    It was my birthday, 9/19/2008, I was at the show AM/Travis just played earlier, a gift for my bday. I wanted a bday hug from Travis, anyways...I can't remember the exact time, but we were headed home when we saw this huge ball of fire. You could feel the earth shake, I swear... I remember we crossed over two embankments, medians trying to get close to whatever it was that was burning, realizing minutes later it was a plane. You could hear yelling/screaming. I hopped out the truck, stopping a passing motorist telling them to call for help. We finally got near the fence, watching it all play out. I didn't know until later it was the plane Travis and the others were in. I remember crying, choking on smoke, then the cops came to move us away because the roads had to be shut down. As years have passed, I've never forgotten that night, but my interest in music moved on, so did life. It wasn't until I read this book that I realized the deep, profound effect that trauma had on Travis. (the families of those deceased/DJ AM) And even though I didn't suffer as he/they did, I had nightmares about that crash for months after witnessing it. It's sad that Travis had to deal with so much bullshit when he was suffering like marital drama, but the hellish survivor guilt he suffered, I could relate from previous exp. Then to loose a friend to OD as they struggled, it's like Travis and I had some strange connection. The book brought me to tears, was well written, yet times during the reading I had to pause. It's great to know he's doing so much better, and I hope he continues to thrive. Great interview. xo

    I fux wit Blink but the Transplants was the band for me (what them 3 whiteboys put together is bad to the bone) and Travis Barker was allways the coolest cat amongst Blink, even though there material is soft as opposed to other punk rock groups to me thats their niche, thats their thing, some of the hardest punk songs are melodic as fuck, thats that reggae Ska influence, and when i first heard Transplants…game over…that first LP is one of my favourite records period….The guy is a allround genuine Legend, i could go on n on bout his accolades but unless i missed something ive jus gone through 45 mins of some serious breakfast time throwback american sit-com time, to find out what CAN I SAY means, n it didnt once get a mention… i knw its been his main tattoo on his chest for years … this i knw, and i know its the title of his book, or so i thought till now…fuk it,anyone know wtf is its meaning?

    • @marooqi
      @marooqi 4 года назад +1

      Can I Say is a dag nasty song or album from his childhood, I think I heard him say on another interview. His voice does it for me, and he is so passionate about raising his kids and what he does. and Ive always dismissed his band and him til today.
