I saw a comment talking about how stiff Luke was and how he didn't seem excited. Imagine someone you look up to and watch on TV everyday showing up at your house and giving you a ton of stuff that costs quite a bit of money. Luke is a really humble person who has worked for everything he has and is not used to people giving. This was an absolutely beautiful video and I already know this is going to turn Luke into that fun grandpa that builds toys for his grandkids (when the time comes.) excellent video John.
Mr beast said this is how everyone reacts to anything shocking in the real world. Surprised people typically are quiet outside and bursting with joy inside
John: "Do you know why I'm here?" Stranger he just met: "No" John: "Maybe you should go get your wife" Not how I woulda done it, but I'm also not 6' 2" and an absolute chad.
"Touch your stuff!!" That needs to go on a T-shirt 😂😂😂 Nicely done sir, nothing makes me happier than seeing people help other people. It happens too rarely with all we have. When the goal is to allow the rising tide to lift all ships, amazing things are created ❤❤❤
Yeah this is better than the RUclips videos where some creators destroy expensive items. This act will affect this individual for the rest of their life.
Luke was 110% appreciative and shocked. What a solid guy that was deserving of this. Props to you John for making this happen. One of the best videos yet
And this is why I watch you. You're a loveable goober who makes youtube videos for woodworking and comedic value which entertain a lot of people but deep down, you're a great person with a big heart that likes to give back. And Luke was totally deserving. A completely humble guy that was just shellshocked the whole time which is completely understandable. Hybrid workshops where you have to store household stuff too are always a problem, you did a good job for him. Like others have said, I'd like to see a follow up in 6 months or a year to see how he's travelling with the new setup.
John ! You are now my new HERO !! I think it’s an excellent gesture to give this Man His Workshop Dream !! You’re a GOOD MAN JOHN MALECKI !! Most people are all talk !! You my Friend put Action to your words!! I’ll be watching your cast with new eyes !!!!
This video made me cry tears of joy! My dad died Sunday. Him and my grandpa got me into woodworking from a young age. Made it tough to fit in with the girls club. Time spent with them instead was well worth it. Amazing seeing yall do this for that dad! ❤
This was really nice of you to do for this guy. He seems like a regular hard working dude and family man. And those don’t the credit they deserve in this day and age. Well done.
Thats pure gold John...I mean, that's life changing stuff right there, you got a special spot in heaven for this deed.. super happy for this guy, it's how dreams come true...
For a lot of us who can't afford a lot or who are givers, this is a big deal. It's so hard to be given things and not work for them yourself. I'm sure Luke had a hard time accepting all that you did for him and his family, but thank you for doing it! Wonderful and selfless people do exist. Merry Christmas!
John’s doppelgänger?? Great video!! Good for him. A well deserved victory for any dad that needs help upgrading to build stuff for their kids and friends
This is so nice to see just a hard-working dad who wants a place to build in. John made this into his dream shop. This is truly heartwarming. I’m so happy for this guy.
Best video of yours, John! I’m so proud to know you! Luke is a great guy and he has been so supportive of the online maker community. He is so deserving. Good job guys!
Wow, That's awesome! Congratulations Luke! I don't know him personally, but from the sounds of it, it seems the dream shop couldn't have gone to a better guy! Luke definitely deserves it for all that he sacrifices for his family and community. Bravo John and Luke!
I honestly couldn’t imagine a better person for such a gift. This dude really seems like a positive influence to everyone who knows him.. I have a new level of respect for you and your crew John, you guys are awesome man.
John Malecki.. This is absolutely awesome!! You just made Luke a very happy man. Congratulations Luke! Now build something cool brother. New subscriber here (just getting this channel going) and on my other channel "Renegade's Garage".
That's amazing for his wife to enter him into this giveaway. John and the whole crew left Luke speechless. Awesome job to everyone and for the companies that supplied the products and also to Home Depot for allowing you to get that toolbox into the back of that U-Haul truck. Congratulations Luke
Love the true reactions. You can tell he's not acting. Not screaming, jumping or doing weird stuff. Just real emotions (he really looks like John's little brother)
So screaming and jumping aren't real emotions in your mind and is all acting? All weird stuff. But putting your hands in your pocket and giving a non-reaction is the true emotions lol. You people have it backwards..
