This might probably what the live film looked like. Sadly, the MGM vault with a collection of silent & early sound movies were destroyed in a fire on August 10, 1965.

If only the 1965 fire never happened, We would be able to get our hands on The "Great Library of Alexandria" of Early MGM movies.

In the actual film, the lion was just an image.

no. i believe it was a real filmed lion, but due to film deterioration or a fire or something, the logo was lost, and only two frames survived, and one of them was used in a reprint of "what happened to rosa?"
