Австралия

I’m Billy and I’ve been travelling around Australia in a 2019 VW Crafter 4Motion Van which I converted into an off-road Camper, its been just about every place which other vans do not dare and places only serious off-roaders go.
I now also have a 2023 Quintrex 520 Ocean Spirit trailer boat which I take out on reef and island adventures.
Join me on an adventure exploring Australia by Van & Boat where I visit places where most people don’t go to.
CASTAWAY - INJURED No Food, Water & Shelter SURVIVAL CHALLENGE
This remote uninhabited Island 60Kms OFFSHORE Castaway Challenge started off very badly with me getting a very nasty laceration to my foot as I was trying to get to the beach, its going to make things very difficult and the chance of survival is very low as there is no planned rescue.
I have no water or any kind of equipment in my safety grab bag, I have to survive until help naturally arrives and the only way that's going to happen if a vessel is close enough to see my distress signals.
How long will it be before I am rescued?

In a Little Boat Searching for PARADISE 60Kms OFFSHORE - Percy Islands
Просмотров 50712 часов назад
Took some effort to reach the Percy Island Group, the road was very rough, dusty, it was very HOT & don't even get me started about the mosquitos! The waters here are very dangerous, the have large tidal currents, enough to sink a small boat. I finally get there and find an Island paradise that is visited by by sea travelers from all around the world. Direct Messaging (DM) on Instagram: @the.sa...
HUNTING SEA FOOD 70KMS - Remote Island REEF
Просмотров 991День назад
This adventure turned out to be one of the best solo missions I ever done! It was 70kms offshore at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef off Gladstone Queensland in Australia where the ocean quality was pristine and the sea life was very abundant. I was shocked to be greeted with a rare sighting by a very large basking shark coming in for a feed. It is not common for basking sharks to be ...

VW Van Vs CREB TRACK
Просмотров 3 тыс.2 месяца назад
This VW Crafter 4Motion Van has been taken over a lot of Australian Dirt Tracks including Cape York, the Sandover Highway, Point Culver Telegraph Track and lots of remote dirt roads throughout the Northern Territory but many have said that it would not be able to complete the CREB Track so in this video I set out to prove them wrong! Will the Van fail or will it be just like a walk in the park?
I Started a TRIBE! - 2 Months Island Living

I lived on an uninhabited island for 2 months and invited a total of 30 others to join me at different times, I taught the Tribe Free-diving and Spearing Basic's and we survived eating Fish straight off the reef, coconuts from nearby Cedar Bay and Mangoes from Cooktown. The "Hope Tribe" is now born and looking for new members to join for the 2025 season starting in July.

I Almost SUNK my VAN! - 2024 CREB Track Now OPEN?
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.4 месяца назад
The CREB TRACK just officially opened but Navigating it from Wajul Wajul to the Daintree in a 4x4 Van might be a crazy idea but I'm going to give it a go, there are a few river crossings and the track is extremely slippery when wet and it can rain at any time! Will I make it all the way or fail?
Remote Island Camping by BOAT - Hope Island

Amy & I arrive by boat and camp for 5 Days on a Remote Island in Far North Queensland which didn't disappoint, I stoned a Massive Tusk Fish Spear fishing and we only managed to eat one side in the entire time between two people. This island is one of my favorites in Far North Queensland because nobody really goes there, its a bit of a mission to get to but definitely worth it.

