- You might think dual monitors are reserved for only super-geeks, but not any more! I'm going to try and make the case that even you can benefit from an extra monitor. I also explain why it's way cheaper than you think to get dual monitors.

I love 2 monitors!
One for videos/music/guides for games. Other for the main stuff
21:9 144hz + 16:9 60hz=Perfection
I see.. now i am certein. I don't need a 2nd monitor thx :D
But it looks cool
Kenytnyt lol same I’ll just stick with having a laptop and one monitor
@YK 16 i did.. hahaha
@@Joanna-mq8vd It looks cool and ypu can manage multiple things. I have one 4k 60hz for entertainment and story based games and a WQHD 144hz one for competitive gaming
it's kinda spoiled
I've sold all my monitors to buy an NVIDIA GTX 1080 :(
so where u gonna see the output of that now?
+Imran Haque imagination
+Customer Service India Do you believe in magic?
hmmmmm
so you must have some big wide 4k monitors o get tht price!! :p
After using multiple monitors, whenever I started using one again, it got frustrating how annoying it was to manually minimize every window you don't want to see anymore with all your windows crammed into one spot where you can only see one at a time. Multi monitor is a must.
I'm watching this with 3 monitors
fack off
How? This is 16:9
+Nissan U. (SUBW00FER) In 3 different browsers :P
3 monitors is the way to go.
Yeah I I have 4 three on bottom then one one top
My dad has a triple monitor setup and he is not a gamer. He uses it for work because it makes dealing with multiple documents/ applications easier.
I have two monitors, i don't use the second one as just an information monitor, I use both monitors probably the same amount for different things at the same time. It's extremely convenient/useful.
is dual monitor your new sponsor, rich?

They are horrible.
It's not trolling, doxing and posting pictures of your relatives is straight up attacking him.

sure some of them are mean spirited, but for the most part its harmless fun, even Rich admitted that he's enjoying the memes that come out of his videos.
Marauder Shields of course, that why I commented this comment.
I just got myself a second monitor for my setup. Now I have two of the same model, but one is a refurb and doesn't look quite as good as my main one. But it was cheaper, and it works great.
It;s all very well saying that monitors can be cheap, but you may need a much bigger desk in order to use it, the price of that needs to be factored in also.
Larger desks are even cheaper than a 2nd monitor
bruh bruh with cheeped desk it’s a higher risk. In a middle of a gaming session a cheap desk could collapse.
You can always go for a vertical stack monitor system and not need a bigger desk, sure you might have to rig up a mount for it but that's not a big deal
@@bruhbruh1026 larger houses are not.
@@byleph9049 desks are designed to... not collapse. Thats their primary goal. I really wouldn't worry as long as it has 4 legs and a slab of wood
i just ordered a 2nd monitor the other day, cant wait to use it, i got identical ones though

I have a quick question, I want to run dual 1440p monitors, and hit 60 fps on every game, on atleast medium settings, will the GTX 1070 with a i7 6700k do that?
Bangtan Brandon each game varies a lot. What kind of games do u intend to play?
Bro since the you got 200k 😂
Bro I can do 1440p and 60 FPS and max setting on games with my GTX 1660
Depends on how many terashits per megafart you have
what the hell? speak in normal. i don’t understand nerd
I think you may need a second monitor to watch tutorials for software. So you can follow step by step of clicking different buttons and see what is being done in the video tutorials.
I bought a 1400p 60hz monitor for 8 dollars and it works so that is pretty cool.
wtf where and dont you mean 1440p?
lol
So I could have one monitor with a word document on (for example) and another on Microsoft edge so that I do not have to keep switching between apps to remember what to write?
I have two monitors myself. They are 22" with 1080p resolution. I have them so I can code and see output at the same time.
My laptop is tn panel . So should i get a ips monitor or will tn work perfectly for coding purposes. I have to watch in one and do code in other . Please reply
you should have endet it at "yes"
You really changed the way i thought about expense of buying it You are awesome Joe.
Who's joe?
@@gabrielrodriguez8810 Joe mama
Thank you Joe. You really convinced me to get a new monitor since my birthday is coming up soon. I'm really exciting and I now know what I can ask for since I also have the desk space.
