I really enjoyed the Willette Rye and thought your review was spot on. Hard to track one down these days so I haven't sipped from my one lonely bottle in a while... may have to go back and revisit after watching! Cheers
Thanks for the honest review. After reading a few comments I think I'm in the minority but Willett 4 year is right at the top of my buyers remorse list. I've never tasted potpourri but I imagine this is what it would taste like. Definitely try before you buy on this one.
Great review. I prefer the 4 year so much more than the 3 year rye. If you get a chance to try any of the Willett bourbon don't pass it up. Most are fantastic.
I have one. It tastes like eating an italian sub sandwich or something. So much dill and herbal/spicy elements, combined with that thick mouthfeel, it is intense. I don't drink it very often but it really stands out as... something. It's definitely not bad. Just a really intense flavor profile.
I've had a couple of these now and they have been quite different. My last one had a fair amount of pepper/cinnamon spice but the one I just opened is very minty. They always have a nice oily mouthfeel, something I really like. Just ordered 2 more, that's how much I like it.
I love the spearmint and bubble gum notes on it. Not sure if you’ve noticed the bubblegum note, some people say they haven’t got it but I always do with this Bottle.
Funny you mention they did not source the Bourbon from MGP, they did source Rye from MGP though. I am looking at a 4 year Willett single barrel Rye from 2014 right now. Wish their own Rye was available in Ontario.
Good point Peter. Stinks that its hard to get good juice up in Canada. Good point abt MGP... the Heaven Hill comment was referring to the mass majority of what was sourced... however great point.. always exceptions here and there. Much appreciated sir.. btw what’s in your glass tonight?
Was lucky to come across this Willet today, had to purchase 2 bottles! Great review, stay safe, stay healthy, drink Willet! 🥃
Congrats Ben.... hope you enjoyed the Willett....
Sipping on this one tonight with my cigar. My introduction to Willett, and I like it
Enjoy
Cheers bro!

Love your Chanel! And that’s my favorite Rye of all time!
Appreciate you bigash217
My favorite rye. Bubbles gum and spearmint on the palate, absolutely delicious.

2TEN90 Brewing : whats going in guys? Ahh yes indeed, good quality Rye... but definitely hard to find.
@@BourbonJudge Keep up the great work my friend... we're really enjoying your reviews!
You nailed this review! Drinks more like a bourbon for me but I do really enjoy it! I would purchase another bottle if I can find it again
Thanks Paul.... same here I like it.. was a bit skeptical because im not a major Willett fan. However this was actually good.
Please try the Old Forester Rye, it is very boubon-ish. The Willett is okay but not rye-ish enough, IMO.
kirby culp : I will definitely add this one to the list. Thanks Kirby
Just picked this up. Can’t wait to try it
Cheers - hope you enjoy it!
Picked a bottle this morning! Time to give it a try!

I tried it, yesterday, and I really liked it.

Yeah very earthy and herbal.

@@BourbonJudge Actually Sagamore double cask Rye, opens up nice in a couple weeks
peter white ; ahh good to know. Thanks for the heads up.
I think hevean Hill as well. If Noah's Mill can be a blend of 4 to15 plus years.. makes you wonder.. what else they hiding up in there.
Russ Phillips : so true, so true...
To me, that is a quintessential rye (though we all have different journeys leading up to any individual tasting).
So what is YOUR quintessential rye?
I hear y as Mike H. Two. First.. Hill Rock double rye cask strength, and Michter’s toasted rye CS
@@BourbonJudge I hear ya man. I have yet to try the Michter's barrel strength rye, of which I have high hopes, but I'm a-tryin'...
Sorry homes …. Rye is not Bourbon !