@@meilyn22everyone is different. He seems reserved like me, so I can totally see hands in pockets and smiling when on the inside you’re screaming with joy.
@@Redwire68 I never said the dude wasn't appreciative or anything like that. In fact, I said what you said in another comment. My issue was with this dude condemning how other people show emotions. Jumping and Screaming are signs of happiness, emotions, sadness etc. Don't condemn one to praise another.

feels great doing something for someone who needs/deserves it. I worked on cars for 50 years and donated what was insured for $180K of tools and equipment to the local tech school where I was a substitute teacher now and then when I retired. My grandfather taught me a lot about woodworking when I was a kid and I did that as a hobby through life. having a nice shop is a godsend. good on you . .
I’m not usually one to leave comments, but you guys knocked it out of the park with this one. Luke seems like such an incredibly humble and gracious person. The fact that he didn’t even try to spend every last dollar of the budget you gave him shows that. I’ll be looking at his channel now to see what he’s making with the new shop and would love to see a follow up video.
This was such a cool thank you to a random viewer who clearly deserves a standing ovation for all the work he does in his community. Thanks John and crew, it was a great time for video like this.
We need more of this in the world! John and the crew certainly picked the right people for the dream workshop. Absolutely fantastic video and that is some lifechanging stuff for Luke.
I Have so much respect for you and your team. To do what you have just done is such an unbelievable thing to do. Luke was just a stunned mullet (great Aussie saying look it up) the whole time he was on camera, so good to see a genuine reaction. Well done John and team.
Clue #1 this was truly a surprise...Luke's garage looked exactly like every other family man's garage across the country...a little messy, a collection point of many things, full of storage crates on the walls and kids scooters everywhere!
What a great video. Good on you for blessing Luke and his family so much. I am an auto body guy at a large corporate body shop that brought in these Festool vacuum sanding systems about 4 years ago. I love that thing. Anybody on the fence about it, just take the leap already. Keeps the work area and your lungs clean.
That's awesome. Here i am just wishing i had a planer/jointer so i can actually get things done quick enough to make money after being disabled the last 5 years and having to move my grandmother in here after her dementia got too bad. Taking care of her is such a full time job i cant spend forever hand planing. Congratulations
John and team, I have enjoyed your videos ever since I found your channel. But now I have a new respect for all of you for what you did for this gentleman. I hope you all have continued success in your futures.

That look of "I don't know if imma cry and jump with joy or pass out" always gets to me. Congratulations, Luke! I hope your new shop will give to you as much as you give to your community!
Simply awesome thing you did for Luke! I watch a lot of wood working RUclips videos and this tops them all. What an unselfish act of kindness towards a fellow wood worker. Bravo!
I usually never like or comment on any video, but this was truly heartwarming and kind. Definitely chose the right guy to win this. Lovely what you upgraded him to aswell. Much respect to all of you.
Awesome job John. I think this is so much more meaningful with you guys coming out there and doing this in person instead of just giving away a couple of free tools and sending it to them. Well done sir you are a good man!
John, what a good and decent Luke is! He loves his family and has such a joy about him. I have been putting my shop together for about ten years so I can tell you that what you did for him is a wonderful game changer and he seems totally deserving. Semper fi brother.
Incredible. I barely ever like/dislike YT videos and never comment. But I had to leave a comment on this. Heartwarming and emotional at times. Such an incredible gesture . John, you are such a great woodworker and good all-round guy. If you're ever in the UK, I've got a single-car garage that could do with similar treatment, it'll be half the price!!
If I wasn't already subscribed, this video would have earned it. So wholesome. Luke looks like a great and selfless guy. It was neat that almost all of his projects were gifts for other people. Really like how you and your team catered to his space and projects and didn't just blanket him with generic sponsored stuff. Making sure to keep heirloom tools and cabinets was also a nice touch.