Good to see your ok mate, Jase the roofer Newcastle, I always still look at your stuff and are envious of your stuff you are doing.
Hey Jase! Thanks for the support, foot is on the mend 👍
As the woman who showed up on that boat and "saved you"! I am very glad to know you went to the hospital to treat your foot! I was worried about it. Get well soon.
Thank you! 🙏 You showed up just in time, my foot was beginning to hurt real bad
@SaltyGypsea that type of cut only with nice stitching and some good antibiotics! It was dangerous not only for your foot but your whole body! Get well, see you on the next island !
Another awesome video bro!!! Love it. Thank you and hope your foot heals up. I know how crippling that sort of injury can be as I had one recently. Looking forward to more and for an update 🤙🤙🤙
Thanks 🙏 Foot is doing great thanks to the emergency specialist at Mackay Base Hospital, 2 weeks and the stitches come out, no water activities until then 😣
Thanks for covering this topic, it seems to be rarely discussed.
You're welcome, it's an important one 👍
What goes on in the head of a vandal?
Pretty hard to understand 😔
What you found on the beach was from a free floating FAD, they mark the location and also how many fish have congregated under it. We occasionally find them here in the Cooks, pulled apart they make a great solar light utilizing there solar panels and battery.
Fishermen or Government use?
@@SaltyGypsea Defiantly commercial fisherman, the one i have is from FV Carpe Diam, a Peruvian registered vessel I found floating just off Rarotonga its bottom well barnicaled and two Mahi Mahi hanging around it. good score.
Very Nice 😊
awesome vid man, i still havent had a chance to get up there from cairns, shouldve gone yesterday but ended up flexing out to curraghmore for the night, may have missed the last window for the year now, always next season!
It's a great track, you'll have to give it a go next year!
Stanage bay, nice out there.
Very special indeed.
Always enjoy Videos cheers , beautiful place I couldn’t live there though .
Thanks 🙏
I've never been a man who wanted a boat, but you just gave me a reason to want to! Met you up in Cairns, just over a year ago, and have been following your adventures since.
Thanks for the support! Boat has been life changing 😉
What is the ring in the nose for? Get rid of it, and grow up!
Loved the video and good to see you in the water , at the end you made me smile . After 50 plus years and some very big sharks I understand that feeling very well . Hello from South Australia .
Glad I made you smile 😊 I love sharks but the big one can be a little intimidating, this one may have been a basking shark according to the internet. 🙃
Amazing video as always
Thank you 🙏
Good job Billy. Great video again.! Keep em coming We’ve been living full time in the van for nearly 8 months so far and it’s been so good for us both. Hope to catch up later this year. I plan to be in FNQ around May !
That’s awesome!
I hang my float rope off the boat when I'm not sure of the current. More scared of not being able to get back to the boat than sharks
Good tip 👍
Awesome video 👍 I’d like to see some footage of when you’re there.
Stay tuned for more!
Bulls? Or whalers?
Second look, definitely not a bull. Still unsure of I.D at this stage.
Love the life you’re living bro absolutely love it ! Might see me there someday soon 💪🇨🇦
Thanks 🙏 🏝️
Such a greatly compact video totally enjoyable to watch and listen to all the way through... just subscribed and liked the video, you more than deserve to grow larger sharing your intrinsic passion with people who dream to be able to do the same one day!

