I live in a state in the US well known for Blue Crabs. We use chicken scraps, fish heads, eels etc. when crab fishing because crabs are scavengers. I think having the tuna still in the can was a deterrent to you catching anything. The first island you went to reminded me of Hawai'i, it was so beautiful, thanks for sharing.

I think you are right, the older and stinker the better, bad tip for Tuna Cans
40 years ago i was a pro fisherman right though the channel. i had up to 100 pots plus barra nets mate, great spot
That’s cool, what do think about tuna cans for bait?
ive used everything mate, chicken guts, roo, fish frames, beef, canned tuna,,,,, best bait is fish
best place for your pots is in front of a gutter that drains out from the mangroves up close to the mangroves, not out in the middle of the river :)
Ahhh nice!
Chicken frames bro . Best crab bait
Okay, I’ll try that
i think the last island was Haycock
Haycock is near palm beach?
haycock is the little island right in the middle of the channel between the mainland and hinchinbrook island@@SaltyGypsea
we livesd in Ingham and launched at fishers landing
I went out from Lucinda, nice port
yeah i used to live there on pattersons parade@@SaltyGypsea
