Love this guy, hah. He's got such a fun, good natured attitude, he likes to laugh and joke, but at the same time he's really knowledgeable and happy to share his wisdom.
Dear sir, you're the real martial man...
I am a budo enthusiast...
But you're the real one.
The amazing part of you is that you're not restricted to one style or an art.
As a true enthusiast, you're ready to explore everything. And your discipline and "beginners like mind" is simply amazing.
A big salute to your work sir!
Peace and harmony,
Sensei Maharaj 😊
This was a most interesting interview with a genial grand-master. It is very difficult to find such people today who are so generous with their knowledge and genuinely smile. This interview reminded me of the stories my Dad used to tell of his time in Hong Kong... I wonder why the people of the South are so friendly...
Grandmaster Ng Si Kay is a truly amazing martial arts master, teacher, warrior, and gentleman; a true, deep exponent of real martial virtue and skill.
Deepest respect.
This is incredible! Thank you martial man 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Wonderful clips! Thank you for filming them and making them available.
You're welcome.
Sifu Ng is truly a wonderful and humble man and so are his students, people must realise because Sifu has such a gentle spirit that he is not a show of in any way. His Kung fu is very hidden and very strong . He loves explaining the kung fu to anyone who wants to talk about it or learn it. I miss training with you Sifu and training with my Si Hings. I will never forget the training and my life in HK.Thank you to the people behind publishing this video .
If any one wants to learn the kung fu in Australia than Sifu Paul Brennan is the man to learn from. Kind regards Grant M C
Harden the Fuck Up..!!!
Chuy Delgado the senior most student will take the Grandmasters place. Once the Grand Master Passes away. This is why Sifu Ng Si Kay is now the Grand Master as he was the most knowledgeable and most senior student of Si Gung. Sifu Ng Si Kay then takes on and carries on the teaching to Si Gungs Students.
Sean O'Brieon you have no idea.
@@gc8032 As far as I know, typically, the successor isn't necessarily the most senior student. One could be the most advanced technically, but a special perception/insight is also necessary. Many Masters have died without finding the appropriate successor.
@@SpaneenOomlong I agree with what you have said.
I will let you know.
Sifu Ng Si Kay forfills all critera of truly having the highest understanding and skill set of the complete system and is filled completely with the highest spirit of the Chow Gar Tong. Long. There is no one higher in this world at present with the knowledge and skill of Ng Si Kay in the Chow Gar Tong Long. He is the highest authority.
These people are my cousins and are very good. Very kind and thoughtful.
the master is always humble and friendly.
Im learning discipline everyday. I find more meaning over the years. And the art of combat taught me that what knocks me down I get up from.
I’m finding true meaning learning from this channel, it truly helpful.
Thank you for all the clips. They are great and informative.
You're welcome, we have a lot more coming soon available directly through our website.
Amazing teacher!!!
Thank you
When I first heard "balls", I thought to myself, "not THOSE balls".
liecrusher yes, meatballs
and then the fact is, the real balls on your mind 😅🤣😱
Lol broooo
Lolhaalol lol I thought the same thing mannnnn tough stuff.
hahahhaahha
Very interesting to know everything still functions when learning this technique.
I just realized how similar this is to rapier fencing. It's all conical geometries of defense, single tempo counterattacks, and a preference on point-oriented linearity as opposed to circular power generation. Really neat.
They even use that portion of arm near the elbow like the forte of the rapier blade, defending close to the joint so there's less incoming leverage to deal with, and more power/control at the end of the weapon/arm.
Good points you raise.
The traditional Chinese and Japanese martial arts we know today, are developed independently, at the same time as the Renaissance. Which is uncanny, because it seems like there was some sort of synchrony happening.
Short known as “You just go”
@@baubaul I think he was saying "gok" which kind of mean focus the tension on the specific spot in cantonese .
you break it down to angles most martial arts are very similar if only because the mechanics of the human body only allow for a set range of motion and angles
Great video mate. What a character!
Why aren't these great grandmasters here in the US !!!! :( Are there any like him here? This is awesoe thanks Martial Man!
Thanks for the videos i really enjoy them, i would love to meet sifu Ng Si Kay to know more about Chow Gar. ;)
very good make sense thanks
Awesome skill
Full respect and bow, to old great masters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from old bg.
amazing art
thank you for sharing invaluable footage brother!
Silver Fox you're welcome, I'm happy you appreciate it.
I trained in this art for long time very good defence art make your arms very tuff soon as you block attacker it hurts them.. this art they doing lots man on man drills so all the body becomes hard. So when u block someone it hurts them and when hammerhand them they are hurt lots. Very basic and it also gets very much in-depth. So good art for every1.
