SPOILER ALERT: She didn't even realise she had liked him until it was too late. Geoff had been apart of her life since they were kids, she never looked at him in anyway other than one of her brothers gross friends, and by the time she realized she had liked him, he had moved on, which was understandable from Geoff, why spend your life being miserable chasing after someone you can't get, when you can carry them in your heart and continue to live your life. That being said, I'm glad Erica took a chance on Geoff because like you said, he is a good guy.
The defining moment when you know the feelings are there for the both of them. All we need is another touching moment alone for them so they can finally both open their hearts to one another

But did Geoff sign up just to be close to her? Only watching on reruns and it seems that at this point Érica not only has feelings for him but she’s way past the point where he’s “stupid Geoff Schwartz”. Love this show. Wish I’d noticed it sooner
Love the show. It takes me back to simpler times where people weren't shooting up schools and being alone walking had no great concern to the parents. Thanks ABC and Adam Goldberg for this wonderful reminder of what it was to grow up in that time. Kurt.

Erica sinngs her part with such gentlenes when everyone else makes it an antemn seemingly to show off their voice. while Erica's vocal tells a love story. and with Jeff phrasing he bears his soul ir become an honest ode to love. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
This episode broke my heart especially this scene. I was almost in tears. This is such a good storyline! If was in high school, I would've gone out with Geoff. BTW, does anyone out there know when season 3 is gonna finally come out on DVD already???
DVD tends to have bonus features that are longer than what ABC releases on RUclips. I would love to have a DVD for season 3. My mom lost her battle with ovarian cancer on February 19th, and this show really gave me a lot of laughs during her two and a half year battle. True, the show was making me laugh before then, but whenever I needed a laugh, I would pop in a DVD and watch the show. I have Hulu and Netflix and have all of season 3 (and all current season 4) episodes digitally recorded from their original airings, and I still prefer the DVDs.
This is actually one of the best scenes in the entire series. Most of the 80s references just seem like they are shoehorned into the story to make the audiance go "ooh i recognize that". But this actually uses a song from an 80s movie in an organic way to have a genuine moment between one character conforting another. No narration from adult Adam over explaning things just a scene allowed to unfold naturally.
Made me watch the movie for the first time in like twenty years. Then to top it off I was taking the kids trick or treating and a little girl was dressed up like Audrey II. I about lost it lol

I'll give the writers credit that he could've been a one joke character with his crush on Erica , but glad he got fleshed out and gave him qualities that make him great, like being a good friend to both Erica and barry

None of the kids on the show has even a single black friend. Anyone ever notice that? The viewers are almost all-white too. Amazing how that just slips past everyone in 2017.
Which has nothing to do with the lack of BLACK kids in their lives. There was "Taz Money" but he didn't sho up until season 3 and was hardly a main friend like the others. Philadelphia is a racist city as it is and the suburbs are filled with people who "escaped" the city. The show is very reflective of the silent lack of diversity that causes few to bat an eye until one starts doing the math.
Just because they're all white don't make it racist. You don't know if it was done on purpose. Not everything needs to have a race of people in it just for the sake of having it.
@ITCJon There was the black girl he made out with in the play and she was real (not sure about the kiss). Jenkintown was somewhat diverse and the Philadelphia area definitely was but it wasn't like Manhattan where I grew up that's for sure, and I lived in Philadelphia when this show took place. Still waiting for the Members Only jacket.
