Your alternative method using tape to mark hole positions symmetrically and then securing them with rivets is indeed a practical approach that ensures precision and alignment. Each craftsman may have their preferred techniques based on experience and convenience."

"Very cool! The addition of the sealed material between the style and the buffalo horn handle not only increases the durability but also makes the knife handle more sturdy and beautiful. Buffalo horn is a very durable and aesthetically pleasing material, so combined with the sealed material, it will create a great product. Thank you.
"Thanks for sharing your detailed perspective! You make an excellent point about the overlay placement and the challenges it brings. It’s true that adapting the shape for ergonomic differences, like finger length, could improve comfort and practicality. The time factor you mentioned is also something worth reconsidering-perhaps there's a more efficient approach to achieve the same result? Your insight definitely adds value to the conversation, and I appreciate the constructive critique! 😊"

You should always use a segmented blade to cut horn, but not antlers. Ive worked with enough of it to know that its also best to soak it for a day or 2 before working it. Its a hair is all a horn is. Ask a scientist and they will tell you its a modified hair and so is nails.
Great advice, thanks for sharing your expertise! Soaking the horn beforehand makes a lot of sense to make it easier to work with. And the fact that horn is essentially modified hair-fascinating stuff! Nature’s designs never cease to amaze. Appreciate the tip about segmented blades too!
nice work.. but I would have thought you'd retain the looks of the horn a bit.. it turned out to be all black and perhaps not very clear that it was a horn?
Thank you for your feedback! I understand your point-retaining the natural look of the horn could definitely add more character. I'll keep that in mind for future projects. Your input is much appreciated!
Yes I agree, the finished product was very beautiful, but I likewise would have thought you would've kept some characteristics of the horn especially for the gripping standpoint ,the natural horn feel probably would have added more gripping feel and power so it wouldn't slip out of your hand
You heat and press about 400 degree F to 450 to make two flat flanks then shape it , I guess it make mutch ezeey . use the bigger end of the horn is better for this work
"Thanks for sharing! As you said, hot pressing and pressing the horn at 400 to 450 degrees F will help create curved edges and easy to shape. Using the horn tip is really a great choice when making knife handles, as it provides a stronger material and is easier to work with. Looking forward to your continued follow up and packaging.

Honestly you couldn’t have used the wrongest tool ever to cut the horn! A hack saw wouls have done a way better job without burning the horn… why you have left the tip of the horn which is on the way of the blade?
Thanks for sharing your opinion! 😊 It is true that each tool has its own advantages and disadvantages when working with horns. I chose this method to suit the process and available tools, but would definitely consider using a hacksaw to avoid danger