Wow amazing skill
Excellent Video!!! Is it possible to post full forms of Southern Praying Mantis Demonstrations? Thank you
I had the opportunity and good fortune to train in southern praying mantis. Jook lum gee tong long pai and chu gar is what I spent a good time training in. I always like to see the different branches of southern praying mantis. I feel we are like cousins through our lineage. Love to see the old timers breaking down the history of the systems.
Yes, Theres Aldo the sacred turtle
Qigong is so pervasive in Chinese martial arts - love it!
Yeah, only in china, outside it's only a fake
This is worth learning...strong bottom etc
loved the chow gar mantis feature! be great to do more in the future!
Hi, thank you for your positive feedback. We will be hopefully be filming more with the Chow Gar mantis guys in the future.
May ask is the sifu from Hong Kong?
Incredible skills and personality
Your forearms had to have been sore after all that. That guy had me in total awe.
Sifu's so darn adorable. 😁
Большое спасибо за урок !
極懷念阿娟師姐 !!
To be able to withstand multiple kicks to the balls, now that is another level.
I was fortunate enough to have practiced this in a high school in NYC. It was near Chinatown. I do not remember the name of the instructor, he was supposed to have been the son of the grandmaster. I did not verify that. I remember doing all of those exercises plus a few more. What made me leave was the fact that I was also studying Karate at the time. The S/Mantis instructor never showed us any fighting techniques and that frustrated me. I wanted to learn to use it in real situations. I never did. If any one reading this knows of the class at LESP high school on Williams st, please leave me a comment. Thanks
Such a happy man
amazing ball
When I see old guys who say they know "a little" kung fu... I run in the other direction. That said, after giving my order at the drive thru and the voice tells me to go to the next window, I always say, "No problem." 😄
What a generous Sifu it's a blessing to see and hear him.
Dear Sifu's please move to Canton Michigan its between Detroit (mortor city)and AnnArbor (medical city)
I love southern mantis style
Not sure this would work on the street but still interesting to watch.
I just go I just go😂
You should interview Roger D. Hagood about Chu Gar and Southern Praying Mantis in general. Chow Gar is an offshoot of Chu Gar and Ip Shui's design. They are Chu Gar but you should look to the Chinese clans of Kwongsai Jook Lum. This was the highest order of Som Dot's kung fu. Chu Gar being the second order, Tith Ngaw Iron Ox being the third.
很有意思😊
Que interesante tecnica pura fuerza interior(chi)
i just go !!
You have the best , most privileged job in the world
Martial man
Your a great listener 👊🏻🤚🏼🫲
🙏🏻
1:25 "revenge!"
haha :)
I JUST GO!
Would have loved to have seen him in his younger days fighting.
Missing the MMA fanboys and their uninformed comments. Where are they?
censored by the user who posted the video im sure
Those MMA fans are idiots
They are all watching "Grand Masters" and other Kung Fu "Masters" getting stomped daily in fights. They probably just don't have time for stuff that doesn't work in an actual fight. They also may be "Idiots", but at least they can fight.
Haha Sifu's voice sounds funny when he laugh 😂😂😂😂😂
chow gar mantis has the 'many hands in 1step(motion)' concept
he just go
Best form of contraception available right now.
The full video shows old man does have some nice moves.
Strong balls = strong body, HILARIOUS ... I like it.
he seems like Zhou Botong from condor heroes :)
« You feel at ? It just comes up » im dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣 how the fuck « it just comes up »
4:12-13: "one, two, three *FART".
correct me if I'm wrong, but did this not just happen? did sifu let out a little Qi thunder?
xDD
lol, he's almost 80! give him a break hahaha
Timothy Freeman
All due respect to this very respectable teacher.....( He did let out wind while the foreign student was behind him). The Chi that got away.
+Martin Otero Santos .And I thought Kung Fu grandmasters are meant to be well mannered....
Sean O'Brieon The Chinese are not a well-mannered people lmao
You can tell the young dude is in pain and very worried 😂
Talk about balls of steel'
Man.. Cantanese Chinese from HK are so cool
How do you learn to retract testicle's?
Like a fine wine, you get better with age.
4:13 the dude just farted
Before that tall dude grabs his ass before that kicking each other in the nuts..... what a legacy 🙌
Is Ng Si Kay related to Ng Mui. Because Ng Mui I think is also related to Ip Man, just like how Ng Si Kay related to Ip Shui and Ip Keung. Plus the fact that Wing Chun and Chu Gar both came from Fujian White Crane Style.
