- Old silver & copper coins in the ground Metal detecting this overgrown farmland in NH way out back in the old fields and pastures I was relic hunting. Walking the rock walls and just exploring where people worked the land hundreds of years ago. I made the point to not go near the cellar hole and see what I could find out there and glad I did. Found a few relics like buttons and stuff and then got a week high signal on my Fisher F19 and started digging. To my surprise I see a silver coin and it is a small thing......nice ! 1848 silver seated half dime ! Dug a couple more relics and then again another good signal. Started digging into the ground and I see a large copper coin ...whoa ! number two and its a US Large cent. Metal detecting old places like these deserted new England farms there is so much history your bound to find something old and great.

Well damn Charlie…. What a great day! Dame and Waynos are gonna be jealous…. For a minute there, I thought you were gonna have to dig a Dame-sized hole (he always seems to dig gargantuan holes.. lol) to find that half-dime…. Lol.
Thanks for sharing! I’m happy for you on your finds!
Nice Charlie , dime well worth the dig , you just never know👍
A title is coming to me: Digger Charlie and the Wonderful Coin Day; by A.A. Milne. Loved it!
Charlie , you are livin the dream amigo ! Beautiful silver - I'd be getting back in that ground soon 🍻G.
nice dig...thanks...you give me hope for myself to find something just wandering around tomorrow!!
Sweet Dime 👍
Awesome day Charlie!
Live that half dime!
Hope you rechecked the large cent hole. @11:44 it almost looks like the edge of a ring in your shovel load. I first thought that was what you were excited about, but I don't think it would have been visible from your angle.
Nice 1848 half dime in great condition and it appears to be the large date with the top of date edging up into the stand or dress.
Love the half dime!!
Great finds Charlie. Congrats.❤
Wow! Great finds! Thanks for taking us along with you!
Hey Charlie. What you find is cool but I’d like to comment on your cinematography. The way you put your lines and the scenes together always flows so well. It keeps the viewers attention with pictures of digs but also verbal descriptions of the farms and landscapes long gone. It’s kind of what is unique and really makes it click in my view. Thanks!
Well said and I agree. I also appreciate when you display a small find on a leaf. Nice touch.
Really enjoying your (our) trips in these sites you guys have permission for!
Hello Charlie. I was watching your hunt from earlier and wow congrats on the half dime and the U.S. large cent way cool.

😁
Dude, the half dime was pretty deep. Great find
Awesome finds! Someone just told me about your channel and here I am!
Congrats! You got seated!
Great job
You produce interesting content. I watched from beginning to end, anxiously awaiting the next plug. Your images are sharp and the audio is very clean. Towards the end was that sound Rain, Wind or a close by stream? Thank You.
Congrats DC nice recoveries 🎉
Unbelievable!
Things must have been good in the late 1840's if change was being carried in the fields.
Good point, I had not thought of that, but makes sense considering the times.
Fantastic find’s Charlie…life is good 👍.
Good digs. You seem to cut plugs with ease. Is your shovel sharpened?
Nice Half Dime, 1848 Large Date, Mintage 668,000.
❤❤❤❤❤😮
It looked like there was something else on the end of your shovel at 11:44 min. Some round shape in the dirt. I'll assume you double checked the plug off camera. lol
SOME OF THEM shotgun shells are worth some good money depending on the age of them. So don't be just throwing away, you may be throwing away a nice part of a nest egg...
Did you say "river"? Seriously? Would that be the Mississippi?
Don't know why workers in field would carry any money? No food trucks back then. Think about it.
