Hello everyone it's Tyler. I wanted to answer some questions and touch on some issues you might have with this process. 1. Issue- Your iPad does not show up in iTunes Solution- Try a different cord or port on the computer. iTunes is picky about which cord is being used and it can also make the iPad fail the restore process. Make sure to try a different port until the device shows on the PC. 2. Issue- iTunes needs to be the newest version to restore. Solution- With iTunes open, click the "Help" tab in the top left corner and select "Check for Update". If there is an update, follow the instructions and update it really quick. 3. Issue- ITunes states it can't restore because the device has a passcode Solution- This means you did not put the iPad in recovery mode. In the video, if the iPas has a home button, you shut it down all the way. With the iPad off, hold the home button down and plug the cord in and continue to hold until it says "iTunes restore". If the iPad does not have a home button, with the iPad on press the volume up then let go. Press the volume down and let go, then hokd the sleep/lock button on the side and the iPad should pop up a message saying "Slide to power off". IGNORE THIS. Keep holding the lock/sleep button and the iPad will shut off and turn back on and say "iTunes restore". Proceed with the reset process after that. I hope this helps!

Thank you, this video was so much more helpful than the other videos where they just yap and don't show how to ACTUALLY restore the ipad. It worked for me, except it took a bit longer.
Everything was going smoothly until the end, after the iPad is on the restarting apple screen with the loading bar, once the loading bar is complete it goes right back to the original plug in and restore screen :(

my ipad dosent go into recovery mode, its running ios 16 and is an ipad 8th generation. everytime i try to put it in recovery mode, it flickers the connect to itunes logo once and then reboots normally into th "ipad unavailable" homescreen.

When I try to restore it tells me the iPad needs to be updated to the latest software version. So I click update and it then tells me that I need to have the latest version of iTunes. Ok, so I click help then check for updates in iTunes and it tells me I already have the latest??? Show’s current iTunes software 12.10.11
@@lean6968I'd tried via finder. It started the restore process and then said cannot find ipad and closed. I paid someone with iTunes to help me in the end.
I cant get the pc logo at the beginning of reset. Only the itunes with powercord logo. I also cant enter recovery mode unless i do it from the ipad being ON. If i try from OFF it flashes apple logo a couple times and blacks out. Pc sees ipad but itunes does not.

you have to do the restoring process again, it happened to me but the second time i tried to restore it, it worked

After the restoration process it still asks for the email/passcode
This method does not remove Activation Lock. It will remove the pin code from the device but you must know your iCloud info to get around the lock.

Try a different Cable. If not, yes another computer might be a good start.