The '3 step arrow' looks very similar to karate's 'Sanchin' which is tranlated to '3 battles'
Or Shaolin Five Ancestors Sam Cheng "3 Battles" ;)
When u convert tomoi and silat u get a powerfull energy amd tecnic to fight
Imagine 1 ball failing to go up when seeing bro’s leg coming at you
"Good ! ... G-o-o-o-o-d !!!" (emperor Palpatine)
Did he let go a small one at 14:12?
Yes his last comment about KO in 6-7 seconds sums up the ethos of all Kung Fu (whatever style) that it is a "one second fight" not fighting rounds for ages using loads of energy and fitness, this guy would seriously injure someone in a real life confrontation...………………...respect...………..
👍👍💯💯💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎯
Be good to see the Old Guy in his prime using his Tong Long
His grandson will be a master if he trains. The kid could become much more advanced if he dedicates. The internal way is part of their lives. It's getting more and more popular in North America. Too many westerners are not so open to different training styles. They want battle tested proof. It's a pity because the internal energy can be trained and used in many applications. I wish could find a good teacher in Montréal willing to teach an old guy like me. This grandmaster is skilled and I like his personality. He is funny and upbeat. No intense crap. Just honest enthusiasm.
chow gar tong long owns
cyanide Emin No Bostepe would disagree
Up up down down left right B A start
Chinese man is very strong and I like it
You can tell from the younger guys face after, that those kicks got to the balls.
Wing tsun and blocking?
I don't know why. But when I hear this master talking, he reminds me of Steven He....
😂😂mans was holding his butt😂😂😂😂
I can feel that pain on my own balls 😂😂😂
With retracting the balls, I hear the Okinawan Karate masters also do this through the practice of Sanchin.
there's a chinese super market here in georgia. it's called jusgo... that's all i hear lol
哇哈哈
I wonder if the ball protection method works even in movement. I can well imagine it takes some will-power to keep the gonads up inside the body but they wouldn't stay there permanently, surely. That wouldn't fit our understanding of male biology, which states that the balls need to cool down outside the body. But, it obviously takes time (even a millisecond) to do raise the gonads consciously, which may be just enough time to attack. Also, if it takes will-power, when under attack, will-power may vanish, making this form of defense not as effective as it seems. I don't really know, but I'm speculating here. I also imagine just based on watching his body movements, like his defense against a kick to his thigh, that his gonad-protection method, the breathing chi-gong and his defensive hardening of body are all related. What precisely then is the breathing method he uses to create this defensive shield...? That should be the question. And how long before we get results? That's the other important question.
It takes around 2 years of specific training to develop this skill and is part of the Chow Gar mantis training syllabus for inner door students. The method used is hard body Qi gong set.
I see. Interesting. Do you know of any book that I could consult covering this Qi Gong set?
No books that I know of. The sets are considered 'inner door' so you would need to learn them from a teacher in person.
martial man, do they literally retract their testicles or is some other subtle lower body movement...or it spiritual, like some of kind of mental/emotional state they enter to become less conscious of pain in that area?
neutrino78x the testicles are fully retracted inside the body.
Is it just me or does Master Ng look a lot like Master Po from the Kung Fu television series?
I used to do this, but one day one day I couldn't get one of the balls to come back down 0-o scared the shit out of me and I stopped doing it
i love that. ko'd them in 6 or 7 seconds... "always like that" hahaha.
:-)
I hope to see Xu xiao dong or any MMA guy going there to challenge his disciples.
@@blackhorse7553 sure bro gud luck. I worked and trained with a brickie who ran a school (15years experience under from Yip Chee Keung). Dude was as solid as a house, super fit, quick, and powerful asf and 40yo (i was 22 at the time). I was 95kg, very athletic, grew up boxing and playing rugby and I couldn't hold a flame to what this guy could do. Those mantis arms are so strong, fast and move so weird they literally chop through your guard and hammer you they fuckin hurt. They're not trained like that in boxing or mma. This shit comes straight from a shaolin monastery its no joke. Only reason why I didnt keep it up was because I didn't want to do it for hours a day for years just to develop shock power (when the forms start to become useful). I prefer to just hit the bag and keep fit. Its a formidable striking/strengthening system i would've loved to mix it with muay thai and bjj or sambo. Im actually surprised not more people have heard of it I'm just waiting for the day someone mixes it with wrestling and starts using it in the ufc.
THAT SHIT IS NUTS " NO PUN INTENDED.
is this some ancestor of goju riu ?
This is hilarious.
