We decided to include in our epic film music concert at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this amazing piece by Ramin Djawadi, taken from the soundtrack of Pacific Rim. This piece is a perfect example of how Rock music and film music can perfectly blend together in an amazing marriage.
This Pacific Rim cover has been performed as part of our Epic Film Music Concert, a show we decided to create and bring at the Fringe as an experiment, to see if people would have appreciated seeing film music performed on stage by a small group of players. The experiment went really well, and we've had amazing feedback.
The cover is played by us Intermundia, Luca playing the guitar and Edoardo playing an experimental form of drums, and Lucia La Rezza accompanying us on her magic violin.
We were not sure if this Pacific Rim cover would have suited and would have been appreciated, as it is not one of the most famous film themes. However, it resulted a success, as even if most of the audience did not know about it, they all enjoyed seeing this rocky, dynamic, groovy music piece performed with both traditional and modern instruments.
Apart from this Pacific Rim cover, during the concert we played covers of Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Inception, Gladiator and many other famous film themes. We will publish all of them, therefore if you want to see more stay tuned!