It's been 2 years since. How have you enjoyed it in this time? I just got my 2nd monitor today and love it.
I have 2 monitors and I'm proud of it.
Me too xd
The big problem about dual or even triple monitor setups are that you really miss the extra monitors when you're for example on your laptop
Great information! Thank you! My job gave me an extra monitor and duplicator. I knew that I wanted one but didn't know why lol!
watching this on my second monitor while playing Roller Coaster Tycon lmao
I just added another montier to my pc today lol :) (june 24th 2019) so now im a duelie
Wow you did it in my birthday! Thanks 🙏
How to Get a 2nd Monitor for free tho?
go on craigslist, find 100+ offers in your area where people just give their old CRTs and if you are lucky 4:3 LCDs for free.
those CRTs have really become burdens lol u can do nothing with them
Imran Haque you can use them as secondary monitors man.
I just bought a refurb 22inch ips monitor for 60 bucks, find good deals on newegg and craigslist.
Just wanted to add in that you can go to your local thrift store and find a PC monitor for around $5. Toss in a VGA cable from walmart for 5-10$ and you're good.
Thanks! Never though about that.
Convinced me. Now I have 2 monitors (3rd coming soon) ;D
How can you even afford that? That’s crazy!
Ive had dual monitors for more than 5 years and im totally hooked. Now its a pain in the ass to use one monitor. When im going to help a friend with something on their computer i get so frustrated because i they only have one monitor.
I have a laptop and a second monitor. I use the second monitor as a primary monitor, because it's bigger, and I use my laptop as a second monitor. I had this setup before watching this video. A friend of mine, really liked my setup and wanted something similar. He didn't have a monitor that works, so he could not do the same thing, until he found a monitor somewhere outside while we were going somewhere. He took it when we left. It was a monitor with a broken screen, but the middle part of the screen works OK. He used that as his second monitor and he liked it.
I love dual monitor setups and I don't think I could go back. I tried to go back, but I couldn't do it.
Helps loads with schoolwork
Interesting video. Just wanted to make a quick comment. I will say that is my personal view, and you are entitled to your view. Anyway, I PASSIONATELY HATE multiple monitors. For me there is nothing more frustrating I can think of, especially when trying to concentrate on something. The times I was forced to use a multi-monitor system, I found it very difficult to remain focused on a single task. It seemed like I was constantly being bombarded with something on the other monitor. But, that might just be me.
I always knew having 2-3 monitors is great but never knew why this make sense tho thanks
Writing this on my Phillips 170C from my older pc. So far no problems. It might be 4:3 resoultion, but it's still a great monitor.
I have 4 monitors. one 20" for the Surveillance system, a 24" Vertical monitor to look at legal documents, a 32" 2K Monitor as the main screen and a 49" 4K TV that is hooked up to both a cable box and I use as a secondary monitor. I am running an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 Video card.
I had been using my laptop for 4 years, working, gaming, browsing etc. But that moment when I put the 20" TV on the corner of the desk was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I use my second monitor for OBS, youtube, google and my main monitor for games, editing, etc.
I use another monitor with my laptop.
Same
How
Me too. Unfortunately I spilled a bunch of beer on the laptop so the keyboard is busted and now it’s a thin desktop
UnrealOG isn’t it cheaper
I am here because I just bought a new monitor that is a rectangle and I can see everything I need. And now I thought of putting my old square monitor as my second one.
I am 13 years old and I love 2 monitors but my dad doesn't let me have it. I have a old monitor in my old house but my dad doesn't let me take it so I came to this vid to how to explain to my dad. TQSM for this vid
What type of prebuilt pc would you use for two monitors?
{gaming and streaming}
you don't even need to use monitors that are the same size you can have a large monitor that is your main one and you can also you use a smaller one like i do .
but you can't beat having a second monitor is comes in handy.
Nobody NEEDS a high capacity assault monitor.
#banmemes
Yea you can get a really cheap monitor and it would be totally worth it. Generally a second monitor is for more efficient tab management. Great for file explorer, friends lists, videos and music while you do your main stuff (browsing the web, gaming, work) on your good monitor.
