- This is my entry for SoYouThinkYouCanVid's Semi-Finals Senior Emotional Contrast Challenge.
Group A: Love, Fear, Regret.
I cannot fucking believe I completed this. Seriously. I told everyone on DHB I was gonna drop out of this over a week ago, but I never did send in my resignation. I had the smallest glimmer of hope that I'd be able to finish this in time, and booyah! I DID. And I wasn't even aware that the deadline had been extended! :D I legit did 2 minutes of this video TODAY in 4 hours. That's how much I wanted to complete this and be able to say: "At least I got this done when there was virtually no hope." I am so proud. Not really of the video, but of the fact I finished. I truthfully dislike this because I had no inspiration and ended up hating it during the process. I'm so burnt out with vidding I've just begun to hate it because I keep PUSHING and FORCING it instead of letting it come naturally like before. But I got this done, so it's a testamate to how much I WANT to be vidding.

It's the middle of 2020 and this is still absolutely true
Supernatural can have some not amazing episodes if you understand but my god, they steal my attention and emotions when they get emotional themselves.

Honestly, with S11:E4 went, it brought me back to Sam and Dean just being brothers and hunting things. It showed that underneath it all they still just love each other, and they miss their old life. And so it brought me back to this. As old as it is, It's still brilliant, and shows that no matter who, what, or where, Sam and Dean will always look out for each other ❤.

This is one of the most beautiful, sad, touching, emotional Supernatural video I've ever seen. You really managed to portrait the essence of the show perfectly. The voice-overs, the colour correction, the song choice, the clip choice - everything was perfect: You really pulled on my heartstrings.
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. It was brilliant and I'll definitely gonna watch it over and over again.
Family first, last and always appears to be Dean and Sam's motto and do we all ever love them for it. I'm fairly recent convert to Supernatural (year and a half) but wow...WOW! This vid is the essence of Sam and Dean distilled into a powerful statement of the true strength of family bonds.
The first time I saw this video I sat and cried for ten minutes. I come back and watch this episode every so often. It's such a great video, and summarizes their story so well.

I don't who would dislike this vid but my god... my brother is looking at me worriedly with me literally crying at just how freaking beautifully perfectly put together this vid was... the voiceovers... the simple yet perfect transitioning editing with the song is just WOW seriously just wow!
This fanvideo has probably made me cry the hardest out of all the ones I've seen. And I'm not talking Tumblr "omg im crying" but like actual ugly sobbing, neck cramping wailing. It's just the way you put the video together, especially Swan Song ugh.
PART 2: And the MUSIC that you chose. EVERY SINGLE LINE OF THESE LYRICS FIT THIS FAMILY SO WELL AND OUT OF ALL THE SCENES OF THE ENTIRE SERIES, I DON'T THINK YOU COULD HAVE CHOSEN BETTER ONES TO GO WITH THIS SONG. I love that this version is so slow and beautiful -- it doesn't feel rushed at all. I love the pace you set up and the way the scenes just FLOWED so naturally with one another. PARALLELS!! YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I ADORE PARALLELS!! And you gave me so many my head is spinning! THIS FAMILY

PART 3: This stupidly messed up, so in-love family. I can't even. I love that you focused on THEM and the voiceovers at the end added SO much to their epic journey together. From the very beginning -- this family was destined for heartbreak and ruin but their saving grace is how much they love each other and how they will always, always choose each other over everything. Over angels and demons and the friggin apocalypse and you illustrated that SO clearly in this video. I CAN'T DEAL WITH YOU

I'm coming right off of watching "In My Time of Dying"/2x01, so this was the perfect coda to my feelings. OH, my heart is breaking from watching this. Your editing (& cropping effect) was so innovative and your scene & voiceover selections were so so apt for the video. If nothing else, I think that would've sent me over the edge in and of itself, but there was also a beautiful cover of a beautiful song and knowing the tragic history of the Winchesters. In short, this vid was amazing. Great work!

Ohmygod. So a lot of times I will comment that I'm crying in exaggeration to try and explain how much I love a video, but now I am legitimately sobbing over this. The first 30 seconds or so and it was over, so many tears. I absolutely love how you worked with the entire Winchester family, and focused on the Sam-John and Dean-Mary relationship. No one ever does that, and I think that's just partly why I lost it. And then the rest with the Sam and Dean focus...I just can't. So beautiful. ;___;
