Great video! There is a few highlight channels for epee but it’s nice to find one with this format! And also from an active fencer with a fencers insight💪🏻
Lmao the Spanish and the Swiss dudes going off the mat and still fighting got me Know nothing about fencing except it looks pretty cool in olympics but it's hard to follow the blades lol great content non the less :D
Lopez Pourtier vs Zhang: no touch + yellow card for turning (which is what the ref ended up giving). Zhang expected NLP to be a bit further past for his reposte, but NLP just bounced and didn't pass. Watching frame by frame it looks like the later hit is good, it may have bounced off the floor, but the moment the light goes on Zhang has his guard angled up and towards NLP.
@@fencer5411 I’ve never fenced him but lots of my friends have. Key vs taller fencers to me is to ignore the ignore the height and focus on your moment and you’ll be fine. Watch my bout vs Biro. For Jurka specifically I would focus hand and foot first to make him move his hand, if I can get that done then in theory finding an attack would be easier.
With all due respect to the athletes, it is so tiresome to endure the overblown, self-congratulatory screams after a hit. As one elite epeeist (who does not scream) put it to me "Why should I scream? I'm just doing my job...do you scream whenever you send a successful email?"

Love this type of video. Great for picking out bouts to watch.
Would love to see more of these videos next tournament!
I'll certainly try!
Thank you for your job😊
I appreciate a lot, it's very difficult to find fencing contents as these

YES SIR
i like this!!!
as good as Cannone is (and better than Mcdowald) I really think that their bout was more of a loss on Mcdowald's side than a win on Cannone's
Absolutely. You don’t just blow six touches in under a minute
We have a saying in chess, the hardest game to win is a won game

How tall is Jurka?
No idea, atleast 6'5!
@@GPFencing Have you ever fenced him, Sam? How do you approach fencers with that kind or reach and range? Love your channel!

Kano isn't that fast, his opponent was just slow

That's one of the most boring sports I can imagine.
What are you doing watching this channel 😂?!
@@GPFencing it was in my feed
@@LGppr Then perhaps it's not for you! If you have never tried fencing go try it first and if you have then go find one you enjoy!
Good luck!
