Jerry West: The greatest architect in modern day sports.... From winning a gold medal in the 60's as an amateur then winning the nba championship in the 70's, to assemble the showtime lakers in the 80's, partnering kobe-shaq in the 90's and winning in the early 00's... and creating the current golden state warriors team, the future of the nba. That's why he is the logo.
Red Auerbach. He has a hand in all 17 titles of the Celtics, created the fast break, integrated basketball, and hired the first black head coach in any sport in NA
I grew up in Purcell, Ok. Home town of Lester Lame. He went to H.S. with my sister. He was every young boy's idol. There weren't many days that went by that we didn't hear something about Lester Lane. He visited P.H.S. after the olympics. We all got to touch his Gold Medal. We were awestruck. He was gracious in talking to us and giving us all encouragement.
I’m sorry to say this but I realized today that Mr. Jerry West has passed away. I’m very surprised about the news but I just wanna thank him for his contributions from the game of basketball from being a player, coach, and executive especially when he acquired Kobe Bryant. Rest In Peace Mr. West🙏🙏🙏
Jerry West mentioned in his book this would be last time they would all be together. Glad they all got their moment! RIP Lester Lane, Darrall Imhoff, Walt Bellamy, Bob Boozer, and Allen Kelley
Imagine what it must have been like to have played for another country and face off against Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, and the rest of that great USA basketball team! 👏🔥

Just think if an NBA Olympic team had played in 1960: C - Wilt Chamberlain C - Bill Russell F - Bob Pettit F - Dolph Schayes G - Bob Cousy G - Cliff Hsgan G - Oscar Robertson G - Jerry West F - Elgin Baylor F - Jack Twyman
At least they had one Olympic medal. To be fair, olympics medal is a huge achievement for them already when they still could proved they are one of the greatest basketball in the world even in their young age
Nonetheless, their greatness is unquestioned and each a terrific representative for the sport and nation as well. Definitely the right choices to accept the medal on stage.

THE REAL DREAM TEAM.
four NBA rookies of the year and Jerry West wasn't one of them. Oscar Robertson, Walt Bellamy, Terry Dischinger and Jerry Lucas.
The very first one before the 1984... That's for sure.
Imagine what it must have been like to have played for another country and face off against Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, and the rest of that great USA basketball team! 👏🔥
Eight NBA Allstars , John Havlicek and Lenny Wilkens were alternates, didn't make the team.
the logo of the game ! Really a hero of the game
What has we as a country learned from the 60s? Civility is the best way forward. Live and let live. In my humble opinion.

F - Elgin Baylor
F - Jack Twyman
Could anyone tell me why there was a Brazil flag over there? was that the year Bira was enshrined?
Oscar and Jerry each won only 1 NBA championship, very late in their careers.
Impossible to win in the Russell years
At least they had one Olympic medal. To be fair, olympics medal is a huge achievement for them already when they still could proved they are one of the greatest basketball in the world even in their young age
They were like Magic and Bird at their time
Nonetheless, their greatness is unquestioned and each a terrific representative for the sport and nation as well.
Definitely the right choices to accept the medal on stage.
And they won it a year from each other.
what does he say at 3:58-4:00?

Was Wilt Chamberlain in that team?
He wasn't in the league yet.
@@radentstwo9793 he was already in the league?
