    Im a female rider (5'2) and I have a 500r only because of the same seat height as the 250 but more engine. It's my first bike and I love it. I think this is one of the cutest videos I've seen so far of a female riding. Hopefully by now shes alot better from 3 years ago :)

    It's the pure green that they don't have this year. They now have what they call "special edition" green, which is sort of green on top and bottom with silver and black across the sides. They do still have red, blue, and black though, of course. I've already put down my deposit for one of these, gonna pick it up on Saturday. Can't wait!!!

    Yay we're about the same height and I'm getting the 2010 Ninja 250R. I've been riding since I was 11. Can't wait!

    i freakin love this bike so far dude... totally safe beginner bike.. the thing sure is zippy for a 250cc and if your small like me youll have no problem dusting cars at red lights and passing on the interstate like everyone says.. it is a high rpm bike tho SO MAKE IT SCREAM!!!

    Just bought a 2012 ninja 250r .. its an awesome bike... Its a big bike for a 250 mate.. looks sexy and everyone thinks its a powerhouse because it looks like the bigger bikes like zx6r after the 2009 redesign. This bike is quick, nimble and cornering will beat any bigger bike

    @CaCestChill she is probably about 5". you can purchase lowering links for $200; which bring the bike down about 2 inches. plus they dont mess with the suspension characteristics.

    I am in India and i have a Hero Honda Karizma R 223 , the bike is good value for money but the only thing that i miss the most is absence of rear disk brake , its stock drum is good but no match for ur ninja's rear disk...
    Congrats Dude.

    I just got a '10 blue ninja last week. I'm about to take my MSF course this week then taking mine out. If you don't have a big head you really should start on a smaller bike like one of these.

    Good video, Kawi really broke thru with the redesign of the 250 bodywork. Great to see you get your girl into riding, I'm sure she can take care of herself but having been down before due to a cager rearending me I'd suggestion some good riding gear. See you guys on the road

    If want fast without getting a massive bike, the Ninja 650 has a ton of power for a midsize. I'm 6'1 160 and it fits perfectly. Its a torquey bike, its fun as hell to ride. Its pretty comfortable. I have the 06 model, probably going to upgrade over the summer, but I'm sure the 09 is just as or even more comfortable then my model.

  • @Andrew03690
    @Andrew03690 14 лет назад

    @blunk409 I just bought one, and I love it so far. I haven't taken any long rides on it yet, so I can't tell you if it would get uncomfortable after a while, but it's great for short rides. It's a peppy little thing too!

  • @bigmanrofl2
    @bigmanrofl2 13 лет назад

    Yes you need to use the clutch tobswitch gears. It's possible to not use the clutch but it would damage the transmission.

  • @osimnod
    @osimnod 15 лет назад

    Thanks for the clarification. I'll bet if you did a follow-up video and posted it, she would demonstrate a significant improvement in her confidence and skills. That would actually be a good "Before-After" testament for the MSF program. Please consider doing that.
    On a different note, I wonder how the egg is tasting on 360's face? LOL

  • @Nesmaniac
    @Nesmaniac 14 лет назад

    @LiLMissDoWhatiWant You will love the ninja 250. Mine was my first bike and it is very forgiving. I got the black one and love the looks of it. I wanted red to start with but had to take what I could get and have come to love the black. I would recommend red or green over the black though for the simple reason of it being more visible. Not only do you buy a black bike you buy black jacket and helmet which is hard to see. I put chrome ninja stickers on my helmet to make it more visible.

    Thanks for sharing. Nice red color on the 250. I recommend getting a jacket, ankle-covered boots for the rider and a couple of frame sliders for those nice new plastics. (They will more than pay for themselves in case you laid the bike down) :-)

  • @cheezgrated
    @cheezgrated 12 лет назад

    I ride both scooters and motorcycles, and I can tell you the Ninja is not kinda like a moped. It's a terrific beginner bike, but if you're terrified (or very smart), you should take the MSF course first.

    Hahaha, it's like watching parents teach their child how to ride a bicycle without training wheels.

