I remember seeing Courtney live for the first time back in '12-'13 when she first joined iwabo and Mike a couple years after that and was blown away. Now they're still killing the game in Spiritbox, can't wait to catch them live at some point if they ever make it out to the Midwest. They sound soo tight live, wish nothing but success and fortune to these talented people. \m/
Her screams are more traditional ala Max Cavalera from the throat and belly. Tatiana from jinjer and singer from lamb of God use the fry technique which won't hurt you as much.

Everything that vibrates and thus generates any kind of distortion or harmonic vibrations, are in our throats - vocal cords, arytenoid/cuneiform cartilages, false cords, and even epiglottis (which is only used for some of the low growls). These all are in our throats. Our bellies are only creating the airflow squeezing the lungs with abdominal and rib muscles (and funny things that diaphragm is not even doing that, it only works when we inhale not exhale)
They went from touring small venues as a support group into a pandamic and then straight to the big stage. What a crazy development! Hope they enjoyed it! Cant wait till they start headlining festivals

That's very easy to say as a listener, but think about the amount of energy they have to put in to sound this great live. I'd rather they use that energy to keep their sound rather than flail about just to "look cool" and possibly sacrifice the quality of their music. Whatever they feel comfortable doing on stage is fine with me when they continue to sound this good.

I loved her in IWABO she put out 2 great albums but then getting into her own style you can clearly see how she’s grown. Simply amazing tunes.