I’m a disabled firefighter who loves giving back to the community and helping others. Being on a budget I’ve struggled with buying equipment for my shop needed for wanting to start up a RUclips channel to help support myself and give back to others. I buy most my stuff from other on marketplace or other sites. Some things I buy new as I can. I have some old machines that gets me by until I can eventually replace them. With that said they probably are safety issues. My goal is to replace my bandsaw, buy a benchtop 12” jointer, and upgrade my planer with a helical head to speed up my milling process. I’m sure that someday I will get there. I know many beginner woodworkers start out like this. I’m sure many struggle to meet their goals and if I was able to help I would definitely do the same. Someday I will be like you guys and pass it forward. I really appreciate this video and you guys are amazing and I will continue to support your channel always! Merry Christmas everyone!!
John, you and your team have me in tears! Your gift was awesome! Your choice of Luke was phenomenal! Your heart is so big. Every one of your videos are awesome, this one just proved it! Keep on doing exactly what you do! ❤️⚓️❤️

I stumbled on your channel who know how far back now, and think after every video, thanks for the entertainment, but you totally found a good deserving folk to receive this and share the good feels through the season. While I'll never have a workspace to have even one of those tools, I'm so happy for Luke and in awe of the generosity you and your sponsors shared with him.
Looks really well deserved! The shop before was good and functional, I feel like he was a bit embarrassed about the mess but it's nothing compared to most of our messes, don't look in my garage! 😅
This was amazing!!! Also shout out to the sponsors!! It’s one thing giving it to a creator but giving it to someone that may never buy it for themselves shows you that they care!! One of the best videos!!!
Looks like it was the perfect person to receive this. Unbelievable humble and only wants to help people. I mean the dude got a $2500 shopping spree and heads straight to the clearance section. So happy for this guy.
This, honestly, might be my favorite video you all have ever done. It was pure joy, something that is needed in the world today. Congrats to Luke! Seems like an amazing family.
Besides changing a family’s life entirely, this video is geared towards what I believe is the majority of people- small spaces that suck. Seeing the Jet dust collection that doesn’t take up the entire wall, and the way that a space can be better optimized for a user. This is a much better video than another pallet of returns. Bravo John and crew
Genuinely lovely video, helping a fan get a setup that would have taken years (or decades) to put together normally. I don't always read the comments but looks like a lot of people recognise that Luke seems like a really genuine guy, a bit overwhelmed by meeting someone he looks up to and getting anything, let alone all of that for free, and doesn't have to be jumping, screaming and high-fiving to be grateful...you might just have a genuinely good group of people as subscribers too! (Also me.)
This was so cool. This channel has inspired me to start woodworking 6 months ago, and honestly that guy deserved it more than anyone. From one Luke to another!
Seeing this guy, I think just about every young woodworker can relate to him. Strong desire to build, no dedicated place to build, no extra money to buy the tools you wish you had. I hope he goes crazy with building now. Congrats to him, Mr. Malecki I don't care what Sam says you're a good guy
John, this is the most generous and genuine thing anyone could do for someone and 100% think you should do this again! I’d be happy to donate to help! I’m not the richest man but I have a big heart and love to help people with their dreams!
Please plan a 6 month or 1 year follow-up on Luke. I'd love to see how much this has helped him
This!
Yeah I'd like to see that too
Yep
Yes
Yes do this
That dude was literally in shock the entire time! You guys picked a good winner. The nice, selfless guy.
Exactly what I was thinking
Luke is a local guy, I met him a couple years ago and there is no one more deserving this than him.

This, honestly, might be my favorite video you all have ever done. It was pure joy, something that is needed in the world today. Congrats to Luke! Seems like an amazing family.
Lets go. Perfect way to start the holidays
Ahhh Hartville, we used to go there on the weekend with my parents, good memories
That was so nice of you John & the guys, well done, you have a massive heart.
Very cool !!!
(Also me.)
This was so great to do for this guy.
Grateful to watch. You should be Grateful to be able to do it.
Happy for you both.
This is amazing to watch. Really awesome you are able to do something like this, John! Thanks for giving back
So cool that you did this for him! You're a good guy John!
This was so cool. This channel has inspired me to start woodworking 6 months ago, and honestly that guy deserved it more than anyone. From one Luke to another!
i loved seeing you reward a man who puts others first, a family man and a good man with lots of cool stuff. Fantastic. Youre a good man too
Seeing this guy, I think just about every young woodworker can relate to him.
Dude was so shocked. So great to see such a humble guy. Thank you John for producing this content.
