The sad thing is Tate is so talented, but she settles for making shitty TikTok music to get streams. Her album Girls is perfection from front to back, and when she actually puts her effort into writing good rap music and good R&B, music and not things that are catchy for TikTok her pen is crazy. Hey Mickey is old asf though, she released that song in 2016, so I don't think it was made for tiktok hype. I do agree with you in general bc a lot of her newer stuff hasn't been hitting, The Mani/Pedi mixtape was cute but it isn't memorable in the least. I think the last thing she dropped that really stuck was the After The Rain EP, most of the stuff after that sounds very tiktok-ish and doesn't feel the same way her older music feels, it's very manufactured. I miss her music from around the GIRLS era because it was so innovative and stood-out from every other female rapper in the game. Hopefully she goes back to her more creative-roots for her next projects........

I love Tate very much and I think she’s very talented but I feel like she put yourself in a box because the version of herself that’s put in the box is the version of her that the industry likes. Btw I’m glad you see it too sometimes fans can get very butt hurt about critiquing their favorite artists and I didn’t want to come off as a hater bc Tate’s one of my fave rappers. I just wish she had the energy that she has in her features on her own music
