  • In this Four Corners exclusive, the washing machine repairman who became the chief suspect in the disappearance of William Tyrrell - one of Australia's biggest child abduction mysteries - speaks out.
William Tyrrell was just three years old when he vanished. Dressed in a Spiderman suit, the little boy had been playing in the front yard of a family home.
Police initially treated his disappearance as a missing person case, before zeroing in on Bill Spedding as their key ‘Person of Interest’.
In this program, we show how this single-minded approach led to a raft of mistakes and missed opportunities in the investigation.
In August, evidence at a coronial inquest finally delivered his vindication with key elements of his alibi finally proven.
Now you will hear from Bill Spedding and his wife about how the five-year ordeal has shattered their lives.