You won't be staring at it, you won't need high fps and you won't need good picture quality. Just something you can work with. You won't even care if it looks a bit worse, or can't play games well, because you will never see that part.
Thanks man, you convinced me to get a second monitor!
i have a laptop
and an old monitor
my old pc is now sold and i only have the monitor so i thought it'd be a cool idea to have Dual computer monitors
let's just say i'm now in love with these monitors they are soooo useful
Here is another good Example:
On the first Monitor is the Game that the Programmer programs
and on the second Monitor is the Sourcecode/are the Assets.
Just make sure you're GPU or integrated graphics support the monitor connection cable.
that's very good, I will use one monitor for gaming full screen and the other for social media and web browsing
Perfect: One main monitor for Gaming IPS landscape and other in portrait for webpages.
I might set up two monitors... Currently using newer Dell 20 inch wide monitor, but also have an older gateway 19 inch monitor sitting around.
I have 3 monitors at work, 2 at home. I can never go back to one.
Thanks for the tips friend 😀. I am a beginner so I'm learning right now through your channel thank you
I used to disdain the idea of dual monitors. But now my tabs are stacking up and things are getting overwhelming. But you still haven't explained how it works.
Are both screens sharing the same thing? I thought it'd be one powerful brain of a computer that allows you to use your other monitor as an extra computer?? Or am I wrong?
I was planning to purchase one for gaming and a bigger one for movies. I can see a lot of usage for dual monitors now but not sure how it works or how you do it...
I've seen people use a laptop as another monitor, but still confusing
The second monitor is basically an extension to the desktop of the first one.
I need second monitor because i watch youtube while playgame, i know that im weird.
@Trap Pants youre weird
Trap Pants Skype to communicate? My dude, use Discord.
Trust me I play my PS2 and use my IPad and my parents would get mad at me! Heheh
I do it aswell
Mr Norway lol
it would be nice to have a video on how the software that connects a second monitor to your computer works.
for example:
am I going to be able to use different resolutions? if you buy a $30 monitor, that ain't going to go as high as your flagship monitor.
how am I going to physically connect the monitors?
do I need a gpu with multiple connectors?
do I need a spliter? do spliters exist for this kind of thing?
can I use the onboard video on my motherboard for the second monitor? etc, etc, etc :D
no worries about the software. everything just runs fine once you connect the monitors...
well il try answering your question in the text as simply as possible
Yes you can use differnet resolutions of monitors and the OS makes everything as per that screen so no hassles! but it just loooks odd if you have a clean 27inch monitor with a 14inch basic lcd :|.
you can physically connect with the cable required as per the pc and the monitor you get
your need will depend on the type of monitor you have. if you get old school lcds you get dvi or vga and if you go with recent mid range monitors you get hdmi and dva and vga. but usually the outputs availalble from the pc depends on the PC you have. Check around the back and get what you need depending on that.
Well, its mostly a yes if your on board output ports is limited to 1port. if you choose to get a monitor for productive purpose only you can get the basic GPU costing 25$(not for gaming atleast in 2016) and have multiple ports as provided in the description of the GPU vendor
spliters exist but they vary with the type of input and output... some are like hdmi(input) and 2 hdmi(outputs) at same resolution but using them is kinda odd and makes it unstable. never tried but have some idea on that
and yes, you can use onboard ports for this but mostly some old boards dont have

thanks for the awesome reply man!
I am working from home bc of COVID-19 and I'm considering using dual monitors so I can have my Zoom meetings open on a full screen and keep notes/documents open to work with on the other.
you have convince me men :D I gonna buy one of this for sure!
What will happen if we play split screen games on dual monitor setup 🤔🤔🤔🤔 ?
Supremely useful for artists using software like Photoshop and Sai. Two words, reference images.
Great vid! Will definitely be checking out another monitor. I was also wondering if you have any old or vintage computers or if you like that sort of thing.
I like to have "monitoring" apps on one screen and a game on the other to make sure my computer doesn't overheat or if I need to look stuff up.
People think that they need a 144hz monitor, no literally a 60hz-75hz monitor works perfectly fine. You barely even notice a difference
I have my laptop plugged into my TV and then an old monitor in potrait orientation to the side.
For playing games it makes a world of a difference and I can't ever go back.