Merry Christmas Niah!
Hey Billy, love the videos! I’m renovating a 2023 crafter, I loved the video on your modified bull bar but can’t seem to find it anymore. Is it still available? Regards Dean
Hey mate, I had to remove it due to music copyright, I’m going to remake it soon
What tyres are you running?
265/70/16
Great van build mate! And well done on tackling the Creb. What is your vans GVM?
It was 3.4t a couple of years ago but I’ve added a couple of accessories since.
I drove the creb track by accident in 2004 in a stock 2008 rodeo. Pretty hairy in a few places but it takes you through beautiful country. Well done with the camper! Not a track to attempt in the wet.
In 2004 in a 2008 Rodeo? 🙃
I doubt many campervans have been along that track. Well done.
Probably the first
A VW caddy did it last year by himself. Just a set of mud tyres and a come along.
Nice! Is there a video?
That’s impressive thanks for sharing 8:10 What size tyres & wheels are you running mate? I’m in the middle of building mine mwb 4 motion
265/70/16 on 8” rims
Thanks 🤙
Do you have a lift kit fitted or standard suspension
People like you stuff it for everyone else. When you stuff up you expect someone to save you
Wrong on both accounts, but thanks for dropping in.
What sort of reply is that ? He did it in great conditions, and all done sensibly. 🤔
Looks like you took all appropriate precautions. Drive well within limits. . Have recovery gear. Did it in the dry. What’s the beef chief?
It may be an illusion, but the van seems to have quite low ground clearance with a long wheel base, but so does my Hilux 4x4 look low from some angles. Is it low & does that cause problems?
Lifted 2” + 30” wheels from standard, front could be lifted another 1”
@SaltyGypsea Thanks for the reply. My Hilux has standard 30" inch tyres with no lift, so it's "low" by many peoples standards, but I've never found this to be a drawback. Your clearance would be at least equal to mine if not better. Safe travels.
How was Colin in the purple patrol 4wd and 4 wheeler
Top bloke! We’re going for a fishing trip together in the future sometime
Good one mate, I’ve just ordered my 4motion MWB standard roof crafter, should arrive in Oz around August. Can’t wait.
You’ll love it!
This is amazing, sending good vibes from Missouri, USA!!
Thank you 🙏
Hey where is your travelling companion??
Melbourne for now 🙃
this is such a cool way to live, never seen this at a career fair wish i had
They didn’t want us to know we could live like this
Hallo from Denmark. My ex man and I visit the Dunk Island in 1992. We were camping in our tent. We offen went to the resort to get a drink, go to the pool and so on. I still remember the Island very well. Soo beautiful. We walked around the Island. I have some really beautiful pictures from the Island. Sad to see know it is now, but thank you for the video.
You’re welcome
Love it!!! You make it look so easy. Thank you for making this video. Nice handstand by the way!
Thanks! 🙏
A fair amount of the timber related stuff on the island was built by my Grandad (All the white tables you see laying around) and the big pillars at the still in service restaurant/café. But just such a shame to see it all rotting away
Apparently it’s for sale?
So sad that it’s just been left there abandoned. It has so much still standing. It could easily be turned into an epic resort again!
Sure could be
My stepdad, mom, little sister and I stayed here for a week in maybe 1985 or so, when I was 14. I remember scuba diving, horseback riding through the rainforest and on the beach, and many memories of the resort itself. It's surreal seeing images of it like that. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms, I recall, farthest from the main dining area. The parents are all gone now, and the resort, too... but vivid memories remain. Thanks for the virtual tour.
You are welcome
theres always next time!
Maybe soon 😉
@@SaltyGypsea This weekend still looks good, thinking about going up from Cairns myself on Saturday.
Awesome!
Hi, how is the space inside the van after the vertical conversion? Have a nice day and thank you for your reply.
It's good, lots of space
Could you live in your van forever ? Do you miss living in a house/unit…? New subscriber btw 😊
Also where did you get your door bug screen 😊
Hi & thanks for the add! I’ll be building a small cabin on a friends property to stay in for 6 months & travel in the van/boat for the other 6. I’ll never rent or have a mortgage again.
Hello. What size tires do you have? They look very nice
Hi 👋 they are 265/70/16 on 8” rims
Thanks for the video. I like your spirit and attitude, there is a lot of kindness in the way you present your stuff. I am about to buy a Crafter 4 Motion in the few weeks to come. As a surfer and multi-sports in general, I was interested to see the way you organize your storage area. Keep enjoying life the way you do, it's inspiring!
Thank you 🙏 The cargo area started with the bike which also determined the height of the bed, basically the bike is stored on the passenger rear, there are drawers in the middle and a pull-out mini kitchen on the drivers side.
Good decision mate. Seriously I was thinking no way is he going to do the Creb in the van. Plus I'd recommend doing it with at least another vehicle. Thanks for sharing
Actually did it yesterday from South to North and no issues, breezed it through. Big Red was scary but easy when dry
Well done Billy. You certainly got further than I would in my LWB Crafter camper and once again displayed the ability of the 4motion setup. I am considering upgrading my tyres from 245 70 16 Duellers to 255 70 16 Maxxis Razr AT811. Are you still happy with your Razrs? Cheers. Geoff
Razr are still my choice
Excellent. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers
You’re welcome
Ooooooh next time Billy 👌
Next time for sure!
