

Damn I was listening to the Lacs, then this comes on and now I'm crying my fucking eyes out because I blew off my dad's birthday dinner yesterday so I could get more hours at work, and I feel like absolute garbage. Seeing my parents age is absolutely painful and when they're gone, I won't have anyone else. It took 32 years for me to realize I have the parents most never had, and it hurts knowing that as their only daughter, they're still having to help me and worry about me.