Alex Rouse, does your laptop have multiple monitor (video output) ports?
lets be real, it just there to make your pc set up hell’a good😂
Workspace switching like in Linux or WIndows 10 is good as well
I'll stick with my ultrawide monitor for now. That works too.
Super crisp video quality btw.
I was about to sell mine for $150. Thanks for changing my mind!
I have 2,073,600 monitors. Each monitor acts like a pixel in a huge screen. It is awesome
How big is your house, so you have that big screen? How far are you sitting? :D
youtubak777 my house is one huge room. and i am sitting about 1km from the screen
A Banana :D
Nice! I didn't know how cheap monitors were! Now I'm gonna have 10 monitors!
one's you try it, it will become so addictive, you'll never go back to single monitor again ever
There is an app that you can install on your phone that enables you to use your android phone as a second monitor you can do it via wi fi but i connect my phone with tethring and the latency will be less.
Im building my first gaming pc right now and just a great black friday deal on an asus 144hz monitor and will be getting a cheap 60hz in a couple of weeks
I actually have two 70Hz monitors in front of each other, so I effectively have a 140Hz monitor.
Duel monitors just isn’t useful unless you’re doing something other than if you are doing something while gaming such as streaming etc... or if you are a content creator. Why would you need another monitor for your music. You can connect you’re phone with Spotify and just change the song from there, that’s literally it.
I bought my second monitor at a Goodwill for $7
Yep my main monitor is a Dell U2515H 1440p IPS and use my old 1920x1080 prebuild pc monitor from when i started PC
Thanks for explanation
you have really explanied it well in a simple and a understandable manner
Also older monitors aren't that bad. I can set them to resolutions beyond its specs and generally they have higher refresh rates.
i think having multiple monitors is stupid for gaming cause i dont see the reason to use more than one but for other stuff like he mentioned i think thats the best
Thank you, I needed that.. I bought one thinking wow it looks neat. I wanna do that to, but then thought I’m not a gamer what the heck do I need it for? You helped answer that question, I do a lot of what you said and didn’t even think about having the extra monitor for those purposes... Very helpful, thx u 🤗
Question for you, or an idea for a new video. My wife wants to put a tablet or device in the kitchen to hold recipes, music, ability to form a shopping list etc. She would like to be able to have a library on it, and also to access the web for other recipes. Which device, Ipad, Nexus, apps???? Thanks
K27fan iPad would be perfect
You don't even need a monitor to have a second display. You could use your iPad as a Second monitor and it works fine
Its especially better to have dual monitors when doing web/app desing and such. Or just buy a wide screen and monitor and use that split screen option to split the windows, but i don`t like that.
I put all my hardware monitoring software on the 2nd monitor while playing games or drawing some stuff so i don't have to alt tap every time i wanna check the temperatures.
or watch RUclips videos.
Wait do I need two motherboards or how does that work?
no no no no, just a graphics card, and well you dont need two mother boards, im kind of late but hope this helps you out
With the graphics card it will just look better, not necessarily needed
Should i buy an monitor or phone for Christmas the one right now is iphone 5 and its working perfectly
It mostly so I can run consoles on one and have my pc on the other or have my work laptop plugged into one and my computer plugged into the other, or having both plugged into my work laptop, or both into my pc.
Would love a video on how you setup your shots and edit them in post. Thanks, big fan! ;)
normally i game on my pc but yesterday i was gaming on my laptop without second monitor and i hated it it was so frustrating that i couldn't have my music on the second monitor and my skype.
i'll be lost with only one monitor...i was happy with one..until i got 2..the difference is amazing
Me here with triple 1080p monitors planning on upgrading to triple 4K, lol
i use my tv as a second monitor well a small tv that i dont use anymore
Im using both of my dad old monitors and it works great
Its dumb, sorry if i offend people who has dual/three monitor but dont you find that *bezels* annoying? Well then you got a choice pick *Ultrawide monitor* instead (:
I have two monitors and usually i only use one
the stuffs are just not worth it
I am watching this on an iPhone 4.
I have an old CRT monitor I didn't know what to with. Thanks
I took my old monitor and now have 2 but now I need to learn how to have 2 different things going on with it, Female 81 ,
