Bird like that in Mum's house - 15' ceiling, maybe even higher, and huge window. Fluttering against glass. Got stepladder to open window. It zoomed away from window at least 6' in air. Mum's cat jumped that high to catch it in mouth and hit the ground running to gobble it up. That cat was a gimlet-eyed killer, chased squirrels up and down 100' pine trees
Thanks guys. I know the effort it takes to make these. Your transitions, especially for the ads is very smooth😊. Have a great weekend! Oh and a good Christmas break 🙂
Merry Christmas Scott and Jess Carpentry from Sydney Australia. The garden is bursting with color and vigor. You can't eat flowers, flowers are for the soul. 🌟 🌲
You can really tell how much Jess admires you with that look and how she says her appreciation! Keep up the great work, both physically and emotionally!
From a Dad of 2 young boys who is juggling a busy job in boring finance with the complete renovation of our 71 year old house, its moments like 13:32 that make it all worthwhile. Fair play Scott, my favourite channel on youtube, all the best for the Christmas period where we're forced to finally take a break, greetings from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪
We bought this shed at the beginning of July. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxe81Bz076USDt6sYU1rDcNa2LwCIKADgB It’s built now and just needs painting. The instructions were clear and concise. All the parts were there and in excellent condition.
Love the movie references Jess was dropping. Brad Pitt eating a lot in Oceans was because Russ was quiting smoking. Same with Han from Fast and Furious.
you guys have done so much since lockdown. Well done. you will look back on these days with fondness. we also renovated our first home nearly 25yrs ago. it started us on the family and property ladder.
Been binge watching your videos once again and it’s amazing to see how much the both of you have come within the past year on your house. Such an amazing build and series. Hope you guys take some time off over the Christmas/New Year period, the both of you sure do deserve it. Cheers from an Aussie carpenter
Man, I feel you and your wife. I spend 9 months renovating my own house all evenings/weekends while working full time. We didnt live in it though. Got a lot of videos about it (in Finnish) on my RUclips, feel kinda bad about having finished it over a year ago and still having 500gb+ of unedited/unpublished footage.
You are a really good builder Scott!Jess is getting involved into building as well💪💪💪 you house will look beautiful!Great plan to do it one step at the time! The garage looks great too!I couldn’t be more happy for you man i’ve been following you since the beginning amd is amazing to see you renovating your own beautiful home in “sunny nelson” Cheers from Canada all the best!!!
Next time with the bird, you need a light towel or tea towel to cover it with. When birds can’t see they tend to stay perfectly still. Then you pick the towel up, take it outside and let it fly away. Otherwise you just completely stress out the bird and yourself. 😊 P.S. Loved the Pretty Woman segment, Jess😂
Morning guys, for future bird episodes 😁😁 they are so much easier to catch if you use a towel - get as close as you can and just toss the towel over them, you can then gather them up and remove them from the space without damaging any feathers etc. Hope you bot have a great holiday season
Awesome work as always, I love your channel. , I'm not a tradie but I've renovated old apartments and houses. Even built my own tiny house. I love the contrast here in the northern parts of Europe we have framed, exterior, walls that are more than 400 mm thick, full of insulation. Thank you for great content and happy holidays.
Little tip for anyone that gets a bird stuck in the house - back it into a corner then use a towel as a net. Way less stressful for you and the bird 👍👍
And one thing that always works for me - close all curtains and windows except for one, so the room's dark except for that one window. The bird quickly figures it out and out the window it goes.
You're doing so good and the open plan space looks great. It is a juggling act working around spaces you're living in. We're on our 3rd property reno and the worst thing is the dust.
Our livingroom was our bedroom, kitchen and livingroom during renovations. Slept on a pull out sofa bed for a couple of months whilst still getting the kids to school, me doing a full time job and the wife started an undergraduate degree in nursing. Stick with it, you'll get there!
Looks great you guys! Make sure to take a break to relax and rest up over the holidays. We’ll all still be here for the next exciting episode when you come back :)
You two are an inspiration to all couples, hard working & a pleasure to watch on here, Have a lovely Christmas & Happy New Year, can't wait to see the final house reveal, hope you add lots of profit to your home you deserve it. Love from Leeds in UK.
Yup! Totally relate to having to do small sections while still being able to use the space to live in. Very good point to mention to people Scott. As one might imagine, when a lot of it gets done, Whoosh! What pride you feel having done it and taken the time to do it methodically, patiently, with attention to detail. Bravo to you both. Yes, over time it can get tiring. Rest up, Xmas holidays are so close now, we really enjoy your presentations and craftmen/woman ship. Wishing you a restful holiday to you both from East Canada🙏🇨🇦🧑🎄🎅🎄
You are awesome. Yes, it is very tiring and difficult to live comfortably in restoration project. But damn it is worth it. I am so happy for you both. Best of luck and loads of patience. Jess is excellent support.
Awesome Scott looking forward to the next vid as I have been given two sets of french doors one large with opening windows either side that have Mullins in them and the smaller set are just two doors eventually want to install them in our cottage in town , here in nelson , victory square area , cheers , shaneo, nelson 👍
Massive transformation already, it must have been a long year and more - a nice holiday would be good to recharge those batteries and give Jess a well deserved pampering. Love the channel, hope you both have a lovely and relaxing Chris ❤
Great vid! Thanks.. btw i believe that bird was an European starling.. super invasive and aggressive with native birds.. itd been better to feed them to your cat..
Scott, that was a Starling which is a pest in NZ, should have given it last rights! They can roost in large numbers and cause significant damage so you need to bird proof your roof space. Excellent progress so far, and you both should be proud of what you have achieved. Looking forward to future episodes.
Screw you, you egotistical human turd. Birds (and mice and every other critter) have a right to seek food and shelter where ever they can. I agree we must make boundaries between our homes and the environment to avoid having animals moving in with us (if one is bothered by that sort of thing) but that's more for the safety oof the animals. You label an animal a nuisance and wish death upon him/her? By your standards, we should be eliminating millions of humans for transgressions far worse than a wee bird. Fucking stupid human.
You guys are the best! Put your feet up, cameras away and enjoy your Xmas/summer break. Thanks for all the great content you put out, I know how much effort it takes, so cheers!
Definitely one of the funniest videos you guys have made. The pretty woman reference, Jesses loud yawn while you were working and another one of her clever segues into the square space and great music to boot
We get birds in house all the time. Something I learned from my father (he kept birds back in England) is to throw a light towel over them. And then you can pick them up, gently, and take them outside.
Great job both of you! 😎🤙

It’s nice to see Scott treats his home project with the same love and care he gives to every other project
As a man just hearing the "I'm proud of you" make anything worth doing😊really doesn't seam like a year and a half ago you made the big move😳
All men should purge their need for female validation.
Shout out to Jess, she has been great for this channel and is an absolute natural at this. Have a great Xmas guys.

That Jess is definitely a keeper. Lucky man there Scott Brown, lucky man.
Our livingroom was our bedroom, kitchen and livingroom during renovations. Slept on a pull out sofa bed for a couple of months whilst still getting the kids to school, me doing a full time job and the wife started an undergraduate degree in nursing. Stick with it, you'll get there!
You need a hammock in your beautiful garden to go relax in when you get the inevitable drag from living in a reno.
You guys are beautiful! Thanks for generously sharing your know how, wisdom and life with us. I look forward to every episode. What a lovely couple. 🙂