    @livingdeadonline It's body armor for riding a motorcycle. Don't know the exact one but it's similar to the Icon Field Armor vest. Go to the motorcycle superstore and you can see a ton of different vests like that.

    Every 250cc bike has it's own pros and cons. Some cons on some 250cc bikes will compliment the rider's skills, while on the other hand some pros will negatively affect the riders capabilities (ie. extremely tall riders on the ninja just doesn't work as it's not a full framed bike). None the less, the Ninja is a good quality bike for beginners. I opted to go for a Hyosung gt250r simply because i wanted to learn first hand on a full size bike

  • @cheezgrated
    @cheezgrated 12 лет назад

    It sounds like you're either letting out the clutch too abruptly, or not using enough revs. I don't look at my tach when taking off, so I can't tell you how many revs you should use. You can use your ear though. Keep the throttle on but constant, and smoothly let the clutch out.
    Make sure you're in first gear too. Starting out from second can be a bear.

  • @KDV87

    @OmegaxGoDx thats the smartest way to go, i started out on a 250 to, everyone should to get used to handling and balance.i do recommend going for a 2010, cuz the differences between 2011 and 2010 models are minimal, 2010 has all the goodies, plus it could be up to 2000 cheaper, which you could use to get expensive riding gear so you mat

    Well I am going for the 250 because a 500 is like to start with a Ferrari as your first car. When you get used to the 250 you can just sell it. It holds its value very good because there are waiting lists on the new one. After that, you can just buy a 500, but it is smart to stay with the 250 until you can lean in the coners broberly.

    Did you guys (lazychynksta) even consider having her take an MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) rider course? If you had, she would have been much more comfortable with that rig - which is perfect for her, or nearly so. Hope she is still riding, safely, and you're enjoying the sport together.

  • @guitar6411
    @guitar6411 16 лет назад

    first vehicle? No. First Bike? Yes. You need to get a feel for how sensitive motorcycle clutches are before you get on top of a 1000. Just a tip. It also really depends on your budget and how comfortable you get with your cycle. I recommend taking a riders course before beginning. Go to your local community college for more info. Good Luck!

    you did awsome!! I million times WAY better than me! I can only go a few yards (with my feet/tippy toes STILL down) then I chicken out and stop the bike. I didn't know that my palms could sweat like this. My friend talked me into taking his souped up ninja 1400 widow maker for a ride around the block just to get the feel (insert max terror in this sentence) of two wheel fun. I'm going out this week and shop for a 2009 ninja 250

  • @BattleRifle112
    @BattleRifle112 13 лет назад

    @mudgutts123 It's cheap for beginners. Quite obviously not as powerful as a lot of other sports bikes, but I think the Ninja 250r gives beginners the option to get a sporty looking bike without the high probability of wrecking a more expensive, more powerful bike. Chances are you will drop your first bike (not saying everyone does, but a lot of people do), so it's better to drop an inexpensive bike where the resale won't plummet.

    The most likely reason for a bike to fall over and get lots of parking lot scratches is because of people standing off to the side of the bike and pushing it... You ALWAYS want to be sitting on the bike while moving it, so your legs are in power of the movement... After all, your legs are alot more powerful then your arms.

    @47flamenco was awesome. i rode dirt bikes for two years, and day one I learned stuff I never knew. I learned the most important thing I think, and that was clutch control. I never really learned how to control the clutch since I rode on dirtbikes, but motorcycle clutches are setup differently. I definitely feel the difference. I've put 3,000 miles on my bike since I got it in September. Georgia mountains fucking rule.

    Well, I am speaking for myself, but it was not hard to learn. It will however, require your undivided attention. If you're not focused or don't understand a concept you can be prone to mistakes. The best thing is to take the MSF course. Once they teach you everything, and I mean everything you could ever want to know, take your 250 or whatever you have around the neighborhood. Be patient and don't get over confident. Then find a nice, quiet parking lot and practice everything you learned.

    Is there a difference between the candy plasma blue (2008) and the candy thunder blue (2009), or did they just change the name to confuse people?
